We specialize in Steaks, Seafood and Craft Cocktails.
Our steaks are hand trimmed and cut daily. Our steaks are specially aged a minimum of 21 to 28 days for extra tenderness, resulting in a juicy more flavorful steak.
Florida is known for seafood. Our prime local seafood is always fresh and flavorful. KJ's menu will have a variety of favorites to enjoy.
Our juicy Trophy Burgers are lightly seasoned with our special blend of spices and seared to bring out the unique texture and flavors; served with House made fresh cut fries.
We decided to go out to dinner rather late and we wanted a place without a long wait. I used Open Table to find KJ’s. Saw there wasn’t a wait so we decided to try it. We had been there a few years ago and weren’t thrilled but we drive by a lot and it is usually busy. We decided to give it another try and we were so happy we did. The good was great and our waiter was helpful and.professional. We will definitely be back,,
Was my first time at this restaurant. The prime rib was tender and best I have had in southwest Florida. I will definitely return.
KJ’s is a great value. Would it get a 5 star review if being compared to master chef mega restaurants? No...but comparing these isn’t fair. KJ’s does what they do very well. A local restaurant, not a chain, focused on steak but with plenty of fresh seafood options as well. They buy quality meat and prepare everything to your specifications. Great flavor, excellent sides, and the bread is always awesome (perfect crust, taste and always warm). The pricing is in line and a good value for the quality received. Owner may also stop by to make sure everyone is enjoying their meal. Love the service we’ve received. We are regulars!
Steak cooked perfectly and service very attentive. Tuesday 2 for 30 special was a great value
Service was very slow, waited for 10 minutes at our table before our waitress appeared. We finally ordered but when our dinner finally arrived it was several minutes after the table beside us received their dinner and they were seated and ordered much later than we were. The steaks were very tough and chewy, not what we expected. We had to ask our waitress twice for extra napkins before she brought them. Our dinner was just ok, as was the service. Not at all what we were hoping for. We are always open to trying different restaurants in the Fort Myers area, unfortunately this is one we will cross off the list, based on food quality and service.
OK, it was mother's day, a little leeway given BUT my "special", prime rib was SO small I could have eaten three !! My brother's "Prime Rib" sandwich was again small and ho hum over all.
I seriously thought a place called a "Steakhouse" would absolutely sparkle when it came to any steak products ?? Not the case.
Ok, again it was mother's day and not the regular menu.
I will go back one more time on a "regular" night and try the steaks to be fair, but until then I think I will not recommend this place to anyone, just yet.
My husband and I both ordered a 6 oz filet - he ordered his well done and I ordered mine medium. They both came just as we had ordered them and were so tender and juicy. We had a new waitress but she was very friendly and attentive. Our dining experience was awesome. I would highly recommend KJ’s to everyone.
Food was good and the price was good. Service was better than good. Our waitress filled our water many times which I consider a good measure of service. The owner chatted with us too which was nice.
A bit over priced for the quality of steak. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was a pleasant surprise I would recommend. It was clear this building used to be some other restaurant, and it looks like they did not have the budget to make it what they envisioned.
Disappointing for 2 in our party.
Ribeye was about 1/3 gristle. Crab leg was decent but undersized.
Strip and filet both good. Salads good. Twice baked potatoes about a C-.
Drinks pretty small.
Service ok but could have been better. They weren’t busy.
Probably won’t return
Food was delicious and cooked perfectly, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Service was outstanding. Would highly recommend.
First time eating at KJs and the atmosphere and service was amazing. Our waitress Tracy was phenomenal! Had a great time!
It was a nice place to have dinner at on Easter Sunday as we were in town for a couple of weeks. Good food an we will come back next time we are in town
My family had dinner here one eve after seeing a show at the Barbara Mann Theatre. We were promptly seated, and our waited came quickly to take our drink orders. Both my Mom and husband had a burger, and I had the Pecan Chicken Salad. We all enjoyed our meals and our waitress was both friendly and efficient. For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding and an order of cherry cobbler. When the cobbler arrived, it came in a sizzling hot mini cast iron pan, with ice cream on the side, and the waitress immediately poured over some butter rum sauce. The problem was, that it was too hot to eat, even after waiting 15 minutes. We ended up taking it home because of that. I told our waitress to mention it to the kitchen staff that it was a great idea, just not really feasible if you actually wanted to eat it after your meal. It's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
Food was ok but not outstanding. My husband said his martini was the worst he ever had. Service was bad. We got up and got our own ice and water.
A great meat-oriented restaurant, obviously, but there are also plenty of seafood and pasta items on the menu. Our meals and the service were both very good, which is not a given at prime time on a Saturday evening (especially during prom season). My wife had the Prime Rib, their special, and it looked and tasted wonderful. It didn't have an enormous amount of fat and was 'cooked to the temperature that she requested. My Pork Chop was tremendous! We'll be going back to try some of the other selections on the menu. I recommend that you try KJ's as well!
KJ's has a great formula that keeps us coming back again and again. Their selection of entrees, salads and sandwiches are really enjoyable. The desserts are off the charts good. Service is always attentive but not overbearing. Really, it's our go to choice!
