King & Queen Cantina - San Diego
I loved it! Our waitress was awesome! Super nice and patient! The only thing the music is loud to the point we can't hear one another
First time at king and queen but have been to other locations in OC. Service and drinks were amazing as expected. Will be back.
Great food and service. I love the steak tacos here.
Why does everything require an over abundance of spice? Why is it necessary for music to be so loud blood drips from my ears? I and my family see absolutely no reason to return.
Went there for the first time last Saturday! Awesome food, drinks and service! Hannah did a great job in explaining the food and drink options. Will definitely be back!
Great food and drinks. Fun ambiance, but the music is way to loud to have a conversation.
Massively fun, totally delicious, one of my all-time favorite dining experiences. Also massive margaritas—happy hour is definitely the time to go!
Great happy hour food, good drinks, great music!
noise lever too high. This was my only complaint. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found this place through my Yelp app. What a great find. I was looking for place i can meet a friend with our pooch. Great place if you’ve dogs. Their HH is awesome. Drinks and food are outstanding. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy more of their food.
Excellent food. Staff is very rude. Music was unbearably loud & got more louder later.
I always come to king n queens and I love it. The music and drinks are amazing. We had a big party and our waitress was amazing and so patient. The only bad thing was that they changed their chilaquiles.. it’s more like nachos now. Still good flavor but the old way they made them was better.
Visiting San Diego and selected this restaurant based on location and reviews in Open Table. Went there for Sunday brunch. Our server, Julio, was extremely helpful and attentive. We had the House Tacos and the chicken enchilada entrees. Both were some of the best Mexican food we have had - different, creative, and delicious. Our best meal while in San Diego.
Great group setting although music was very loud towards end of the night so hard to hear conversations. The margaritas were delicious but the wait staff was busy and didn't come by the table as often as we would think is needed.
Had the bone marrow tacos and they were amazing. Loud atmosphere but not too loud for conversation. On the pricey side but about par for the area. Would recommend and will likely go again!
Mom’s night out to celebrate birthdays!!! Very loud, but cool vibe!!!
Good food, delicious drinks!!!
Love this spot! Margaritas are so delicious and the Pork Belly Bites are a must! All their staff is great!
The food was incredible— quite possibly the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The ambiance and decor was also great. Our one complaint was that music was unbearably loud— we were in a group of 7 and it was barely possible to carry on a conversation with the person right next to me, let alone have a conversation involving the table. Turn it down a few decibels and this will be my new favorite place
You gotta get the margarita flight...best ever!! So good I went back the next day for lunch!
This was my second visit to King & Queen and, unfortunately, the experience was not as positive as my first experience. I brought my friend here for her birthday and we were disappointed with the service we received. Before we placed our dinner order our server took went on break and we were left unattended for a solid 15 minutes. When she returned from break she was apologetic and brought us complimentary shots which was very nice. When we did place our dinner order my friend's meal came almost immediately and it took another 10-15 minutes for me to get my meal making for a very awkward experience. Overall, the service was inattentive at best and made for a disappointing experience. I think K&G is a good place and would recommend it despite my recent experience. Hopefully, this was an isolated incident and not the norm.
Went for Taco Tuesday which was really good. Our server was great new the menu inside and out giving good good recommendations. Good drink options and prices
My husband and I had a great birthday dinner here. The skull décor is great throughout, and the food and drinks were terrific. The service was top notch too.
We split the Costa Azul stuffed shrimp as an appetizer, as well as the Pork Belly Bites. I had the Japanese Tacos and he had the Bone Marrow Tacos - both great. The Whiskey Smash drink (without lemon for me) was delicious, as was the Old Fashioned and Skinny Margarita. A really cool place to have a great meal.
There is street parking if you can find it, otherwise we parked a few doors down inside a residential/retail parking garage and that worked out fine.
Service is great! We got free drinks from our server who served us last time we were there!
