Kisumé, a pure obsession with beauty - is a contemporary experience that’s built on duality. It’s where the traditionalist and the modern artist meet. Our cuisine draws on the purity of Japanese food culture and injects it with a uniquely Australian sensibility. Here, each visit will be different from the last: Kisumé is a journey that constantly evolves.

Find us in the heart of Flinders Lane, a stones throw from Flinders Street Station and Federation Square, and discover three levels of dining. Our modern sushi bar and restaurant sit in the basement and ground floor, while Kuro Kisumé sits discreetly on the first level. Kuro, our most bespoke experience, encompasses The Table, two private dining rooms, an elegant Chablis bar and Winewall specially-curated by Philip Rich.

Value for money just wasn’t there. If you want to charge like nobu, kokos for example expect to have the product and service that comes with that. Waitering staff quite disorganized and not confident, especially with what they are serving. Room for improvement. Quality of food was great but that’s about it.

I took my wife here for our "date" night. good food, service and great atmosphere. we really enjoyed ourselves. I think the only downside was the value, overpriced for what it was. $15 for an asahi, come on!

Best edamame I’ve had! Modern decor with an open kitchen. Interesting menu and the food all great except we didn’t like the fish - the panko crumb batter was just too heavy.

Bartender was sensational. Kingfish with truffles was very tough. Ribs were sensational.

There was nothing wrong. The food was nice so was the ambiance but we didn’t feel special. Some places like Sake , you feel the passion from the staff. It lacked passion and the 1% ers. The unisex bathrooms also are a bit wierd. Overall good but I would expect more for the price.

The atmosphere, service and food was exceptional. Portion sizes are medium to small. It is a dining experience however it is expensive so it is for a special occasion.

Absolutely amazing place. Fell upon it by chance via google maps as wanted to treat my friend that I was staying with in Melbourne. She loves sushi and sashimi like me and rwckons this was her best meal in ages. This is high praise as she is a real foodie like me. Splash out on the tasting menu, $88 each but you will not be disappointed. A real treat.

what a great spot , sat at the counter , thats a must do , chef explained every dish , in japaneseenglish and we sort of got every 3rd word, but that was the fun of it , we are pretty sure we had NewZerrand Tuna with spicy kitten , or some such ! and we really love Kittens (Just find them a bit chewy). But really the food was great , the staff were attentive and explained the menu with enthusiasm. It was a great night we will be back for sure. Cheers Luke

We arrived and were seated at the bar. We struck up a conversation with our Chef Sam who was really helpful and welcoming. We decided to let Chef Sam choose our meals and the sommelier choose the wine. We were not disappointed at all. I would recommend this to anyone. The food was on point and this was my third time, I experienced a whole different menu from my previous visits.
