Kilkie’s Seafood Bar and Restaurant
Warm and inviting restaurant and great food! Menu is great, especially for vegetarians and vegans :)
First time there & overall good. Impossible to judge service under the covid rules, it was fine.
Food - 3 of our table were very happy, none of which were seafood. I had the seafood linguine. It wasn't great. It came out last and was barely warm. Returned to kitchen & was brough back hot. Linguine was way over cooked, like mush. It was under seasoned overall, very little taste. The sole langoustine was delicious, the rest sadly was bland, over cooked and disappointing. My favourite dish in italy is spaghetti alle vongole, it is always simple & always spectacular, this was over complex and missed its target.
We probably would go back, but I'd be cautious about ordering seafood which is not ideal...
Great, food great atmosphere
Excellent Food if anything too much food so make sure your hungry
Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff The manager especially was very good
Slightly slow service but not unacceptable The only issue we had was that we chose to have the table in the window and got a blast of cold as people were coming and going but we got the feeling we could have asked to to be moved without any problem.
Cannot fault anything.
Service and food fantastic with a great ambience.
Ambience and service were fine. Food wise some dishes were better than others. Seafood linguine was pretty good. Prawns were over cooked and small. The truffle chips were what irked me the most.....average frozen french fries with a thimble full of Parmesan and negligible truffle......and we paid £6.99 for them - twice because we got two portions! More fool us.
Excellent menu! Excellent food! Great service! A thoroughly enjoyable evening
Staff were attentive and lovely, food was great.
Ambiance was lacking though, maybe due to Covid measures but the decor needed something more to make the dining experience and evening more of an occasion, rather than just a table and chairs and food!
Downstairs was better but upstairs felt empty, luckily the staff made up for that and we had a lovely evening.
Enjoyed a midweek lunch with friends.
Good observance of Covid19 protocols throughout
Food selected good ( Soft Shell Crab and Seafood Risotto )
Service very good
Good selection, food was lovely and staff were very attentive. What more could you ask for? 😊
Birthday meal, food was lovely - nothing to complain about service wise. Pleasant evening
Birthday lunch for our friend. It was good but not the usual quality of food. We will go back as they may have had an “off” day
My third time at Kilkies and won t be my last, they have super deal 2courses £16.96, during the week, without the offer at weekends still good value for money, good cocktails , my favourite flirtini.
Lovely looking restaurant with really nice staff. Shame the food is lacking finesse and flavour which lets the place down.
Excellent range of fresh seafood but also importantly excellent vegetarian options. Friendly and attentive staff - recommend the table under the stairs for 2! We'll be back!
great time, great food! thank you :)
Lovely food.Efficient friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely coming back.
Lovely food and fantastic service, would definitely go back
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Good service & ambiance.
First lunch out post lockdown and first visit to Kilkie’s I was not disappointed!!!
Nice table in window - varied menu choice - I changed my mind at least 3 times
Had prawn and crayfish risotto which was delicious and my daughter had haddock with poached egg equally delicious
Service was efficient and attentive- reasonably priced
Can’t wait to come back again
Unfortunately was quite disappointed. Made a note with my booking and called up the restaurant before hand to request a table which I was advised would be reserved for me. When I arrived this wasn’t the case and someone had this table but it wasn’t busy at all and only 3 tables of guests in the whole restaurant. We were not given the specials menu either. It wasn’t until we were half way through our meal that I noticed the waitress gave the table next to us a specials list. This was even more frustrating as I struggled to find something from the
Menu as it was a reduced selection. I was looking forward to our first meal out in months but sadly wouldn’t go back. I don’t feel the quality of the food matched the value.
The service was great but the food was below average in my opinion. Paid £9 for two tiny scallops! The crab was dry and mostly salad. They could easily make improvements on decor as well. Like the candles are sat on little metal dishes that are plain and cheap looking, could easily fix that. Has so much potential so a shame it wasn’t that enjoyable.
Food was nice and well priced.
Service was also good.
We came for my fathers 60th and sisters 30th, food was amazing and great value for market, definitely the best restaurant for value on leigh Broadway.
Great food and friendly staff would recommend for food or just a drink and some small plates
Very good choice including tapas & main meals. As they had just reopened some choices were unavailable but that still left lots to choose from. We had tapas - really lovely but quite an expensive way to eat there. My only gripe is that they only sell Prosecco in 200ml bottles, would have preferred it by the glass as it’s easier to keep track of your consumption.
This was our first night out since restaurants were allowed to open. This place did a fantastic job, great service, delicious food and distancing measures in place. Given this was the first night Kilkie's had been open with the new measures it all went really smoothly. Really glad we went, you will not be disappointed with the food.
First time back there since Covid outbreak.... no worries, all cleaning was thorough, staff wore masks and tables spaced apart.
Food great as usual... can not fault this place...
This was our first lunch out after restaurants were able to re-open following lock down. The atmosphere was relaxed. The staff wore a face covering and the tables were clean and clear. Fresh cutlery was brought out with our food. It was table service only. No drinking at the bar. The food was delicious. We will definitely return soon.
We had expected The Sand Bar might be quiet, what with the onset of coronavirus. However, it was very busy, and with good reason.
Food was excellent and service cheerful and reasonably efficient, despite how busy they were. Very good atmosphere with quite a young crowd for a restaurant that is reasonably priced, but not cheap
Sand Bar clearly has a good reputation locally (we've only just moved to the area) and it seems fully deserved
excellent food and service. i would recommend to everyone
Great food, great service. Really enjoyed our dinner. Thankyou
Excellent food, good value and great staff. I suffer with allergies and unfortunately had a reaction whilst I was in the restaurant (anaphylaxis) - nothing to do with the food I might add! - the staff were unbelieavably helpful and calm especially Hugo who was brilliant! Thank you.
Always great food and service, even though they were 2 staff down service was still great.
Always good and a slight change to menu this time with new things to try!
We had a lovely meal whilst catching up with friends, the atmosphere was lovely, the service un-rushed and the food was excellent
Very good, me and my wife will be going backs
No reference was made to a themed night therefore i would have also expected the standard menu and and valentines menu. Food was lovely neverless
It was a set meal for valentine 3 courses for £37 but main course had no side dishes inc everything extra £4
We will be back soon!! Excellent location, beautiful food and amazing service. Couldn't find fault in anything! Valentine's set menu was spot on!
