The food is good, but definitely not exceptional. The "japanese white bread" was heavy in a way that 食パン never is, though the two full slices were generous. The egg plates could use a vegetable component, and the potatoes need some sort of sauce, as they were very dry.
The okonomiyaki is passable, but no better than homemade. Solid "meh", all around.
We went for the restaurant week menu and was so pleased with the experience. Each course was excellent, and the sushi is next level. Truly a fantastic meal.
Went during restaurant week. Food was great and enjoyed sitting at the counter watching the chef prepare it.
One of the top three meals of my life. The way the nigiri was paced allowed me to taste each subtle note .
We loved our dinner at Kado No Mise . Unfortunately the service did not compare to the quality and level of food. Our server's timing was off and we had to wait for long periods of time to have his attention.
Wonderful all-around experience. The sushi rivaled top sushi in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The sushi rice was probably the best I have had. The service was excellent. The restaurant is beautiful, modern, and appropriately understated.
great fish but overall food was NOT special and overpriced. Paid the same for Nobu in LA ... guess which is better?
Great food and ambiance. Definitely not the lowest priced sushi in town.
It was great! The food was excellent, the service was spot on! I would recommend this place for a great Japanese food fare experience.
Sushi bar omakase was wxcellent
Some of the best service I have had at any restaurant in the world in the past 5 years. Attention to detail outstanding. The beef is to die for.
Great service and omakase was very enjoyable
10 out of 10 go!!!!!
best Japanese food I've had in the twin cities! the itamae was so kind to us and let us try all sorts of little dishes. can't wait to come back with my Japanese family 😋
A friend referred me to Kado No Mise claiming to have had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, my group's experience was drastically different. The portions were small, the combination of flavors were nothing memorable, and the service was subpar. We tried a variety of things from the menu (e.g. oysters, salad, warm dishes, sashimi, traditional sushi rolls, etc.) and despite the variety--our experience remained below average.
Amazing experience! The food, fish quality, and service was superb. I went there three times in one week while on a work trip.
Sushi counter ordering omakase is the only way to go. After being seduced by masterful foodcraft downstairs, jaunt upstairs to visit Tomo at Gori Gori Peku for finely crafted cocktails.
Wonderful dining experience, the Nigiri and Sashimi never disappoint!
Went there as a group of 4 for a Fathers Day celebration. The father we were celebrating said it was one of the best places he has been. We all agree!
Excellent experience, as always!
Excellent Japanese food.
My recommendation is to sit at the counter where you can have a chat with the chef’s and watch the preparation of all your plates from scratch.
We had a wonderful time in the upstairs dining space. It was an amazing private dining experience, as if we were the only diners in the entire restaurant. Our server did a great job explaining all of the dishes. Each thing we ordered was delicious. Can’t wait to go back again!
my favorite restaurant in the twin cities! beautiful food and hospitality provided by shige, jeff, and all the foh staff. made for the best birthday dinner ever--my family (who had never been there before) were super impressed!
The food was just ok, simply pre-made dishes that were easily prepared and not worth the price. The meat servings were good but everything else was under seasoned or covered in mayo/ketchup. There were several managers/hostesses standing around not helping with the incredibly, slow for no reason service. At one point the cocktail waitress dropped off a drink we didn't order at our table, apologized for the mix up, but said "please keep it". A few minutes later a different waitress came and took it off our table and gave it to the intended recipient without a word. The ambiance is beautiful, and the restaurant is stunning, but other than that...epic fail.
Very good experience with Jacob, had a wonderful omakase!
Weber visited this restaurant three times and always been impressed by the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the service. Recommend sitting at the counter.
Authentic Japanese sushi and meals. None of those odd rolls with avocado. This place is worth every dollar and the best Japanese restaurant around. Absolutely love and the whiskey bar is a huge plus!
Amazing. This food will change the way you think about food. The environment was welcoming and beautiful. I love it here and can’t wait to go back.
Best sushi in Minneapolis! Absolutely amazing staff and great drinks and food.
Great place with authentic food! The mushroom appetizer were probably the best mushrooms I've ever eaten! Awesome restaurant with a great atmosphere.
Was in MN for 2 nights. Kado No Mise was so good, we ate there both nights.
We enjoyed our meal very much, though our appetizer course was slow to arrive. Delicious, healthful food and a lovely space.
Best sushi in town
This place has it all. Amazing sushi, attentive staff, and great drinks. It’s a slow pace if you do the courses but it’s just as easy to hit the bar up for something quick. It’s not cheap if you go all out here but it is worth it
Service and food was amazing! The staff is extremely accommodating and the chefs are first class. We will be back!
Such a great experience. The courses were well explained, beautiful, and delicious. Would recommend highly
The staff knew us from our previous visits and made us feel like old friends. We love the team and the food.
The most authentic Japanese food in Twin Cities. Highly recommended!!!
Very little atmosphere, very formal. Food was good at the time, but both my wife and had stomach aches shortly after for the rest of the night. Food was not worth the cost or discomfort.
Consistently the best sushi in Minneapolis - as good as anything I’ve had outside meals costing 200+
