Lovely interior, amazing table side service from everyone serving and such flavourful , good food with a twist!
Cocktails were so well mixed and just a little different from the usual, to make me want to try more than just two next time.
First, ask for Ashley to be your server; take time to enjoy the chefs in the 'open kitchen' and go beyond the ordinary that you can have at home. Try their custard tart dessert either at your table or with coffee in their lounge (in fact, plan ahead and pre-order a takeout of another dozen of the tarts) !!. And, book your return visit before you leave. Well done, great food supply strategy, and comfortable surroundings to catch up with friends.
We were there for dinner, and the salmon feature was delicious! I have also been previously for lunch, and their One Punch is always fantastic. :)
A nice little hub for a great lunch get-away during the week. Food is fresh, the ladies are pleasant and the decor creates a nice comfort zone for relaxing.
Will come back again!
This was an unexpectedly outstanding dining experience for us in downtown Calgary tonight. The food, service & atmosphere were perfect. Only thing that might be worth a bit of work was the wine list - no Cabernet Sauvignon on offer, and a number of labels that are not well-known. While we always appreciate the effort to support local/ Canadian growers & vintners, we would have liked a bit more choice in the wine department. However, that will CERTAINLY not prevent us from going back again...and again...and again! Great experience overall!!
This was our second time visiting. The food was delicious and our server, Ashley, was absolutely fantastic.
Our group met there for a book club, as it is cozy and not overly loud. Ashley was very engaging and made great recommendations for food and drinks, and even suggested our next book.
The food was amazing, the staff was amazing and the atmosphere was amazing. I can't wait to go back. Such an awesome experiance!
Overpriced food and very very small quantities. Pretentious menu names.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Love the concept of keeping everything local and canadian. The staff's knowledge of the details into the plates was nice to hear.
We all had the special. Saddle of rabbit stuffed with smoked leg of rabbit. Simply the best meal!!! We ordered another one and split it as we were so sad when the meal ended. Cannot say enough superlatives about the meal or the service. Thank you, Ashley, Christina and Chef James. A lovely evening.
I came here for dinner and then lunch. The food was delicious and service was good. We loved everything we were served especially the baked bousin cheese (a must try!). We finished off with desert, which I really enjoyed as it wasn't overly sweet. I would definitely come back.
Lovely place, nice servers (not the most attentive), enjoyed two dishes, the other was not impressive.
We had a reservation for a table, but when we arrived early we were offered seats at the bar facing the kitchen. What a show! The chef and his assistants were friendly, skilled, clearly enjoyed what they were doing, and produced an absolutely marvelous meal. We were so happy that we were seated in front of the cooking (we were offered our table when it was ready, but we declined) and we were treated so well by all the staff, we felt like royalty. A truly memorable experience.
This place caught my eye walking Stephen avenue and I was excited to try it. Great decor and vibe. Then I sat down. I think they are going for some sort of hipster indifference to dining. The service was probably the worst I've had since Calgary was booming and everyone forgot what service meant. In fairness to the chef the food was good but my meal (lamb) was comprised of about 3oz of actual meat (2 small sad lamp chops begging for their friends). This place better iron out the wrinkles soon of they will find themselves a victim of the current economy. With all the dining options in Yyc I would try elsewhere.
Just meh. Came in for a quick lunch to try this new renovated restaurant, we were the only table eating after 1:30 so we decided to order right away as had places to run to. We had the beet salad, candied pork belly, foie tasting, and the KH burger which was noted to me once order that is grind in house so they cook it to medium temp. I found this quite appetizing as i appreciate a less cooked burger. We found our meal to be lacking in efficient flavours IE salt, 2/3 foie's were appetizing the pork belly was just weird with a over cooked egg on top. The burger in natural daylight outside looked cooked like every other burger in Canada, well done. As were in time was congested we just wanted to not stave and leave, we regretted not going to a fine establishment across the way.
Attentive service and excellent food prep. A step up from the usual chain offerings. Really airy space, very inviting.
Loved the atmosphere, decor and food was delicious. Will definitely be back again.
Fabulous new go-to restaurant!! Can't wait to get back.
The space is beautiful and we enjoyed our food. Their wine list is all Canadian in keeping with the Canadian theme. Oddly though, it didn't contain any white wines from BC - just Ontario.
really great tasting food, well mixed cocktails and friendly service, the owner/mixologist spent a lot of time with us and ensured everything was perfect.
The One Punch Lunch was very good. The spicy pulled pork sandwich, soup, mini butter tart, and mocktail was perfect while we sat on the patio enjoying the sunshine. A great lunch experience. Will be looking forward to visiting again for dinner.
Food was exceptional. We really enjoyed the restaurant setting. Will definitely go again.
We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. We went prior to the theatre and they were prompt with their service. The food while good was not spectacular.
