José brings a fresh, modern take on regional Mexican cuisine to Dallas’ beloved Lovers/Inwood neighborhood. Inspired by the brilliant and fast-paced culinary scene in Jalisco, the restaurant captures the serendipitous connections created when culture, food, tequila and art merge into one experience. Jose’s vibrant story comes to life at every table through its chef-driven plates, craft cocktails, the ceramics crafted by its renowned namesake, José Noe Suro of Ceramica Suro and the hand-drawn mural adorning the walls with scenes of Guadalajara and Tequila, which was a collaboration between Suro and Dallas-based designer and artist Megan Reinhardt. Had a great time with family! Pineapple Margarita was excellent. Just a punch of flavor without being too boozy or sweet. Out of all the dishes we ordered, there were 8 people in our group, the watermelon salad with salmon, the carnitas, and the park cities enchiladas were our favorites. The salmon el pastor receives an honorable mention. Atmosphere was great, though a tad bit on the noisy side but that was to be expected for Saturday brunch/lunch . Our waiter was attentive and super friendly. The one slight negative was it took a few minutes for 2 dishes to come out when the rest of the food came out at the same time. It was a busy. We’ll definitely be back despite the one hiccup. Everything else was wonderful.

Overall, a big disappointment. I’ll spare all the details on why the service was a miss, suffice it to say when you don’t see a server, there’s not really service. She was pleasant enough on the few occasions she came around. The food was fine but not remarkable. Salsa is served in 1oz portions (think ketchup containers) which is honestly laughable. Atmosphere was lovely with 3 distinct areas to choose from downstairs and what looks like could be a fun rooftop patio. All in all, we were truly disappointed because we were hoping for a new fun find.

We visited on cinco de Mayo and it was their anniversary as well so they had a live band so it was hard to converse but the ambiance was incredible. The food was impeccable per usual. Jose never misses.

We love the food. The noise and music level were beyond awful = 1980 discotec. The service was great. The plastic cups sucked. It would have been perfect if the noise level with the crappy disco music was not blaring. Maybe try Mexican music next time = Cinco de Mayo.

First time and everything was great. Drinks and food were amazing, definitely finish with the pistachio tres leches and a carajillo. The bar team was awesome!!

I really love restaurants that have a nice patio dining experience, and I like to be able to sit in a corner and read. This was perfect, it wasn’t too loud, and it was nice and open and breezy. The drink menu was mind blowing, I tried two drinks I’ve never had before, and they were amazing. And the food was perfect. And the service was excellent, which is surprising because they were getting pretty busy around 5 PM. My server was Cesare (sp?) and I really liked him. I’m bringing my best friend next week.

My girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday here a couple days ago and it was incredible. The food was great, the interior had a really cool vibe and our server Marco was tremendously helpful and friendly. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Food was excellent and the bartenders were all amazing! Especially Chuck, he went through the history and uniqueness of the place and was an overall incredible bartender, server, host. All in one.
