This was our first time going to hibachi since covid, we were impressed with how they separated the guest at the hibachi table, along with the dividers for separate parties. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious.

Food was great my chef was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. My only gripe is that we got there around 7:45 for our 8pm reservation and didn't get seated until around 8:10. I was told that 2 chefs called in sick and that was the delay. Outside of that everything was wonderful.

The food portion sizes were smaller compared to other Kanki locations. Also while we were preparing to pay for our meal the staff begin to clean off our table while we were still sitting. The man was standing at our table staring at us as in a way to try to make us leave faster.

We didn't get seated until 20 minutes after our reservation. We had terrible service - the waiter didn't come back after we ordered, not even to refill water. He asked a man with another party if he wanted teriyaki and broccoli with his chicken, and he didn't offer that option; however, he upcharged me for it. The waiter also specifically asked if there were any special occasions, a man at our table stated that it was a birthday celebration for the girl with him - I'm not sure why the waiter asked because they acknowledged her birthday in no way. We waited almost 10 minutes after everyone had eaten and received their to go boxes, and the waiter never brought the check. We went up to the front to pay because we had already been there almost 2 hours by that time, and the girls at the front seemed completely disgruntled that we wanted to pay.
The food was disappointing - definitely the worst hibachi experience we've ever had. The chicken was dry and my husband's was of unacceptably poor quality. He ordered the Kanki steak dinner - it was a very thin piece of ribeye with so much fat that the small amount he got after the chef cut off the bulk was practically inedible. I let the hostess know that we had a bad experience, and she shrugged and said, "ok, I'll tell the manager". Go anywhere else in the Durham area for hibachi so you don't waste your time or money - Chinese takeout would have been better.

The cook was very humorous and completely knew how to grab the tables attention. Since I made the reservation it caused us not to have to wait over our expected time and we were called to our table exactly at 7:30pm. The hostesses and everybody else were very welcoming and helpful.

I took my aunt here for dinner. I have been to all the Kanki's in the triangle several times, and been to other Japanese steakhouses for tappenyaki/hibachi MANY, MANY times. It seems like b/c Kanki is the "big name" they don't really try anymore. They know people will come so there's not a lot of effort put into the overall experience or the cooking anymore. They are STILL doing the same "show". 'Egg roll, choo-choo onion, onion volcano, rice heartbeat'.... I ordered the lobster and it was bad. This is the third time! I always ask for them NOT to overcook it and they always do. Why do I keep ordering? B/c I love lobster and I HOPE they'll prepare it as I ask! Nowadays, there's SO MUCH RICE and no where near enough protein. The steaks have shrunk dramatically and once they overcook the shrimp, they're itty bitty salad shrimp. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Smh.. jus saying 🤷🏾‍♀️

It was a bit expensive but definitely enjoyed the little show from the cook and the vibe of the place and the food was definitely worth it loved the food

For what we paid, we should've had better service at lunch. We can get sushi or hibachi just about anywhere with the same if not better quality that what we were served. Moreover, we waited for our drinks to be refilled far too long and then we had to chase someone down just to pay our bill.

We enjoyed the food but, the way he was serving the food was not equal we ended up with plates full of onions and hardly any zucchini we felt like more of the good things were served to the rest of the table he was playful with them and seemed like they were getting special treatment. The waitress didn’t come back to ask us if we needed more water or anything for that matter. We never saw her til she brought the Togo boxes. We really felt like the rest of the table got treated like they were paying customers and we got what was left over. Their were no tricks or anything that u usually see at kanki it was definitely the worst experience we’ve ever had there especially for paying so much money.

Fast food style Hibachi restaurant with terrible Sushi. No soap in the mens bathroom ! Party of 4 with one member run-in late and the restaurant would not seat us until they arrived. Sad place, do not waste your time or money.

Even with social distancing, it was a great experience. Wonderful staff. Pricey but you get a lot of food.

Everything was delicious. The drinks were reasonably priced and tasted good. The food was all perfectly cooked. Our chef was very friendly and we had a great time. And the restaurant took necessary precautions for Covid.
