Absolutely love this restaurant every time I go. I am a picky eater but I always trust the unique foods on the menu to be delicious as is. The dynamic is intriguing and my favorite dish is the oh so rare hamburger.
Perfect honeymoon dinner! 12/10
Duck took an hour and fifteen minutes. It was undercooked. Choices were greatly reduced for small plates. Those plates and the duck were the attractions for me. I’ve been there 5 times Will not return.
Food quality and management were awful. Ordered the Black Cod and it came out raw, waited over an hour for a flat iron steak. Management was very rude and aggressive. Will not dine here again.
Poca atención del mesero.
Best spot for sharing with family. Great service. Wonderful place for quality time and quality food
$39 for a shot of tequila that retails at $49 per bottle is crazy. Service was a little slow but food was great.
Great variety of flavors and textures in their meals. We did a variety of the small plates, and dessert.
Food was decent, but the staff seemed primarily interested in how quickly they could turn over the table & move onto the next guests. Was left feeling as though both the hostess / waiter(res) was dismissive & uninterested in creating an experience for the guests. Sadly, it was to such an extent as to over power the food.
Service was phenomenal and the food was somehow even better. Fantastic experience.
Fantastic service. Great food. Creative menu. Definitely will go back.
Couldn't recommend this place any higher. The food was extraordinary and the service was even better. We had four small plates and all them were great. The main entrees were awesome also.
Service and food was outstanding!
The food is original and they use very unique flavor
profiles and spices. The service is great and everyone is well educated on the menu. We reserved the main dining room but were seated at a high top adjacent to the bar. We would have liked to be seated in the dining room outside of that this place is a San Diego culinary gem.
My dinner last night at Juniper & Ivy’s was exceptional in every way. Service was first class, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was as good as I have had anywhere. The Carne Crudo Asada toast was as pretty to look at as it was to eat. Their flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce and chimichurri were a perfect compliment. Can’t recommend a stop here enough!
Incredible, inventive and absolutely delicious menu. There were four of us and we had four starter and four entrees and everything was excellent. Our waitress was enthusiastic about the menu choices and attentive. The space itself is gorgeous. Highly recommend - a real treat.
We thought the handrolls were very fishy and not appetizing. The tostada felt over baked, the agnolotti had crunchy and almost tooth breaking crumble on it that we couldn’t identify. While the black cod was cooked well the overall flavor of the black cod chowder was extremely basic and the chowder soup washed out the flavor of the black cod. I felt I could cook it at home. I enjoyed the wine and they were kind enough to take the handrolls off the ticket. But I would not recommend the food for the price.
Didn’t love the food. Was ok, the service and ambiance was great
The service was great. The issue is that the food has really changed. There was a time when every dish was simply amazing and now we were hit or miss. I would say that we enjoyed 1/3 of the food. I really love this restaurant and if you don’t change back to the original style menu options then you will be out of business in six moths to a year.
You are living on the past reputation at this time. I am not trying to be rude but provide honest feedback in hopes you can make a change for the better.
Good and service were overall good. I’m not sure that I would go back. The price seemed high for what we got. The hostess was rude- turned me away before asking if I had a reservation (we did), but our server was amazing.
The food was very good. Some portions for the small plates were larger than expected (rigatoni w uni) and some smaller (halibut). Same for mains. A couple dishes were a little salty. Pumpkin soup was outstanding. Black Sea bass was very good. Had 3 desserts. Pecan pie was deconstructed which was not apparent on menu. Was good. Flan was excellent. Service was mixed with regards to having full silverware and water. Order was good as was timing of all dishes.
Insanely delicious food, every bite was an experience! Fun sitting at the chef’s counter too!
Good not great. Service was very long and stretched out for a week day evening. Cocktails were well made at a generous amount.
As always, Juniper & Ivy delivered. Excellent food, service and ambiance. A special place to visit.
We had an amazing time and everyone wished us happy anniversary, thank you for the wonderful experience!
Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. All of the staff greeted us with well wishes and we were seated with a complimentary toast. We ordered eight different dishes and everything was cooked to perfection and each was such an interesting and enjoyable combination of flavor and texture. Easily our favorite meal of all time and we will be coming back to try out the other seasonal menus.
Overall I'll give this restaurant 4 stars, complimentary bread should be served all the time, paying $7 for Hawaiian Roll bread that's not going to cut it, would I come here again probably not, me and my wife was still hungry after I paid $150 for my bill, yikes!!, I may just come here for drinks but that's it.
Very good service and amazing food. Different than everywhere. Beautiful restaurant. We loved the open kitchen. Flavourful!
The staff are very polite and friendly! The food was great, it is a bit more pricey so maybe it’s best for a special occasion, date, business meal, etc.. However, all the ingredients are very fresh and the food was great.Dress is a bit more upscale, business casual.
We had an amazing dinner!!! The food was incredible, the ambiance was fun and our server Riley was the best!! One of the best dinners we’ve had in a very long time it was excellent. Well the pumpkin soup was lovely I would not order it again I thought it was just OK but everything else was roll your eyes in the back of your head wonderful!!
I selected Juniper and Ivy for my birthday celebration. Every employee came and offered me birthday wishes. Our server, Case, was excellent as were all the supporting staff. Case consulted with the chef on some of the choices I was looking at. My husband and I shared the homemade Hawaiian rolls and some lamb bolognese. I had chicken with chestnut bread pudding. Husband had pork shank with various lettuces. An apple yodel finished the dinner.
The food is sublime. The service is extraordinary. One of top 10 ever restaurants.
It took me way too long to enjoy a meal here. Everything was spectacular from the food to the service! Looking forward to returning.
Food, atmosphere and service was all great. Pricing was a bit high. $12 for a beer seems excessive
My wife and I ate here for our anniversary. It was a great time! Everyone was nice & wished us a happy anniversary!
Amazing from beginning to end. Our servers were energetic and friendly. Food was amazing! We loved everything. Tuna rolls, Hawaiian bread, halibut and anglioti. Persimmon dish was creative and the seasonal cocktails so yummy.
Desert was on point as well. Such a fun night!
I loved our server he was funny attentive and knew every detail of the menu. The vibe was incredible and the food was some of the best I’ve had in San Diego. Five star experience
Amazing food, amazing service, expensive but worth it
We enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal with delicious food and fabulous service. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and service. They took great care of us.
This place was nothing short of perfect. Food was amazing!! Drinks were crafted to perfection! Our server Ali was knowledgeable, witty, friendly and professional! This was an overall great dining experience and I will be back!
