    The food we got was good. I was disappointed the kitchen was out what I wanted and our dinner reservation was early and there were only 4 other tables while we were there. Speaking of the other tables, there was a very young child (maybe 2 yo) with a couple who was being a 2 yo which is disruptive which did not add to a positive experience, may I suggest children should be left with a sitter. The service was rather slow, we were not in a hurry so not a big deal for us.

    Very limited menu… not made any better by being out of the duck trilogy on a Friday evening… The dining area is a real disappointment. Small area with cheap looking furniture. Not the cozy and quaint I’d read elsewhere. Wine menu disappointing. Chopped salad was not good. Not seasoned, heavy on the green olives, and salty. Maybe the olives were the issue since I’m not a big fan. But just not good. The lettuce “wraps” were an embarrassment. A sprig of romaine with an unseasoned piece of beef, a dollop of Gorgonzola dressing, and a diced tomato. I guess I had visions of PF Chang, and if you want anything like that, don’t choose. Ribeye was well presented and tasted very good. Cooked perfectly. The duck pasta was bland. I don’t even remember my side… Bread pudding was a simple and excellent classic rendition. No extravagance. Just great bread pudding Service had much to be desired. In fact, after taking our food which we asked to be boxed, never saw it again. About mid meal, a couple larger parties were seated and noise level became almost unbearable. So not a quiet/mellow evening. Not a place I will try again.

    The food was not what we expected. The menu looked great but the taste just did not deliver. Perhaps it was an off night at the restaurant since there were only two other tables on a Thursday night. Our server was attentive.

    The menu was not accurate. They now have a new chef and have not adjusted menu. My salad was supposed to have Buratta cheese, but it was feta instead. No mashed potatoes came with entree as was stated on the menu. No warning from waitress about the changes before we ordered. We were told to get the duck-but they had no duck at all the night we went.

    Beautiful setting and good service but the food was marginal at best. Salads were good but scallops were very salty and the snapper was dry and overcooked. Only 4 or 5 tables filled but out of several entrees at 6:30 PM. Certainly not worth the very high price we paid for dinner.

    Kinsmith is a lovely restaurant with a highly creative menu…But there are serious management issues. There were four of us dining on a night when the restaurant was nearly empty. Shockingly, Kinsmith was “out” of the three items we wished to order: a red wine, Mobile Mussels, and Fried Chicken Livers! (How could ANY restaurant in Alabama be out of chicken liver?!?!) And, unbelievably, instead of telling the wait staff all the menu items they DIDN’T have, the embarrassed waitress had to keep coming back to our table THREE times to announce, “sorry, we don’t have that item either…”; absolutely inexcusable. When we finally found items we wanted that WERE available they were generally excellent. The Watermelon soup was fabulous, as was the Shrimp Risotto and the cornbread. The Lettuce Wrapped Steak, however (which two of us ordered), was absolutely awful; each of the three crispy lettuce leaves contained two pieces of medium rare steak. Four of my six pieces of steak were so full of gristle they couldn’t even be chewed, and were too big to be swallowed whole, so I had to spit them out. The remaining two pieces were chewable but only barely; they were definitely neither tender nor tasty. Our friend who had ordered the same item also found her steak inedible, and remarked that hers were so bad she wouldn’t even take them home to her dog. The waitress took them off the bill. Finally, the valet parking charge was $15, even though we were NOT staying at the Trilogy and had NOT been charged for valet parking two weeks earlier when we came to eat at Waterworks, the other Trilogy Restaurant! Get your act together, people…

    I was delighted to have the opportunity to dine at Kinsmith. The combination of truly excellent food, a welcoming and knowledgeable staff and a gracious and restrained environment made this a special meal. I recommend it without reservation and will look forward to my next visit.

    We were really disappointed with the quality of breakfast compared to dinner. Dinner at Kinsmith blew us away. However, this morning we were met with a menu missing several items, cold biscuits, and generally lackluster entrees. Our party enjoyed the pancakes and the server was very kind. We hope things improve because the space is gorgeous. We’re rooting for you Kinsmith.

    The food was outstanding. The busboy was excellent and great company. The waiter didn't introduce himself--we didn't know he was our waiter until we asked the busboy. The waiter's reading of the specials was so flat we didn't consider them--when the chef recited them to nother table they sounded excellent.

    Our dinner at Kinsmith was fantastic. Chef Bruce made us feel welcome, and every bite from the extraordinary appetizers to the bread to the entrees was on point. My daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and I went for my husband's birthday. We had some amazing lettuce wraps with coconut rice and nuts, hushpuppies with collard greens and corn and a dipping source that was to die for, and some butter milk biscuits with homemade jam that kicked the night off just right. I didn't taste anyone else's drink but my lavender lemonade was on point. My husband ordered the stripped bass that came with corn and asparagus and pronounced it delectable. The fish was perfectly cooked and came with a collard green pesto, and he said the corn was the best he had ever tasted. My daughter had the duck three ways with sweet potatoes. She said it was fantastic. My son-in-law who is vegan had the rice flour fried cauliflower that came with a vegetable dish and sweet potatoes. He said it was so good he cleaned his plate. It is so hard to find delectable vegan food in Montgomery, but he said Kinsmith is the place. And I had the escovitch fish with olives and artichoke hearts. Every bite was a morsel of delight. This restaurant is our new favorite place. Amazing.

    Chef Bruce was Awesome. Just came back from market with fresh veggies. Food was unique, flavorful and worth coming back for. Service was great and the old Murphy mansion venue was upscale. A real culinary treat.

