Food was nothing special. My steak was not a particularly good cut. Served on a narrow wood plank…not a good idea. Rice wasn’t fresh, had some hard grains in it. The French onion soup was good. The spinach salad looks like it’s straight from the bag, lots of thick stems. Fish and chips was good, fish was fresh. The restaurant was better pre-pandemic shutdown.

We had the best dinner. Everything we ordered, from the Maui onion soup to the entrees recommended by our waitress, were divine. Our waitress was enthusiastic, attentive, and very knowledgeable of the food offerings. This restaurant is now on the top of my list of “Must Dine At When in Kapolei and Ko’olina!

Food is great and service is amazing. Came here long time ago and the food was mediocre so haven't been back since. The food, flavors, and offerings are so much better now and it's a place that a lot of people overlook. Our sever Alex had a lot of recommendations and described what she liked most. We got their warm spinach salad, auction fish, the special fish of the day, along with the pork tenderloin which was a new addition to their menu. Presentation of all their dishes were nice and tasted amazing. Only gripe was fruit flies, but other than that everything was perfect.

The food at Kalapawai Market Kapolei is superb-my husband loved his steak, Brussel sprouts (so crispy), and mashed potatoes; I had a kale red quinoa salad with a fantastic lemon mustard vinaigrette which was excellent. The chocolate chip cookie and ice cream were wonderful. However, there is always a fly or flies buzzing around inside the restaurant-every time we've eaten there. Probably gets in off the lanai where you can also sit and dine, but it's horrible having flies land on your food (yuk) plus they kept annoying my husband landing on his arm. And for the 1st time our service wasn't great. She was friendly and fast for the most part, but she did spend time talking to a friend at the bar rather than periodically looking around at her tables. I actually had to get up and ask her if we could have dessert. When we left, she was back to her friend. Not a biggie, just a surprise-service is usually no issues.

We checked out Kalapawai Cafe at the recommendation of somebody at our hotel. We were glad we did. Not only was the meal a much better value, but it was delicious. Great quality food and friendly service. The auction fish - I think that’s what they called it - was Ahi with lemongrass risotto. Pizzas were great as well. I don’t recall the cocktail we ordered, but it was really good as well.

We had a reservation for dinner on a Friday night. We were seated immediately and got a table on the patio as requested. Our server was friendly and nice but needs some more training. Food was very good (smoked salmon appetizer, fatoush and kale salad with the catch of the day which was Ahi). We had a nice bottle of Pinot Noir with that.

We had dinner on a Sunday night. We had a reservation which was not necessary. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. We had the bouillabaisse and the daily fish with the fatoush salad. Both dinners were very good. Our server Kelly was very friendly and attentive. We will return later this week for another dinner.

1 Only bump is parking, there is on street parking or parking at theater across the street. Dinner was great, Maui Onion Soup was a surprise almost taste like my own French Onion Soup. Tried a few appetizers the crab dip, tofu, and poke nachos. Main was the special of the day seafood and steak, med rare perfect NY but wife wanted more capers in her sauce. Dessert sweet potato was a nice finish to our date. This is a nice little cafe in the middle of Kapolei. Haven't tried there lunch specials yet. Can't wait for our next visit.

Came for diner. Menu was somewhat limited. Chicken parm was less than average. Watery and bland pasta and chicken was overcooked (or recooked). Other entrees were okay, but underwhelming. First time at this restaurant. Unfortunately, disappointed.

We decided on this trip to rent a car so we could experience some island restaurants off resort. This was by far the best food and service and value of all the restaurants we tried while on the island. I just wish we could eat hear again and again!

For those of you who read my previous reviews, you've already seen what my favorite dishes are. This time, there was a spaghetti special with garlic bread. Usually, I don't like spaghetti noodles, but the waitress did an excellent job of describing the mixture of ingredients and how the sauce was made (not red sauce), so I decided why not, I'll try something different tonight and ordered the special. THANK GOODNESS I DID!!! The noodles were thin spaghetti (which I don't mind), with shrimp, asparagus, mushrooms, breaded ogo, and something else, in a butter garlic type sauce. The blend was perfection! It was like finally having something you never knew you needed. I savored each bite and didn't want to over eat because I had to save room for my favorite dessert (the affogato), but I didn't want to stop eating. However, reason took over, and I stopped. I took home the other half so I could have dessert. The following day, I ate my leftovers for dinner instead and couldn't believe how good it tasted. Whenever this special comes around again, if I'm there, I'm having it! Thanks, Kalapawai, for out doing yourself yet again.

Sitting outside was at a perfect temperature but could do without busses and car noise. Food was especially delicious and at reasonable island prices. Service was lovely and care was shown to our family member with celiac disease and need’s gluten free food.

Waitress was excellent. All staff were attentive. Food was excellent. Much better experience then some past lunch time meals. In the past had experience with daytime counter help and bartender that were very off putting. For me, this was a redemption meal. This place is back on my list of eateries that I will frequent. Just maybe not for lunch.

My wife and I frequent this establishment for years now. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food, service and ambience makes the Kalapawai Cafe a favorite go to. I can't say enough good things about this place however, I will try. Seems like every time we arrive here, the people that work here are just so very nice. They smile, chat and are so pleasant to be around. I love their comradery with their team as well as the second to none customer service. Ambience... it is rare to feel like you are on vacation in a city not near any beaches or water. It is nestled at the corner of a very small shopping center. Sunsets and mornings are our favorite. It's just a fun experience, we love sitting outside, this is our preference. The food... everything I have ever tasted here from the breakfasts, lunches and dinner menu has been spot on. Quite a lot to choose from, again, everything we have ever had was simply amazing. Don't forget the fully stocked bar. The Bartenders certainly know how to craft some tasty adult beverages. Kalapawai Cafe & Deli is at the very top of our list when we want to go out on an early morning breakfast or a date night, we always know we will thoroughly enjoy our meal, drinks, ambiance and the smiling faces. A definite "5 stars" from us. LOVE THIS PLACE!
