Originally opened by Jane Vobe in 1772, this authentic reproduction public house serves up a transporting experience for the senses in Colonial Williamsburg. Everything is true to the time period at King’s Arms Tavern, from the fashion sported by servers to the pewter candlesticks—all adding to an air of colonial elegance. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, but with updates to suit 21st-century tastes, tuck in to a chophouse menu featuring prime rib, pork chops, and more.

ADA Accessible dining is available in the Purdie Kitchen. Please note this colonial building is separate from King’s Arms Tavern. Please check-in at the front, and our host will escort guests to the Purdie Kitchen.

The taverns are located in the Historic Area, and not on a public street. The Tavern is a short walk from the Tavern Parking lot which is on Francis Street.

Great food in a 17th Century Tavern. We love going here. Had the Salmon with lump crab and my husband had the Cornish Hen. Both were superb.

Dinner here is a fun dining experience with tales of history and music of colonial times. We can highly recommend the duck and salmon dishes. Great for families.

Total tab for 2, 1 cocktail included + tip $160. Very loud, several poorly behaved children. I have been at this restaurant many times. We held the rehearsal dinner at Kings Arm food our wedding at the Williamsburg Lodge (Dinner was 6/9/2000. The quality of food has deteriorated considerably. Sadly, my favorite ,Peanut Soup was not good. It is very loud in the restaurant and the pricing is drastically understated. Open table quotes $50 per meal. Our total tab (2 people)+ tip. Was $160. It is sad to see the demise of this restaurant

These Williamsburg restaurants are not part of the living museum more than actual fine dinging. The bread is probably the "finest" part of the experience. The food is heavy for summer and the wine list is grossly overpriced. The bathrooms are outdated and worn out. Value for money it's not there. This or any of the park taverns.

A great addition to our family trip to Williamsburg! Loved the historical facts and stories peppered throughout dinner along with the great music. Food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the punch bowl!

I've eaten at King's Arm in Williamsburg four times over 15 years. This time I was VERY disappointed in 1) ambience, 2) service and 3) the value/price. I booked this special dinner experience for 2 adults and 2 youth ( 11 & 12) as part of our 3 night stay in Williamsburg. Having experienced a dinner here on 3 previous occasions I expected a unique Colonial " experience" with good food. The food was good....no complaints. The service was just not good. Our server, while nice enough, seemed out of sorts. The hostess was exasperated at her iPad and verbally complained about it. We made a reservation weeks prior for a Saturday night. She finally found our reservation, and sat us near the kitchen door. The kids were given drink/ wine menus and adult dinner menus, but not kid menus. We were told we needed to " wait for 1 more table to be sat" before getting instructions. A couple and an adult family celebrating a birthday were seated. However, the vibe was really off. The other tables quickly got up and walked out. We stayed. The usual entertainment was nowhere to be found. A man with a plastic recorder and a stringed instrument walked through and played " Pop Goes the Weasel" and another quick childhood song. He exited and never returned. My fond memory of the music, staff interactions, etc were absolutely missing! After ordering, we sat alone in the restaurant for quite some time. The food came out quickly, and was good. I went upstairs to the restroom and returned via the other staircase. I wish I hadn't. Dirty dishes, napkins, etc were all over. It was a visual mess. Adding insult to injury this meal cost us $385! Seriously! IF....the ambiance, entertainment, etc would have matched the food quality, I probably would not complain. Again, VERY, VERY disappointed. I cannot recommend this restaurant any longer. Paying that much for nothing special, in a nearly empty restaurant is just unacceptable for Colonial Wiliamsburg.

Probably a bit of a tourist trap. Our crab cake appetizers were good but the chicken entree was dry and I expected more of an ambiance but there really wasn’t much of one. Just eating in an old house with rickety chairs and tables.

Game Pie at $52 had almost no duck and sauce was very thin. Everyone else’s meal looked delicious. The prices are outrageous. I realize we were having the experience of a Colonial Tavern in Williamsburg, but it’s really not worth it. Jenifer, our server, was outstanding! If you go, the pork shank and duck were delicious! We have been there a number of times and loved it but sadly, it’s now out of our price range.