    We had an extraordinary experience at this restaurant for brunch. Our waitress Keke, treated us like family! My pancakes were HUGE fluffy and delicious 😋 And I forgot my debit card and Keke literally chased me down in the hotel to give it back to me!! Definitely returning to this Kinsmith !!🤗🤩🤗

    I am blown away by the good reviews. We went for a special occasion and it was the worst meal & experience that we had the entire weekend. We shared the mussels, seafood risotto and a salad. The mussels were ok - even though they were tiny, the broth (with sausage and okra) was tasty (although we had had to ask for bread, it was not brought out). The seafood risotto was the size of a tapas serving (actually was served on what I would consider a salad plate) and was COLD. The chopped salad was ok. The service and atmosphere were definitely not 5 star. Our server was pathetically over-matched; the tables were so close together, the hostess who was doing something for the table next to us bumped into our wine glass and spilled all over the table (and didn't offer us additional wine either, btw). Nothing about the place screams elegance or professional. Hire experienced servers and hostess if you want to charge these prices. The following evening, we were going to go into the rooftop lounge and saw our server was working in there and we immediately left - out of fear we would have to deal with him again. I appreciate anyone trying to make a living but not in a customer service role that depends on tips. It was just bad. From the hostess being clueless and somewhat rude to the limited menu selections to the incompetent server - I would never go back and would never recommend the place.

    Ambience was great. Started in upstairs bar and the staff there was very friendly. Downstairs to dine had a superb waiter and met Bruce the chef prior to ordering. His suggestions were spot on, and the food was great. Will definitely make the trek downtown for this place.

    Made a reservation for Sunday brunch 6 weeks in advance. Called and talked with a person 2 days prior to reservation date to add 1 additional guest to the reservation. Received and replied to an automated confirmation 1 day prior to reservation date. When we arrived 10 minutes early, restaurant was closing. All tables were empty, and the kitchen was closed. Hostess apologized and said they were out of many menu items anyway. She recommended the only other restaurant in the area that was open.

    Chef Bruce and team are creative, and use only fresh seasonal ingredients. Wonderful appetizer and entre offerings, followed by fresh-made desserts. Come hungry. Very hungry. Have eaten there four evenings this week.

    Food was amazing! Atmosphere was great. Service was ok. Food and drinks came out slowly. Only about 30 people in the place. Overall good experience but don’t be expecting quick dining. The wait for the food was worth it.

    Ambience is great! Service was superb! Our crab bisque was “fishy.” My little gem salad had green goddess dressing with blue cheese??? The flounder was dry and tasteless. The side salad tasted overwhelmingly of garlic! Soooo disappointing

    This restaurant just opened a month ago, and I hope to spread the word that it is worth your time and worth the price. The chef does a great job of basing the entrees on classic Southern cooking and then adding the chef's own creative fusion. The four of us had four different dishes - pork belly, crawfish risotto, 3 piece duck, and grouper. All agreed they were excellent. Service was well trained, and attentive. I recently moved from Los Angeles, and say without hesitation that it would do well among the best in SoCal. Please give it a try.

    No hostess, 2 waiters and the chef, menu was unique and possibly to creative for all taste buds, interior is beautiful and well laid out for a nice feel, our waiter was inattentive, our steak (2 were ordered) were prepared the opposite way ordered (rare and medium well), for over $200 for 2 it was disappointing.

    Well I made reservations and once we got there we were told it was first come first served. There were five free tables but we were told that it was a 30 minute wait and we has to sit at the bar. After 15 minutes we saw five people that came in after us taken to tables. So we stop a waitress and asked her how long did we have to wait. She then told us that we could have been sitting at a table and she was nice enough to take us there and serve us. Her name was Shantell I think. She has pink braids. If it wasn't for her kindness I would have left. It wasn't that busy but I could tell that the servers had their picks on who they wanted to be seated. Not good for business at all. Because I spend too much money downtown and I always tell people the good places to go.

    The setting for this restaurant is a stately old home that for years served as the office for Montgomery's waterworks department. Now a part of a new Trilogy Hotel, it has been beautifully restored, and the new spaces here are lovely. The former double parlor now offers a grand place for a large private dinner. Wonderful paintings of downtown Montgomery scenes from a bygone area, signed by an artist named Sims, are an inspired touch. It's worth a visit to see these. Kinsmith's menu is an attempt at fine dining, but its offerings are overly ambitious and a bit too-too. My fish special, a braised swordfish filet, was well-cooked, but its pesto-infused flavoring seemed an off flavor for a filet that was served over mashed potatoes, swimming in butter. Simpler often makes for better results. Others in our party liked their pork schnitzel special, and it was certainly an ample portion. Service was friendly but very slow. Failure to offer guests a wine list is a major oversight.

    Kinsmith is a very well decorated space. The other patrons were all talking and yet it wasnt loud. Their was ample space between our table and the others around us. We were immediately seated and attended too by the hostess and then our waitress. The primary issue was the food. The purpose of dinner was to celebrate my daughters completion of B school at Maxwell so I wanted to treat her on het next to last day. The bread & salad was definitely the best part of the meal. The hushpuppies were too big and were not crispy or savory. We ordered the seafood risotto and steak. The seafood dish was watery and poorly seasoned & although the steak was medium as we perfer the setup of hashbrown and veggies left much to be desired. We left very underwhelmed.

    Reservation was confirmed by text. On arrival at assigned time, restaurant was closed. Staff member there was dismissive and condescending re: their failure to contact our party regarding their decision to close due to lack of customers. They made no effort to contact us. Disappointed from jump-street with this new ‘Kinsmith’ restaurant.
