Came for diner. Menu was somewhat limited. Chicken parm was less than average. Watery and bland pasta and chicken was overcooked (or recooked). Other entrees were okay, but underwhelming. First time at this restaurant. Unfortunately, disappointed.

What a delightful surprise! A delicious, affordable meal on Oahu. Portions were generous and the service was as friendly and efficient as anywhere we’ve ever been. Found them on Open Table and am so glad I did!

Fantastic food, great service, great prices. Completely worth the drive, especially if you are staying at a hotel and getting price gouged for mediocre food! Everything we ordered was delicious! Poke nachos, Baja fish tacos, fish and chips, and Margarita pizza.

We decided on this trip to rent a car so we could experience some island restaurants off resort. This was by far the best food and service and value of all the restaurants we tried while on the island. I just wish we could eat hear again and again!

For those of you who read my previous reviews, you've already seen what my favorite dishes are. This time, there was a spaghetti special with garlic bread. Usually, I don't like spaghetti noodles, but the waitress did an excellent job of describing the mixture of ingredients and how the sauce was made (not red sauce), so I decided why not, I'll try something different tonight and ordered the special. THANK GOODNESS I DID!!! The noodles were thin spaghetti (which I don't mind), with shrimp, asparagus, mushrooms, breaded ogo, and something else, in a butter garlic type sauce. The blend was perfection! It was like finally having something you never knew you needed. I savored each bite and didn't want to over eat because I had to save room for my favorite dessert (the affogato), but I didn't want to stop eating. However, reason took over, and I stopped. I took home the other half so I could have dessert. The following day, I ate my leftovers for dinner instead and couldn't believe how good it tasted. Whenever this special comes around again, if I'm there, I'm having it! Thanks, Kalapawai, for out doing yourself yet again.

The food is well prepared and well presented. Our server, Sierra, was warm and friendly, anticipating all our needs. Her level of customer service was exceptional! A very pleasant evening ! Truly a neighborhood gem.

Sitting outside was at a perfect temperature but could do without busses and car noise. Food was especially delicious and at reasonable island prices. Service was lovely and care was shown to our family member with celiac disease and need’s gluten free food.

Waitress was excellent. All staff were attentive. Food was excellent. Much better experience then some past lunch time meals. In the past had experience with daytime counter help and bartender that were very off putting. For me, this was a redemption meal. This place is back on my list of eateries that I will frequent. Just maybe not for lunch.

My wife and I frequent this establishment for years now. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food, service and ambience makes the Kalapawai Cafe a favorite go to. I can't say enough good things about this place however, I will try. Seems like every time we arrive here, the people that work here are just so very nice. They smile, chat and are so pleasant to be around. I love their comradery with their team as well as the second to none customer service. Ambience... it is rare to feel like you are on vacation in a city not near any beaches or water. It is nestled at the corner of a very small shopping center. Sunsets and mornings are our favorite. It's just a fun experience, we love sitting outside, this is our preference. The food... everything I have ever tasted here from the breakfasts, lunches and dinner menu has been spot on. Quite a lot to choose from, again, everything we have ever had was simply amazing. Don't forget the fully stocked bar. The Bartenders certainly know how to craft some tasty adult beverages. Kalapawai Cafe & Deli is at the very top of our list when we want to go out on an early morning breakfast or a date night, we always know we will thoroughly enjoy our meal, drinks, ambiance and the smiling faces. A definite "5 stars" from us. LOVE THIS PLACE!

There were 7 of us aged 9 to 55 and everyone loved their food and the service was outstanding! We each ordered a different dish so that really says something! We will def go back on our next visit

We booked a dinner bday party for a party of 9 with a friendly staff member over the phone. The service was awesome, waiters and staff members had friendly good vibes, food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance had a nice local north shore type look to it. There was a nice variety of food on the menus such as Manila clams, steak and pasta that was cooked to perfection and very tasty! If I had 3 thumbs I give the restaurant 3 thumbs up 👍. If you live on the west side definitely try this place out!

I love this chain. I’ve now been to the one near Kailua and Kapolei. It’s unassuming and fantastic. The chefs are excellent. I will always come back when in Oahu.

A hidden gem! We enjoyed the unique menu. There were even options for the vegetarian in our party! The variety was incredible - we ordered oxtail, a beet salad, margarita pizza, and fish n chips. Everything was delicious- our favorite new spot in Oahu!!! Unique, delicious, and non-touristy!! Kid, vegetarian, and family friendly!