Went on a Sunday evening pretty quiet in there. Had the Tomahawk steak cooked to perfection. Crispy Brussels were slight too crispy. Wife’s steak was also cook perfect. She had the ribeye. And the Sunday perk of free bottle of wine was good.
Service started out great, she took our order, brought drinks back, then our salad and then never came back until we had to flag her down after probably 20-30 minutes to try and get our check. She didn’t check on us or our food while we ate, not even once. Food was very good, service needs a lot of improvement. Not sure
Has a reservation and was told that they needed to find a server for us. Didn’t understand until I saw the large party (100+) in one of their banquet rooms. Once we were seated, took a Long time to get drinks. After that, all was well. I will give them another go. Could have just been short handed for the party. Food was really good. I had fish sandwich, others had drunken uncle shrimp and no one was disappointed. Bread was REALLY TASTY.
WINE MENU—- didn’t say TYPE of wine, only what it would taste like and the brand.... ( Gascon- notes of cherry, and tobacco, with some mild tannins....) okay, but WHAT GRAPE IS IT? I would guess. Malbec? The entire menu was laid out this way, which confused my 82 yr old mother in law.
We have been to KJ's two or three times before, and found the service and food to be reliably good.
This night, there were two large parties, one a birthday, which raised the noise level significantly! Also, the kitchen did not seem to be prepared for it, even though it was obviously a prior reservation. The wait staff were stressed and running around like chickens. My friend's king crab looked fresh, and she said it was very good. The prime rib was okay but not great. The twice baked potato looked and tasted like it came out of a frozen box. The creamed spinach was more cream than spinach. We will probably go back, but will order differently.
Great food and service this was my fifth visit to kj’s and I’ve taken guests with me each time... always good choices prices and well prepared foods
We really enjoyed our experience. The food was very good and our waitress was wonderful. Will definitely go back again.
Good waitress. Pleasant atmosphere. Menu diverse - something for everyone’s taste.
We picked this restaurant because they took reservations - no one in our party of 6 had eaten at KJ’s before. Everyone enjoyed their food. Had Calamari and Brussels sprouts for appetizers both were very good.
i gave this a low score because my husband and I didn't even get to eat here, and I didn't have an option to select n/a. I had made a last minute reservation and when we arrived we were told that we had to wait about a half hour or so because they were short staffed. We decided to wait it out at the bar, I ordered a Tanqueray and Tonic, but got some cheap gin. I know my Tanqueray! But the bartender was running around and we couldn't inquire with him. Our observation was that the tables that were occupied had no food on them and their glasses were empty. It was clear that they were really behind in serving, so we decided to go elsewhere. It actually worked out for us because we went to Connors instead and the food was excellent!
Delighted that the food & service was excellent. Tracy, our server, guided us through the menu suggesting selections. She was spot on! The calamari was unique and very tasty - so different from other restaurants. The touch of sherry in the french onion soup was outstanding. The prime rib was slow roasted and very tender. I would recommend the restaurant.
SAVE YOURSELF...GO TO LONGHORN!
Excellent prime rib, just as ordered. Outstanding brussels sprouts. Ceasar salad was small and limp. Martini was okay, lacked olives; house red wine very good. Owner friendly, attentive, and conversational. Good ambiance, not too crowded, and noise level low enough to enjoy conversation without straining.
I had the filet and lobster and it was amazing. The jasmine rice was a bit overdone, but someone else had the twice baked potatoes loaded and they were delish. The Millionaire Bacon was a hit, as were the deviled eggs. Great place for a steak.
Very good, will definitely go back again
the "duke" Steak was a little thin for 14oz
The piece of salmon in salad was a little meek
Both however tasted fine
Bread pudding great but needs rasins and nuts
Out of town. Entertaining bosses. We are in dining business. Don’t recommend this place
Food was delicioso. We never had salt and pepper at our table until we asked for it halfway through our meal. Only fault.
We brought friends who were visiting from North Carolina who thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the simple but tasteful artistic ambiance. They raved about the apple cobbler dessert. We always appreciate a great experience at KJ's.
First time at KJ's, everyone enjoyed their meai. We were happy with the menu variety and prices. Will be going again sometime.
Great food, atmosphere and service!!
Didn't get greeted by a server for about 10 minutes, took about 15 minutes to get a water. The bread that was supposed to be brought in the beginning of the meal was brought in the middle. Service was absolutely horrible for what I thought would be a nice steakhouse. They charged my card for someone else's meal (they fixed it at the restaurant but still, rookie mistake there). This is supposedly a nice steak house and I got the same service as I would at Chili's. I've actually had better service at Chili's..
Food was not impressive either. Tasted like my potato was sitting for a while due to the tough skin on the outside. Cook your food fresh and to order! I had a sirloin that was overcooked and tough. Didn't have much taste to it either. You're a steakhouse... this should be a gimmie. Don't open a steakhouse if you can't make steak. Only thing that really saved me from being completely disappointed was the lobster. That tasted great.
Place was nice on the inside, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the service and the food were mediocre at best. Fix your restaurant or I can't see you staying in business much longer. Don't go here if you have an option.
Everything was excellent. The pork chop was excellent and the stir fry with shrimp was outstanding. Definitely a place I would go again.
Our favorite Fort Myers restaurant! :) Everything is always perfect at KJs!
Excellent quality and taste.
