We really enjoyed our meal. Everything was wonderful but the nan was particularly great. Good Indian desserts, including home made ice cream!

The service was slow, even though they had few customers. The food was good, but did not come with rice or the other condiments that other Indian restaurants offer.

Had seen some good reviews so thought we would try it. What a shocking experience. First off, do not advertise 10pm reservations if you do not want them. We arrived and there was a closed sign up. We were hurriedly seated and given menus immediately, and within 3 minutes were asked for our order. The menu is very limited but placed order. The vegetable appetizer was tasteless and while we were still working on that the first entree (vegetable sag) arrived which looked like slurry but my wife assured me tasted reasonable. Our roti then arrived which was flat and lifeless. Then after another short wait my Chicken Curry arrived. That was ok, hot but not very spicy. While eating our entrees the check arrived. We paid and were out the door in 29 minutes! The wait staff seemed as if we'd just extended their evening shift unexpectedly.

My husband and I had tried Jotmahal a few days before, and were so impressed that we asked our son and daughter-in-law to come with us the next time. It was all that we had predicted: very good food, moderate prices and very attentive service. We had food that was not overly hot (spicy but not too hot) and interesting. The rice was like a pilaff: every grain was separate and it was not soggy. We consumed 3 big bowls for the four of us. The vegetarian paneer was a mixture of spinach and mustard greens, which everyone enjoyed. The lamb curry was very tender and the chicken masala was rich, but not oily. We had no room for dessert.

This restaurant is still finding its way. We went for lunch; there aren't lunch specials but they add complimentary naan to the order. The food is good but it could reach greater heights if the dishes had more layered flavors and spiced as if they were serving their family. Spicing and preparation for American tastes wastes the chef's talent. It isn't about "hot" so much as teasing out the complex tastes that come from preparing dishes according to traditional methods. It will be worth it to check on their progress a few months from now.