Only setback to rating 5/5 was that the people in the table behind us starting smoking weed and none of the staff said anything
Shaina was the server over the top, helpers went out of their way to get answers.Happy hour on Saturday don’t get that to often! Eat so much , family skipped dinner, great food
Excellent mexican fusion food and you can't miss with any of the margaritas...YUM! Had dinner with a large group here on Saturday around 5pm. Excellent food and fun music. Plenty of parking near this cantina if drive. What a gem Little Italy is if you want to miss the craziness of the Gaslamp on the weekend.
This restaurant was fabulous! We were seated quickly, the setting was unique and fun, and our waitress Maria was wonderful. She got us our generously portioned drinks quickly, and followed right away with the best chips & salsa we've ever had. She was clearly very busy, but took the time to talk to me and my husband, comment on liking our outfits, asked how long we'd been married, etc. It was so refreshing to have a waitress that was so friendly and conversational! The dinners (taco sampler and burrito) were delicious and very filling. If we're ever in San Diego again, I hope we can go back to King & Queen Cantina!
Great atmosphere, great wait staff. Very friendly and informative as their menu can be a bit overwhelming for first timers---but well worth it!
Drinks were yummy, tacos were yummy SUPER tasty with a twist.
Loved the ambiance and music right up until they killed the music for the TV show. Great food and service
The hostesses did an amazing job accommodating our party of 8, that had to be reserved as two parties of 4. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive and was able to break up our checks by couples without a single complaint. She was also accommodating to any modifications or substitutions that were asked to be made to some orders and was sweet enough to bring out a birthday dessert for the birthday guy!
We had a party of 10 and we where seated on the tier part of the restaurant. We couldn't of ask for a better table. The food was delicious and the margaritas were great.
The overall experience was great ! The waiter was super nice and made sure we got everything correct and check on us often. The down side to this they need to have a better system in reservations I made mine online in advance, they call and confirm the reservation. But when I got their I had to wait more than 30 minutes in order to get sitted.
I would definitely recommend. Service and food were awesome! Drinks were delicious. Atmosphere was great.
The food was delicious but it was a little too loud to talk to each other without yelling.
Too noisy could barely hear each other. Love the place but music needs to be turned down, it’s bot a club
Amazing fusion tacos and great muddled margaritas!! Loved the vibe of the place. Our waitress was either new or clueless. Never gave us silverware and didn’t know some of the menu items, also wasn’t friendly. But the vibe, drinks and food made up for it!
Overall experience was good. Server was very attentive and polite. The only issue is the food portions you get. My husband and I ordered a fajita shareable entree and paid $38 for it. We did not get enough food at all and only two tortillas to start with. The portion of shrimp and chicken was not worth the money at all.
My friends and I came here for Sunday brunch. Two had to cancel due to a fussy two month old (it happens) but we were graciously accommodated and served by Nicole. After our entrees came, our server asked us if we could move tables after we’re done with our meal because they were overbooked and had to turn down other reservations. I spoke to the manager and advised him I would not move my table since the couple sitting across from us was holding a table for 8 and the table next to it only had four guests at a table for 8. This truly reflects poor management on the managers part. As it turns out, the manager had seated that couple there as they waited over an hour for the rest of their party to show up! Try and figure that one out....
Aside from this part, our server Nicole was awesome. Nice ambiance. The carne asada plate with a sunny side up egg for $18 isn’t worth it when the steak came out overcooked and they served runny egg whites only for me to send it back and get two overhard cooked eggs. Not what you expect for $18! Also, their cheesecake trio is a great presentation but they over caramelized it. And one of the cheesecakes was still frozen! Don’t think I will be coming back here unless it’s just for chips and guacamole or a margarita. Thank you for your time
Dining at King & Queen Cantina was a blast! All the staff members were friendly, the ambiance was great and the food was amazing too! I definitely recommend anyone to check out the place!
Make sure to try the Tijuana. It was very, very delicious!
The food was amazing ! The flight margarita is taking me back there sooner than later. Location has spectacular views of the city 🌃
