We went for the Mother’s Day brunch. For $69.99 per person, our expectations were moderately high. Upon booking, we didn’t realize it was in the banquet hall, or we probably wouldn’t have booked. The initial booking didn’t mention the 25% service charge, so I was a bit surprised when our fee was $50+ for our party of 3. Once we were seated, our server spoke zero English, so getting our drinks was such a challenge (we ordered sweet tea and Pepsi), that we all ended up with water instead, because that was the only beverage she seemed to understand. We tried to order orange juice, but that also couldn’t be understood, so we drank water. The food choices were “fancy”, like you’d expect at a $70 per person brunch, but there weren’t many choices. For breakfast, scrambled eggs, or eggs Benedict, pancakes, waffles, strawberry banana brioche french toast, biscuits, gravy and a few muffin choices was it. No breakfast meats at all. The carving station was decent, but there weren’t many choices for sides. 2 potato choices, polenta, seafood grits, and green beans with chorizo and a mediocre salad bar. There weren’t any rolls or anything like that. There was a mound of peeled shrimp, but the amount of time it was sitting out was off putting and they were mushy. The dessert bar seemed promising, but there were only 2 or 3 really tasty things, the rest were very dry or very unsweetened chocolate tasting. Overall, we won’t be booking another special occasion. The restaurants in the resort are absolutely amazing, so we took a chance that the special occasion would be, but it wasn’t.

The Mother’s Day Brunch was very organized and beautifully set up. We didn’t really know what to expect since this was the first time we had been to an event at the Convention Center at Kalahari. All the food was very well prepared and the variety was great. There was a bit of a language barrier with our server and his efficiency was slightly under par. The bartender was very friendly and offered suggestions for the other restaurants on property for us to visit next time, which as a manager you would hope to have your staff do. Not pushy, just informative.

The Mother's Day buffet at Kalahari was certainly good, and I have no major complaints. The live music was entertaining, though a little loud for conversation at the table. Most of the food was very good, and some was even excellent, such as the braised lamb. There was a large selection to choose from, even for vegetarians and gluten-free diners. The one noticeable lack was there was no omelet bar, though there were several other egg-based breakfast options. I was also a bit disappointed that mimosas were not included with the meal, and had to be purchased separately at the bar. I felt that with the price, mimosas should have been included, as they would have been at other similar buffets. Another thing that would have been nice to include would have been a small value game card to entice diners to go and play. It was certainly an enjoyable experience, but not a particularly great value. Worth doing once, but I prefer the brunch buffets at a few other local establishments that give similar quality and experience at a lower price.

I mentioned to 2 managers and reception. Price jump over last 4 visit went from 50 to 60 and now $70 per adult. We came for the prime rib, which was delicious as usual. Unfortunately the remainder of the food was barely warm. When you get potatoes and add butter to it will at the buffet and it does not melt, that means its not hot. Originally they had pumped in music which was at a level we could enjoy and still converse. They brought in a duo to play, their music was enjoyable but so loud you could not converse with someone still right across from you with out practically shouting. The staff was polite, busy, and professional. I think we will wait another time or 2 before we try the buffet again, hopefully Kalahari will upgrade things a bit by then.

For the cost of the Mother's Day Buffet, the quality of the food was very lacking. 95% of the Eggs Benedict were overcooked and the English muffin was inedible. The carved meats were over-seasoned and the prime rib was gristly. and there was zero effort to minimize cross contamination on the serving utensils. I paid nearly $600 for 6 people and I would expect a much higher quality of food.

This was by far the most fabulous food I've ever had, especially in a buffet setting. The service was wonderful, the set up was flawless with no waiting. I wish they had the buffet option for every holiday, we'd be there!!

We went to the Mothers Day for the buffet. Had a large selection of food, not sure if it was $70/person good, lamb was well over cooked, other stations were so/so. Service was great. Drink prices were way way too high…

The mothers day brunch was awesome. Kids loved the kids brunch table and plenty for the adults. Only thing that was wierd was no bacon or sausage at a breakfast brunch.
