We just moved here from Dallas and we loved Kirby's in Dallas, but must say San Antonio location was better. Everything was great!
Food was superb, cooked just as I ordered it, waiter extremely attentive......and then I left my credit card at the restaurant. They found it and put it in a locked box. Went the next day to get it. Had to wait a minute because locked box was under tight “key control.” Can’t beat that!
Slow start, we sat 20 minutes before ordering but the rest of the experience was great!
Great food and service! Staff really cares! Steaks are always cooked properly, appetizers and seafood are all great!
Enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Appetizers was awesome. We had the Lobster Cargot that just melting in your mouth. We shared the Prime “Cowboy cut” Ribeye that was the BEST steak ever. Then a special treat was the chocolate cake with cinnamon ice cream on top which was complimentary for celebrating our anniversary. The staff were great & knowledgeable. WORTH it!!🙌🏼👍🏻

The ambiance was fantastic, but we also ended up scheduling our reservations at the same time as a birthday party so it was a little loud in there. As far as the food goes it was fantastic. I got the peppered steak(Pittsburgh style) and the lady got the filet(black and blue) and crab cake. For the appetizer we got the lamb chops, I am extremely picky when it comes to lamb chops, but these were amazing. The mushroom cream sauce was flavorful but didn't take away from the flavor of the meat. The peppered steak was prepared perfectly as so was the filet. The black truffle mac-n-cheese was really flavorful and delicious but in my opinion a little salty. The Half Baked a la mode - a half baked cookie to be still gooey, was very well made.

All around great meal and the service was good as well. Steaks and sides were delicious, though I ordered a ribeye medium and it was closer to rare and needed fixing but the flavor was good. Good selection of tasty cocktails and great wine selection. Chefs special feature items were also really good. Overall great evening and look forward to our next outing here. Lobster cargote app was amazing as always. Tip: Dip the house bread in the cheese sauce, it’s fantastic.

Even with a reservation it took us an hour to be seated. The whole experience took about 3 hrs.

Our meal was excellent as usual. Our waitress, Jewels, was superb and very attentive. Cory is a great mixologist and his recommendation of Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye for our Old Fashions was perfect. My filet mignon with black truffle butter was delicious and the same with my brother's filet mignon. My wife had the sea bass with lobster risotto was excellent. Their fried asparagus with lump crab and because sauce is the perfect apetizer. I believe their lobster bisque is the best! We always enjoy the atmosphere and the ambiance of Kirby's.
Spectacular dessert but I have had better steaks at Saltgrass. The sautéed mushrooms did not have much taste. Good waiter and okay wine.

Good overall but steaks were not cooked as requested and normally staff will ask to cut into them before leaving and we didn’t have staff come over for a while after.

Very nice restaurant. Great valentine's day menu.
The service by waiters and waitress alike needed improvement. It took a while to just to get seated and we had ordered some wine at d bar but when finally got our table; I had to carry our own drinks and bottle.
Roy was our server again and he was amazing. It was a set menu but he knows we love the shrimp cocktail. He was able to get us one! It truly made our night. He remembered what wines we love and brought them straight out to us. He took such care of us. We have requested that he be our server whenever we dine at Kirby’s from now on.

Food and service is always awesome!
I was very disappointed in the Valentine Pre Fix Menu: crab cakes had no flavor; salad wasn’t fresh; steak appeared to have been “precooked” & then reheated & the vegetable plate looked “leftover”. We had really looked forward to a much better dining experience.

The ribeye on Valentine’s Day was not very good. It was medium rare but asked for medium well. It also had some sort of BBQ sauce that wasn’t very good. The Caesar was fair. Disappointed because Kirby’s has always been my favorite steakhouse.

Great service, attentive, professional, and peaceful atmosphere.
Restaurant is on the noisy side, but not sure how that can be resolved, which is why ambience received a lower rating.
We had intended to try Kirby's for a while since we first sampled some of their offerings at a Culinaria event and finally go around to it. Quite honestly, it was one of our best dining experiences in San Antonio. The food was wonderful, the service impeccable and the overall experience made for a special evening. My wife had the king crab and I had the lamb chops. Definitely start out with the Lobster Cargo as an appetizer. Kirby's is highly recommended.

Was expecting way better service for such a prominent restaurant. Was very surprising. They probably need to take some pointers from wildfish (Eddie Vs) and J prime.I don’t understand how on a Thursday night they could be out of ahi tuna when there’s like five things on the menu from entrées.

I would definitely recommend Kirby’s to my friends. The food was very good, but unfortunately our waiter was not very friendly. Our entire group got the impression that he was not really wanting to assist us with good service.

$45 menu - great selections to choose from - IMO they’re best RW effort yet

Well trained and experienced with out being pretentious
My only thought to add (selfishly) - is that they consider wine pairings or featured RW value opportunities in the $35-$45 range
Great flavors, superior service pros, relaxed, well fitted ambience - enjoy some wine, stay a little longer, more lingering experience

This steakhouse is mediocre at best compared to the other options in San Antonio. The service and staff were great, and the restaurant was nice. However, the food was subpar for what I would expect at a higher end steakhouse. The New York strip was tougher than any steak I’ve ever had, and there was a serious lack of any seasoning on any of our food.
