I like this place. Maybe it was the B service team but it was really poor. Took 10 minutes to get the valet guy to acknowledge we were there (we were the only car), another 5 minutes to have someone seat us and another 10 minutes to have someone come to our table. Food was good. Limited menu but quality. Then it took 20 minutes waiting for the valet guy to get off his smoke break to get our car. Lesson learned, I will self park. Maybe it was just a bad night.
Excellent Steak Frites & Roasted Salmon. Cooked perfectly. Truffle fries and Brussel Sprouts made great starters. Delicious meal . Thank you
Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious food, and I highly recommend the Skinny Spice Margarita!
Amazing service on par with the amazing food. The art deco building providing the ambience was phenomenal.
Really enjoyed our evening out. Great waitress and food/drinks were delicious.
The servers were great and the food was delicious!
We had eaten at the Katherine before for a family birthday celebration and had a wonderful experience. So, when great friends came in town we immediately made reservations at the Katherine. Our experience this time was the exact opposite of the previous evening. From beginning to end it was underwhelming. Our server was inexperienced, the service slow and the food average. Our sides were forgotten entirely. It was embarrassing since we had raved about our previous dinner there.
We had heard mixed reviews from others but since our experience had been so good we assumed the kinks had been worked out. Obviously not.
Really tasty!! Very elevated finger food fun with the tartare, shrimp cocktail, truffled frittes and Brussels sprouts.
We are looking forward to returning to the Raw Bar. Great food. Katherine's menu is appropriately limited. Our dishes were well prepared. Our waitperson was respectful, watchful, and invisible.
Great service and delicious food , attentive to keeping customers appropriately spaced apart, staff all wearing masks , hand sanitizer available everywhere , and outdoor seating available . Overall great dining experience despite Covid.
Lovely food. Good drinks. A nice end to a day of travel.
Food was great, service was great. I’d recommend the ribeye steak & flat bread app to anyone. If you’re as luck as we were they’ll also have the grilled oysters special the day you decide to eat there.
I want to love this place SO bad! The space is beautiful, and it’s such a great repurposing of a beautiful building. BUT... we ordered three steak frittes, two medium-rare and one medium, and they were ALL medium well. Also, I ordered an oyster appetizer which was not turned in to the kitchen. I had to remind the server I’d ordered it so it came with my entree. I feel like this place is very good, but in order to survive, especially in these challenging times. It needs to be exceptional. They need a leadership team that can take them to o the next level.
The food was incredible and the service was delightful. The beauty of this building is icing on the cake! We had a wonderful experience.
Food was fantastic. Great outdoor area
We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with dinner at The Katherine. Everyone at the restaurant was extraordinarily nice and made every effort to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The manager, Erin, welcomed us and checked to be sure everything was to our liking. Our server was attentive, but did not hover. She was so friendly and pleasant. I wish I could remember her name! The food was excellent. My wife had the salmon and I had the New York Strip, with the roquefort au poivre sauce/butter and fingerling potatoes. Both of us could not remember having enjoyed a better meal. And then our server offered us a complimentary dessert since it was our anniversary! We chose the s'mores pot au creme, which was a brand new dessert, and we were the first ones to try it. It was amazing - chocolate mousse/pot au creme with sugary granola topped with marshmallow that had just a slight, smoky tinge to it. Our server told us that the executive chef had recently left and that the sous chef had taken over. I'm glad we came when the sous chef was in charge of the kitchen because everything was perfect! I cannot say enough about this dinner - the food was great, the service was wonderful, the ambience was pleasant, cheerful, and fun, and everyone in the restaurant seemed to enjoy ensuring that our experience was top-notch. I do not write many reviews, but The Katherine and its staff deserve more than 5 stars and every accolade possible. Thank you so much!
Very nice establishment. It was easy to obtain a reservation. Our wait staff was very nice and the food was good. It was a little hard to find using GPS and you’ll need to use the valet parking (it’s free). The food was very good but the brussel sprouts were undercooked and we had to remind them to bring one of the dishes we ordered. There were few people there when we were so it was relatively quiet but I can imagine that it could get loud easily in there. I would go again, but probably not my first choice.
Our experience at Katharine Brasserie she was extremely knowledgable and every recommendation was delicious. From our drinks, to our main course, there wasn't a minute that went by that we did not enjoy. It was a beautiful setting and a fantastic atmosphere. Definitely will go back again. Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful evening.
Our waitress was very great. helpful and knowledgeable about the menu items.
My trout was really good, wine selection was decent, and our dinner guests enjoyed their meals as well.
Great service. Really enjoyed our dinner.
Great service atmosphere and food! We really enjoyed our food and the beverages are great
Service was slow. Wait staff was stretched too thin, it appeared.
Delicious food, great service, and vibrant atmosphere!
Excellent meal for a hotel restaurant. Duck breast lovely, trout vey good. Simple Caesar, perfectly dressed. Not really a French restaurant and pretty pricey for the food itself, but a nice respite after a day on the road.
It was fantastic. My wife and I loved everything we had. Must try the escargot!!!!
Our experiences at the Katharine have been uneven at best and unsatisfactory at worst. It's a beautiful space and it's unfortunate that the service and food don't match that. Our server was very pleasant, although it was a while before she took our drink orders. Soup came out lukewarm and the fettuccini with bolognese arrived cold and with hardly any sauce. Very disappointing. This has happened to us in one way or another every time we've dined there. A Kimpton property should have a better managed restaurant.
Great location beautiful old building
Very expensive cocktail was $26 for a Manhattan
Bouillabaisse was really bad no flavor with some cut up potatoes and weak broth
3 mussels and one cut up shrimp not hearty at all for almost 30 bucks
Day after Valentine’s Day and they were still serving a limited menu (please restaurants—stop doing this—take enough reservations for what you can serve and stop there and keep your regular menu—don’t try to Increase the number of guests you can serve by limiting the menu.)
But the food was exceptionally prepared and the service top notch with some excellent recommendations by our waiter. The noice a bit much at times given that the restaurant opens to the hotel lobby with a bar area next to it but not a deal breaker. Definitely will be back.
It’s a beautiful place, the cocktails were amazing, wine selection was great the food was outstanding, however we had to wait 45 mins for a reservation we made more than a month ago, we were there for Valentine’s Day and were squeezed in between two small tables were we could literally touch elbows with two other couples there was no privacy whatsoever and it was so loud we couldn’t even conversate with one another not the Valentines experience we had hoped for so we were disappointed with that
Well paced service despite a very busy Valentine’s Day!
Good food but slow staff and delivery of meal.
We visited for a Valentine's Day dinner and enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Drinks and entrees were a bit expensive though fairly priced for the quality and presentation of the dishes. My steak was cooked perfectly, but my wife's was not -- a bit disappointing for a high-end restaurant, but our servers were very gracious and corrected the error immediately. Overall it was a great experience, and we would dine here again.
We experienced very slow service. It took almost an hour to get our entree. My husband had a steak, which he thought was good. I had a special - scallops and sweet potatoes. We also ordered Mac and cheese. I was not impressed with the Mac or scallops, especially considering the price of the food.
Wonderful experience for a pre Valentine’s and birthday dinner! Love the atmosphere and the people! Thank you!
We had an excellent meal. There are few places in the area where you can really get a gourmet meal like this.
Great food, wonderful service. Pricey but worth it.
Service and food was excellent. We enjoyed every part of our dining experience.
Maybe the Sunday brunch is better on a non-super bowl day
We had a long anniversary dinner, and went early enough to avoid the noise and crowds. The food was very good, as was the service. Would go again.
