Pretty much ignored by all staff. Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a high end restaurant. Very disappointing.
Amazing as always!!!
The food is extremely salty and that’s coming from someone who likes salt. I went here 1 time before and it was so incredibly salty but because they have such a high rating I tried it once more- same thing happened. We could barely finish what we got it is that salty. I just don’t understand why they have such a high rating. Any of the restaurants in Little Italy are 100x better than this place. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. This is the most pretentious place I’ve ever been. Also the service sucked. It took extremely long just to get drinks. “Slow and Salty like a slug” is what someone at our table to said about their thoughts on the place, LOL.
The restaurant is trying a little too hard to be “creative”. We spent a fortune and went away hungry. If you are a major foodie and want to be “entertained” or “impressed” then fine but if you want a beautiful satisfying meal go elsewhere.
This is our favorite place to dine when we are in the San Diego area. All of the staff are very attentive and go above and beyond to make sure all goes well. We love the fact that their menu changes every day which makes it adventure to see what their cooks have come up with.
As i arrived (9) having a reservation, the hostes did not want to sit me cause she said it was too late.
food was not tasty at all. we ordered many dishes none of them were good. the only tasty one was the chocolate brûlée.
Went here for my birthday and the service and the food was great! Don’t go by the menu online because it does change seasonally and even daily depending on availability. Everyone is beyond helpful and the staff really knew their stuff!
Fantastic dinner, great ambiance, felt COVID protocols followed nicely!
Such an amazing experience!!! First time in Little Italy visiting my brother. It was a first time for our party. I wish I had room for the dry aged ribeye!
The food and drinks were delicious and service was awesome (thanks Jack!)! We loved it and will be back very soon!
Due to Covid we were sitting outside which was perfectly fine, however the planes landing/taking off right next door every 5 minutes didn’t make the ambiance as good as it could be (it was so loud!). Thanks for a great dinner nonetheless!
Another special event (Easter prixe fixe) knocked outta the park. Tuna crudo, scallops, ricotta ravioli, leg of lamb and chocolate fudge cake, all beautifully presented and prepared.
Great food and service!! They have expanded their dining area to allow for indoor/outdoor options, which was appreciated. Would gladly go back!
This is our go-to spot when we want to pamper ourselves with divine cuisine. San Diego is definitely up and coming on the food scene, and these guys are ahead of the game. Thanks for this special meal, we will be back soon!
The food was so good. I’d highly recommend!!
Service was phenomenal. The timing for my meal was great and definitely added to the experience. I didn’t feel rushed and every interaction with staff was pleasant
This place is highly recommended by everyone . However, maybe my expectations were too high. We first got seated outdoors, which wouldn't have been too bad. But we were brought to a plastic high tops that was super rickety and the chairs were rickety. The wine we ordered I was scared was going to spill all over and crash on the floor the entire time. We ended up ordering the ribeye which I was scared to cut because it literally shook the entire table the entire time. The food was truly unimpressive, and the ribeye was un impressive as well. The only thing I enjoyed that was original and delicious was the yodel. Also we sat right below the airplane landing zone so, we could hear every single plane about to land overhead and I couldn't even hear the waitress half the time. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and underwhelming food.
Excellent across the board. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Fantastic. Thank you guys. See you soon.
Enjoyed everything from service to food, but major miss on the hangar steak my husband and I ordered to share. Flavor was great but it arrived cold. Service took it back to the kitchen to warm and came back a second time cold. By the third time, the steak was hot but there was only three slices left to enjoy. I’m not sure why they didn’t just fire a new steak, so that was a little disappointing. They were very apologetic and brought us two desserts to go on the house, which was nice, and they didn’t charge us for the steak, also good. But we would have happily paid for it to enjoy a full, hot steak. The Jidori chicken was amazing, as was the carrot tagliatelle and the potato small bites.
Speechless.. Best dinner and service I have had in years. Highly, highly recommend!
Fantastic experience all around. Lovely ambiance. Food was phenomenal.
