We had a lovely family meal for Father’s Day. It was busy and there was a long wait for our food however when it came, it was absolutely delicious. The giant Yorkshire puddings were yummy but we couldn’t finish and the bread sauce and tender chicken was delicious.

Their Sunday roast was exceptional, so great that we came back for brunch but was sorely disappointed. The wait was incredibly long despite there only being 3 groups in the whole place. Our order of drinks were taken but only half came, I had to go to the bar to help myself to tap water for the table. When the food came it was cold and hard and incomplete but because we'd waited so long we were so hungry and reluctant to ask in fear of another long wait. When asked how the food was we weren't even given anything to compensate, no discount even after we complained about it. We just wanted to pay the bill and go. What a stark contrast from the Sunday roast which was delicious! We know now for future.

I've been to Jones and Sons before in Dalston, and it was really good, so when I noticed one had opened locally in South Woodford, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, overall, it was bang average! The venue is stunning, but it was nowhere near full (on a Friday night), and we were seated next to a large table who were pretty loud. Several fruit flies pestered us, but we got on with it. The starter (prawn croquette) was nice, but a bit overcooked, so it had a slightly burnt taste to it. The Brixham Bream was cooked well and tasted good, but the 300g rib-eye wasn't cooked properly. I asked for medium, but it was very underdone and rather tough. As it was very charred on the outside, and I didn't want it to be charred any further, I cut around it rather than send it back. The cocktails were made well, but overall, for a £150 meal out for 2 people, we were left disappointed. I would recommend the Dalston venue, but I won't be going back to South Woodford

Really pleasant experience; welcoming, friendly service, and nice food. But at £45 a head for a roast dinner and a few drinks, it does feel pricey. But worthwhile overall.

Meat - Very good Veg - Very good Veggie option - Very good Flavour - Very good Service - Very good Value - Very good If I had to look for an improvement……everything could have been hotter. 2nd visit here and I will be back.

Only people in there, was totally dead for a Saturday at 1pm. Food was very average. High price point for such average food. Service was good. Wouldn’t bother going here.

Loved everything. We shared one of each starter as small plates and every bite was delicious. Great cocktail menu and a good happy hour during the week. We will be back soon!

No idea why this place isn’t better known in the area. Great quality food, nice setting with a terrace in the sun with great cocktails.
