King & Queen Cantina - San Diego
Great food. Great service.
Nice welcome and great friendly service throghout
Spicy Margarita was good but weak.
Nachies with carnitas decent
Grilled fish tacos and house special excellent
My vegetable taco platter bland
Daughters burger decent-too well done-good fries but had no “real” ketchup.
Not really kid friendly.
Noise level too high to have a conversation other than person directly across or next to you.
Gave 4 stars due to service. After writing this probably overall deserves 3.5.
Won’t be back due to noise level—no fun
Lively venue for date night in Little Italy.
Went to dinner for my boyfriend’s birthday with a party of 7. Everyone was extremely satisfied with the food, location, service, etc. 10/10 recommend!
The food was delicious, especially the pork belly and the Japanese tacos. Tables for two are a loiter short on space and close together. Very cool vibe. Great margaritas!
First time. Recommended by a friend. Went for my birthday, 9 of us. Food was good. Drinks were good. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Only given 2 hour time limit which was kind of a bummer. Only because with a large party, by the time we all get our food and drinks, feels like no time to hang out and enjoy more rounds. But overall a great place. I'd go again.
Using the open table app to reserve a table was quick and easy. The host and servers were extremely nice and helpful. The food was surprisingly delicious and I would highly recommend!!
Our go to Mexican restaurant in Little Italy. Fantastic sangria (Holiday sangria, served year-round) and outstanding happy hour menu and dinner. Nice, friendly, energetic vibe.
Fun vibe. Good food. Margaritas were great!
Fantastic service! We were a party of 9 and Daniel was super attentive the entire time, even adjusted our seating which I’m sure wasn’t an easy task. Always a great time with great drinks.
Made a reservation, wouldn’t seat us if our party wasn’t complete- which we totally understood. Decided to change the amount of people to 5 instead of 8 and informed the staff. Finally got a table after waiting for almost 2 hours - weren’t that bothered. They offered to give us taquitos on the house but ended up charging us. AND the waiter decided to charge his own 32 dollar tip and added random charges. The waiter (his name was Noe) was not the best and won’t tip him if we go again or will ask to get another server.
The food is OKAY, the drinks are OKAY, you’re basically paying for the fun ambiance.
Our first visit. Restaurant is very hip, very loud, & very fun. Food was delicious and out of the ordinary Mexican fare. And the service was superb and very friendly. We’ll definitely return!
We had a great time. Great waitress Elena.
The waitress was brilliant at looking after us but the kitchen seemed to have let her down. So it took rather a long time for food to arrive.
It was amazing ! Foot , GOOD. Drinks are alright but can’t complain (:
Nice place! Great happy hour menu (had the Fish Tacos—fish is Basa and quite good). Decent tap selection and solid cocktail menu. Very well stocked bar so they can make about anything you want.
Not your typical Mexican restaurant. This place has a unique twist on Mexican food - lots of different taco options and huge margaritas. Everything was delicious and our waitress was wonderful. She knew everything on the menu and made suggestions on what sauces to add to our meals. Would highly recommend!
Great food and ambience 👍
EVERYTHING WAS SUPER DELICIOUS THE SERVICE WAS OKAY. THE ONLY REASON WHY I WILL GIVE IT A 4/5 IS BECAUSE I FELT RUSHED. MADE RESERVATIONS AT 7PM AND THEY WERE CLOSING AT 8PM DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS. WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION IT WAS NEVER MENTIONED THAT THE RESTAURANT CLOSED AT 8PM.
My girlfriends and I get together every holiday season to celebrate Christmas. Each year we try to go to a different restaurant. I personally have been here on multiple occasions but my girlfriends hadn’t been. They loved it!!
Everything was delicious! Food came out incredibly fast. Good service, yummy drinks. Will for sure come back!
I’ve been here twice now, once for happy hour and
Great experience, ambiance was great as were the Margaritas. The food was delicious, I’ll be back for sure. Alicia our server, made the night even more lively.
