What a Wonderful time and experience ! Hi he staff was wonderful and the food was excellent with a view !
George was excellent. The food was fantastic. Definitely would return if in the area again.
Good food, good service, and a great place to take in a beautiful sunset or just people watch.
Excellent food. Very clubby atmosphere. Terrible service.
Food was mediocre, wides fish fillet was very thin and overcooked.
We had a very enjoyable lunch.
It was a surprise for us to see the chef come out and share his knowledge on the great salad dressing.
Ate here once for dinner and liked it so much we came back for a brunch. Great service and food; my husband and I agreed that the mussels were the best we'd ever eaten, and both entrees were really good (not quite as good as the mussels though!). For brunch I had some great fluffy pancakes with berries, and he had an omelet that he really liked. Would eat here again if we go back to San Diego.
Food was not perfect but still very good. The service was friendly and attentive. Music was perhaps a bit loud for 2pm on a Sunday or maybe I am just getting too old.
Great scenery- right on the beach! Cool trendy vibe! Amazing service! They were packed and the front still treated us like VIPs! Outdoor seating was not cold for me and I’m always cold..we were there at 730pm . They had heat lamps and I was wearing a thin sweater.
You must get the clams - ask for extra bread! I had short ribs, super tasty and my date had the rib eye w lobster - great portions enough to bring home.
Valet is free w restaurant validation!
Our server was patient and wonderful! Love the view.
So, thet menu looked good, but I was not expecting to be wowed. I don't think Michelin visits SD, but if they did, the star should definitely be given for the scallops. And, omg, that chocolate mousse might solely bring mmr back to SD
Service was good when the waiter was around. However, he seemed to have too many other tables to attend to so it perhaps was not his fault! The food was good, not great. The 8 ounce filet was cooked as requested but the ‘bearnaise’ sauce which fortunately was requested to come on the side was actually mayonnaise. Not good. Nor was the actual piece of beef of ‘prime’ quality. It had too many sinews and way too much fat. Strange, to be honest. Our friends ordered scallops and they apparently were wonderful. The host received a kind of bread pudding cake for his birthday dessert. That was a nice touch. The house wine was surprisingly nice if one likes a jammy Cabernet. I do.
Venue and food and service all good. Two down sides - eating outside in the evening they need to have better lighting on the tables - almost impossible to see what you were eating. They need to read the information given on the Open Table booking.
Great outdoor dining with views of the sunset, pleasant service and great food. The short rib and sliders were amazing, and the drinks are top notch!
Great meal even though we were among the last people seated. We split a tasty calamari appetizer. Entrees were the bass special and a perfectly done rib eye. Portions were large and we enjoyed leftovers for lunch the next day. Will return.
We always have a great time at JRDN. The service is always great and the food is fresh and delicious. One of our favorite spots when we visit San Diego.
yikes.......attitude at the host station......they just stuck us in the overflow bar area......if we hadn’t pushed back we would have been stuck in this uncomfortable and super loud area.....not a romantic high end experience.......i think a business earns it’s reputation every day....there’s an air of arrogance and complacency in this place and that’s a problem.
Food was delicious. Very crowded and noise level was high. Nice waiter but somewhat pushy and seemed in a hurry. Seated outside next to heat lamp which was often too hot. Everyone's food was very good and we enjoyed it.
Great location, good food, the service is a little slow. Had to ask to have dirty dishes removed from the table.
What a treat to get to go to JRDN while i was in San Diego for just a few nites on business. We sat on the patio, with the heat lamps on in February and had a truly memorable experience. Sheer perfection from the valet, to the hostess, to the service to the management team and the kitchen. We started off with one dozen oysters and the ahi nachos, both truly exemplary. We had some amazing wines and move to the main courses including salmon, octopus and lobster pasta. There was nothing left on our plates and not because of small portions. The portion sizes were perfect. Everything was just too good not to finish.
We felt like VIP's with the exemplary service. I cannot wait for my next JRDN visit! Hopefully this summer!!
Disappointed in the changes to the menu seems there are less options as in the past, we have been patrons your opening. I understand wanting to evolve over time but I wasn't as happy with the menu options, other then the steaks.
A lovely view on the patio. Food quality is excellent as was service. Inside is rather noisy so always choose to sit outside.
Fantastic experience! Came for brunch and despite the rainy morning, the restaurant was warm and inviting. Service was on point and the manager presence was strong!! Love the lemon meringue donut and chicken and waffles!!
Great food, excellent service...very very noisy
Food was fabulous the view was great and the service exemplary prices are a little on the high side but not outrageous
Good for a romantic date, girls date, brunch, drinks, basically anything. Except classy/upscale so not your typical PB party zone.. please and thank you :) All seafood/sushi is my fav here and most of all the view at any hour. I love it, I keep coming back
Our server was awesome
Great food. Good service. Cool decor. We would definitely return.
Good food/drinks and great scenery. Indoor and outdoor seating. Valet validated for 2 hours. Looking forward to going back.
Das Essen war in jeder Hinsicht exzellent! Habe sehr selten so gutes Fleisch in den USA gegessen. Werde definitiv wiederkommen wenn ich in San Diego bin.
Dined at JRDN for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful breakfast. Service was great as was the food ordered by our dining party of four. We ordered short rib hash, lox eggs benedict, avocado toast, and vegetable scramble along with mimosas. The view was fabulous sitting right along the boardwalk. Would definitely recommend.
It’s always great we sit outside whenever we can. Romantic for sun sets
Everything was delicious. They were out of their only veggie dish which was disappointing. Thankfully I eat fish and had the salmon which was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. We eat here every time we come to PB. Definitely the best restaurant in PB.
Terrible service by our waitress. She was busy flirting with the two cute guys/customers at the adjacent table.
Grilled octopus, hamachi collar, and black truffle risotto. A cold savagno blanc. Sitting on the outdoor patio, with a breathtaking sunset. Service exceeded expectations as well! A great place to dine with dishes done to perfection! Yum!
Excellent each time we've been! Glad they are not local to me...I'd go too many times and my pocket book would hate me...and prices are very reasonable for the fantastic quality you get!
Pictures from inside the bar while we had cocktails. And on sunset while dining on patio.
Great food and service. Very cool vibe😎
We were very disappointed regarding the Prix-Fix meal that JDRN offered for restaurant week. It only included one sushi roll and two glasses of wine. That was the only choice. So we ordered from the menu which was more expensive than we would have liked. The food was good, but by then we were not in the best of moods. Would not visit them again.
Way too dark to eat outdoors. Needs better lighting.
Took a friend from out of town and he loved it some h he returned the next day. You cannot beat a boardwalk side table! The ambiance is unbeatable and the food did not disappoint. The Mediterranean Sea bass was moist and flaky and absolutely delicious. My friend had the lobster pasta and devoured it! Service was wonderful but waited a bit to be able to order our second drink. That is the only reason service did not get five stars. Will definitely go back again
