We offer 2 seatings per day at 5:30 and 7:30 PM. Check in time is 15 minutes before boil time. Please confirm your orders with us directly ahead of your reservation.

Fish Boils- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Cajun Boils- Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Fish boils are Door County’s only indigenous dish, brought to the Peninsula by Scandinavian immigrants.

Our Masterboiler slices fresh fish into chunks, then boils it with baby red potatoes and sweet onions. The fish boil kettle is brought to a boil over an open fire… when the fish is cooked to perfection, a small amount of kerosene is poured into the base of the fire. The result? A spectacular burst of flames and the famous boil-over that leaves the food ready to be immediately served at your table inside the restaurant. Fish, potatoes, and onions served with fresh lemons, melted butter, coleslaw, homemade sweet breads and Door County cherry pie.

Our Cajun Shrimp Boil with additional Lobster tail option is offered Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 5:30 & 7:30. We require a reservation including the complete food order for every member of the party. Visit add-ons within this Opentable app. Please check-in 20 minutes early with the hostess at the wine and beer bar. You're welcome to grab yourself a drink and make your way out back, we have seating setup around the kettle with a waterview. When the food is finished, you'll be served at your table. PLEASE NOTE: SELECT THE LOBSTER TAIL ADD-ON IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS IN ADDITION TO THE CAJUN SHRIMP BOIL. We have kids' options available!

The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The meal is served in a bowl with spicy broth like a soup. Intimate restaurant. Something different. Owner very personable.

I understand this place sells the experience. The experience itself was ok. Food could have been better and portions for that price could be better too. Everyone was friendly but I would not make it a point to dine here again.

My girlfriend and I went for the Cajun boil on Tuesday October22. Food was delicious, presentation/boil was nice, ambience was pleasant. We felt that this was a great antidote to the typical whitefish boil. I would highly recommend Kettle Black.

Food was average and arrived cold. We had the Cajun shrimp boil with lobster. We ordered an extra piece ofcornbread and where charged $8 for the four of us. With what we paid for the dinner, that didn’t seem necessary. Also it seemed strange that the regular fish boils included pie for dessert but the Cajun didn’t. The boil takes place in an alley like space. We love Door County fishboils but will not return here. .
