It is a compound of "I" (to stay) and "Sakaya" (sake shop), indicating that izakaya originated from sake shops that allowed customers to sit on the premises and drink.

    Love Kawa Ni. Every dish is consistently phenomenal with unique flavors that hit every time. One of the best restaurants in the area and my number #1 favorite in Westport. Whether near or far, certainly worth a drive.

    Loved the new burger! As always the food was great-shaved broccoli is always perfect but the service is even better. Melissa is an efficient server and has a wonderful calmness about her that fits with the restaurant. My favorite place to eat in Westport and we will return again and again.

    The food hits greats in an amazing way, every dish tasted so good. I love the ambience of this restaurant also the staff is very kind and ensure your experience is smooth and seamless. Highly recommend.

    Ella is a fabulous server. Very knowledgeable, engaging and passionate about Kawa Ni. The food is awesome also!

    Kawa Ni is my favorite restaurant in Westport . The broccoli salad is outstanding and easily enough for two. The sashimi is top shelf and I cant live without the crab rangoons. The ramen is excellent as well, Something for everyone here. It hets packed on the weekend, but they usually have room at the bar for walk ins.

    Wow! What an incredible dinner! The service, dietary accommodations, food, and service were superb! Chef Chris is an amazingly talented chef!

    Kawa Ni has a special vibe, amazing food, and fantastic cocktails. The menu is elevated and uses unique and seasonal ingredients that you may not always be familiar with upfront but you are encouraged to ask questions which, in the end, leads to a deeper experience. Highly recommend spending an evening here!
