   We arrived with our booking we were told the kitchen was closed! We were seated upstairs on our own so may as well been in our living room. The table was not clear as you go and had to hand to the server. I have been before and service was slow it was slow even though the was hardly any tables. Won’t rush back

   I’m not vegetarian but felt like choosing from the vegetarian options for a change. It was lovely but a bit pricey comparing the cost of ingredients compared to fish or meat options on the menu.

   Another great afternoon at Kilkies. One of the few Leigh on Sea restaurants to offer good food all day, so great if your planning a lazy afternoon lunch and drinks. Great service, delicious paella and we moved from inside eating to outside cocktails to enjoy the sun.

   Really good quality, healthy food. Lovely serving staff. Area around the restaurant a bit grey and dismal but there is nothing the restaurant can do about that!

   What ever you do don't go to this restaurant. I booked a table at 7 pm on Saturday 2nd off April for my wife's birthday as soon as we got there the staff told us they didn't have half the menu. I said can I still have a surf and turf they said they didn't have lobster but we can have a prawn on top off steak for same price as lobster. I told them that your menu on Internet says it comes with lobster the staff said that was old menu and shouldn't be on there .we walked out and went 2 doors along to a tai restaurant had brilliant meal so what ever u do don't book for a meal here manager should be sacked very rude

   Mother’s Day lunch and we were not told there was a set menu. So a fish restaurant only has a choice of roasts for main course, all served with cabbage, leek, roast potatoes, carrots and Yorkshire pudding. None of which,I think partnered well with cod or confit duck or salmon. So dry chicken or vegetarian roast anyone? I think everything was pre cooked and reheated (not very well). Service was fine and we were asked after eating if everything was OK and will admit said OK as my mother hates a ‘fuss’ and it was not worth upsetting her by complaining or sending dishes back. They mentioned how busy they were and I wonder if by a short term gain of overcharging for poor quality food on a special occasion they won’t loose custom in the long run as we certainly won’t return, it’s a shame as we are always looking for good local restaurants. Also the restaurant looks nothing like the photos on their website which has white tablecloths and comfy looking chairs, the reality was bare tables with plastic table mats that had the drinks menu printed on them and hard upright wooden chairs. The wine prices were approx £3 more in the restaurant than shown on the website. Wi

   Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Food was delicious & good value. Drinks prices are average .. we had a really lovely evening and will definitely return

    Went on the 18/03/22 staff welcoming Service prompt,food was lovely,cocktails tasty.was seated upstairs and there was not many diners but we didn’t mind that not sure what’s it like when busy but overall very good.