Service was great, location cool, decor was fine; but the food left a lot to be desired. We ate 5 small bites, the past/rabbit, marrow/sparrow egg/ "potato skins", a salad, and the fried cauliflower. Everything but the fried cauliflower missed the mark. The combinations, richness and over-engineering left us feeling bloated and unsatisfied. The "tastes" they were hoping to achieve was a culinary miss. This was the 2nd time I've eaten here and will likely not be back for a long while.
Saul, our server, was incredible! He was kind, generous, and so accommodating to our allergies. The food was amazing and location was perfect for an evening stroll. This place is a MUST. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor space with plenty of seating and space. But what was most amazing was the specialized menu for our party-member with a canola allergy (which is often in cooking oils). They printed a menu, highlighting the items that would be unsafe for her, and provided an additional treat to make her evening even more delightful. The experience was remarkable and we feel so grateful for Saul’s considerate hospitality. Saul, our server, was incredible! He was kind, generous, and so accommodating to our allergies. Not many entrées to choose from (5, I think). Half were reasonable, half were ridiculous. The duck was such a disappointment: strange flavor! lots of skin fat, very little meat and too expensive. The restaurant is noisy; the seating is not comfortable. The open kitchen was a frantic sight to see with smoke pouring into the dining area. The wait staff were great, very cordial and accommodating. It was hard to hear each other over the crash, bang noises from every direction. Parking is a nightmare. Valet parking is the only option. I hope the owner makes some changes, soon! I want to see every restaurant in this difficult time to have success. We wanted to love the place. It is a good scene for those just wanting a drink where your friends are seated within inches. I cannot recommend this restaurant at this time. They have a lot to fix.
Service is FANTASTIC! Food is well made, but portions are extremely small and overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend this spot if you have a large appetite, but would recommend it if you want stellar service and small, perfectly cooked bites.
Great food, great service, great drinks. Outdoor dining set up well for social distancing.
Food was excellent and service was perfect too. Had the hanger steak which was prepared to perfection.
The potato and cheese ravioli tasted like a ball park frank. Underwhelmed with the potato pie and pork belly was overwhelmingly salty with the hollandaise sauce. The service was fantastic very knowledgeable and took their time never feeling rushed. The craft cocktails were to die for. I’ll be going back to give other dishes a try and will hopefully make up for this visit.
Food was good. Prawns were so so. Scallops were excellent. Great beet & burrata salad. Sat outside (due to CoVid) not realizing we were in the flight path of the airport. Service was very slow and sometimes awkward. A staff person (not the mgr.) politely explained that they had just re-opened after CoVid restrictions eased a level and that the new staff hadn’t had much training yet. So, we’ll give them a break on that.
Celebrated our thirteenth anniversary, did not disappoint us at all as usual.
Really nice. Food was excellent. Only thing was our table placement. Everything else was great.
Overall great experience! The only thing that made me give their service 4 stars was the fact that the waiter was rushing us to put in orders, claiming it was their “busiest night” of the year. I found this to be very unprofessional, but the food made up for it. Amazing tuna wrap taco things :)
Great food as always. We love the small plate options that allow us to experience many of their delicious options.
The food was fantastic, we had the Whole Duck. I was yummy, and the staff was very happy to be serving inside again.
Amazing service and awesome food.
Me and my boyfriend had a great time here! The food was incredible and our server was so kind and patient with us. We sat outside which was not ideal but J&I made the best of the current situation. We were able to make a last minute reservation and the hostess was so nice to hold our table when we called to say we were rushing to make it on time. Thanks for a great date night! We will be back soon.
Fabulous food, as always. We had guests in from out of town and all were impressed with the quality and creativity of the menu. A little bit noisy, but worth it. You can’t get food like this anywhere.
We always have a pleasant time when we dine here! Friendly staff excellent food! Nothing disappoints!!
The only thing I would change is I wished we were sitting inside. It was pretty chilly and the heaters were set to far back from the tables. Other then that, food and service was amazing! The scallops were to die for!!
Wonderful food and attentive, friendly service
Great service wonderful food
Always great