Good service, great food. Drinks are a little pricy
The ceviche was really good. The tacos and burrito were delicious. I had the Mas Chingon Old Fashioned and I really liked it.
the service was atrocious but the food delightful
We were late for our reservation, totally our fault. When checking in the host said they would seat us next. We waited for over an hour and ended up seating ourselves at the bar. We checked in multiple times before that and were being told just a few minutes each time. Service at the bar was great and the food was amazing! Price was really good too. Finally got the text that our table was ready when we were finishing up our meal. Would go again but during week not on weekend.
Came for a friends birthday. Everything from the food to service was amazing! Definitely will be coming back.
Did not try any food. However, the food did look amazing. Must try margarita flight!!!
The only thing that bothered me was that i had requested to sit upstairs since i booked the reservations long ago and they ended up sitting us down downstairs .
I was unable to give my friends the experience i wanted them to have
Disappointed you can only stay 2 hours on weekends, felt like you were rushed to eat your food & drinks. Food was okay, nothing to brag about
Wonderful food, great staff, awesome drinks and exciting décor.
This place is a hit and miss. I have been here a few times and there are times when service is amazing then other times when service makes it not worth going any more. The only reason I come back is for the food. Food here is great and always delicious! a
Service was very good nice but food was not to the level expected for an upscale restaurant. We were there for Brunch restaurant was loud. Maybe Brunch just isn’t there thing but whit the choices we have in San Diego for an amazing Brunch experience this would not be a place I would return
There was a total of 9 people in out brunch party. We got there at 11:30AM on a Saturday. Right off the bat as soon as we sat down our waiter Leo told us that the bottomless mimosas won’t be served to us if we are roudy, loud, basically a nuisance. That we can’t chug them cause we will be cut off. Mind you we haven’t even had the chance to order ANYTHING. We were all just saying hello to each other since we are a great group of friends. So Leo pretty much killed our vibe since he came over to regulate our table before we had a chance to order anything. We were pre-judged because of our energy. Then when we were being poured our drinks one of our friends asked a question about the alcohol. He then proceeded to tel is he’s a recovering alcoholic and that he knows the struggle and battle. So at this point our whole mood is killed. We cannot relate to his struggles as we are not going though that. We felt truly disrespected and attacked. The Food was mediocre. But I don’t think I’ll be back here since our energy is too much for this place to handle and the fact that we were pre judged and regulated as if we were kids.
This place is great for any type of celebration, it has such a great vibe. The staff was really friendly and on top of everything.
All around an amazing experience! I went for my birthday. I was excited for the margarita flight and the churro cart. Our server was very attentive and had a fun, positive attitude. The place is beautiful, food is amazing and drinks did not disappoint! I already recommended it to one of my friends and she will be going for her birthday this Thursday. Thank you!
Delicious fajitas! Amazing margaritas! Cody was our waiter and he was excellent!
Visited a busy Saturday Thatshown to the table at the booked time, menu is interesting covering a lot of varied tastes. We ordered a starter to share and two mains with a side, the nacho starter was the best my wife had ever had apparently. Was disappointed that immediately we started to eat the starter the mains were delivered, I know it was a busy night but trying us to rush us through our meal is not good service,
The House Tacos were another good choice by my wife while I had the belly pork burrito which was tasty,
To drink we had the Golden margarita which comes with an extra shot which was a pleasant experience.
The house does set a two hour limit on the table but it does feel they are trying to rush you through much faster than that.
After walking past it multiple times on multiple visits to San Diego, we finally decided to visit and quite honestly, we are glad we did. King and Queen was a great place to have dinner. My wife and I had the pork belly tacos, the fish tacos and the bone marrow tacos--plus the chips and guacamole. (Plus a mescal tasting) WAY more than we could realistically eat but we tried! We really enjoyed our meal and would return the next time we are in San Diego. (there is so more much more on their menu so there are lots of things we need to try.)
