Welcome to Kestrel, a new venue where celebrated chef and TV personality Richard Blais imparts his Left Coast take on American classics, signature cuts + coastal catches in a fresh, California- modern space that evokes the energy of surrounding flora + fauna. Perched atop the entryway stairs at Indian Wells Golf Resort, the restaurant reveals an airy, earth-toned dining room and expansive bar that invites in soaring views of mountain peaks, verdant fairways and ombre sunsets. The outdoor terrace, complete with open-air bar and table seating, frames the perfect social setting to enjoy the region's culinary style and natural allure.     Food was great My Fish first served with a bad sauce Not on menu, but new Halibut was Excellent. CrispyFrench Fries were great Service was Tops We had dinner on upper patio

    Overall a very good place. The room is large with great views. We had drinks at the bar then dinner. Both the bartender and server were enthusiastic and fun. The signature cocktails are interesting and theatrical if not a bit too sweet. The food is very good. We had the sea bass which is terrific although it does not share that it is a curry based dish, so a bit of a surprise. The fish was cooked perfectly. Also pasta special was delicious. My biggest criticism is really the cost. Drinks were $25 each and dinner for 4 was over $400. This is a casual restaurant in a golf club that I would want to go to frequently for fun and interesting food. It is priced more like fine dining. Prices like this make it a few times a year at best, kind of place. I would prefer a less costly, more small, shared plates kind of place that one could more affordably visit more frequently.

    We came in for a late lunch as they do not offer dinner service on Sunday. Made a reservation for outdoor dining and asked for a special seat since this was a birthday celebration. We were seated directly next to a table of 4 even though the entire place was open. We had not been there before so we just accepted the table and went on. We ordered the pork and shrimp rolls and “riblets” to start. The rolls came out over cooked and seemed more like burned Lumpia. The name “riblet” conjures up small bite-size pieces but were in fact a half-rack of ribs that they cut into individual pieces (still on the bone). Those had a great flavor but be warned they could easily be a ‘main’. They were accompanied by macaroni salad that had an oddly tart taste akin to coleslaw dressing. We did not think it blended well with the spices. Mains were the double smash burger with fries and the beef dip sandwich. Both were good for what they were and cooked as ordered. Our waitperson and the support staff were very good from start to finish and made the visit feel special by bringing a nice little surprise dessert over for the birthday guest. We were surprised that the experience felt more appropriate for a nice meal after a round of golf as opposed to a “culinary experience” that the marketing seems to suggest- at least for lunch.

    It was a very enjoyable brunch and event. Every person working there was attentive, caring and customer service oriented. Richard was energetic, engaging and funny. Would highly recommend trying the Kestrel.
