The ambience was the best part. The music was good when they were on stage but they took over a 30 minute break. We only ordered 1 appetizer that was just ok. They were shortstaffed, only 2 servers for the place but very friendly and as attentive as could be in that situation.

We had been looking forward to visiting Johnnie's. When we arrived we were surprised to see the club was collocated with the lobby of a movie theatre. The smell of fresh popcorn was nice but it affects the ambience of the club. The hostess told us they were "short-staffed" and that the menu would be food from the theatre's kitchen. We chose to have an appetizer and go elsewhere for dinner. The band playing was good, the service was fine, but it's obvious the "short-staffed" kitchen is a regular occurrence if not the case full time. Probably a good place to go later in the evening for a cocktail and listen to music.

This is a great place we’re I meet up with friends for great music, drinks and good food.. The music line up has been amazing great entertainers. The general manager is amazing he makes you feel welcome… ladies he also sings… I love the atmosphere here at Johnnie’s.

Very disappointing. The acoustics were probably the worst of any music venue I've been to. The group was wedding band quality - fair at best. With the bad acoustics, it sounded like someone kicking garbage cans in an alley. And LOUD! Our server was inexperienced. Kept forgetting things, didn't place the order correctly and we needed one of the dishes re-done. The food was OK - nothing special. Sharing the space with the movie theater lobby created an overwhelming smell of popcorn. We got out of there as fast as we could.

Menu was quite underwhelming. Restaurant was mostly empty on a Saturday night which seemed really weird. Restaurant was under staffed. We went there for dinner but ultimately decided to just have one drink and then walk up the road to another restaurant.

Normally the food and service is great! Last night it was just okay. Our waiter, although nice was slow. Incredibly slow. He also brought someone else’s food to our table. Would I go back? Yes, maybe to make sure it was just that night. I enjoy the ambiance there usually.

Music was incedible and I always love the relaxed low key vibe. Food was just okay, but when I sent back the tenders for being burnt, they were very accommodating. Staff is always super friendly

This is in regards to the The Boozy Broomstick Pop-Up Bar. It was underwhelming to say the least. It was billed as 'magical space where you'll stumble upon specialty drinks, photo ops and more!' It was none of those things - just some tables up in an upper room. The band was loud so everyone sat around looking at their phones. Perhaps you can partner with the KC Potterheads to create a better experience. I've already let Planetcomicon know that it was dud and wasn't worth the cover charge.

Waste of time waste of money overall terrible service as our waitress spent her entire time hanging out with her friends and videoing them while we waited for our drinks (45 minutes just to get the wrong drinks) when asked about the drinks she lied and said they are almost up as she went to go out them in incorrectly. Came for the Harry Potter pop up bar that promised themes trivia and fun drinks. Trivia was just a piece of paper instead of someone asking questions ordered the same drink three times all three were different. Overall waste of time and money.

This event was a bait and switch. The ambiance was incredible, but the overall experience was boring. It should’ve been made clear that the trivia was self-led, and the questions were insanely difficult. Asking people about what so and so tweeted or said on Pottermore instead of asking for content from the books and movies was disappointing. The cocktails were tasty, if a bit overpriced.

The pop up bar was not what I was expecting. It was way overpriced for the lack of decor and thought into the theme. Drinks were very ok. The popcorn was just sitting in boxes and not much seating.

Harry Potter Bar Only Review: The tables were dirty. The Harry Potter theme was terribly executed. Drinks were too expensive for what they were. The only thing that was good was seeing an old friend.

We enjoyed the pop-up bar and the photo opportunities were good. The overall immersion could be improved upon. The plastic cups were just the branded movie theatre cups and the decor was lacking. Also the music was pretty loud. I’d say it was nice but not GREAT.

We went to the Harry Potter Popup bar. The decorations were very underwhelming and the drinks weren’t as “magical” as they pictured. Some said they would have glitter and did not. Although, they were still good. We went on a night that there was live music playing. It was so loud we could barely hear each other talk and could not hear the Harry Potter Music, kind of killed our vibe.

Boozy Broomsticks is just a room above the jazz bar with no decorations to match the theme. We all tried all of the cocktails offered and only 1 we all liked. If you wanted food you had to go downstairs and bring it up. Dont waste your money.

Super cute and fun place for drinks and live music. Perfect location in the heart of Power and Light District. It wasn't crowded on a Friday night. Lots of seating options as close or far away from the stage as you choose.

My sorority sisters and I from the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc celebrated our 110th Founders Day at Johnnies, Power, and Light, and we had an amazing time! The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was phenomenal. Our Soror Delynia Jannell and her band were electrifying! Our guests and we had so much fun last night. I made a reservation for 5. When we arrived, the hostess had a hightop table for 4. The table was too small for 5 dinners. We asked to be seated at a table for 5, but we were told they were all reserved. We ended up having dinner at the bar, which gave us more space, but not great for conversation. I'd go back for the live jazz (the band was very good), but probably not for dinner.

Great ambiance. Wonderful live music spot. Piaget was the singer during our visit and she was amazing!!! She made it warm and welcoming and even came to each table to say hello to everyone in the audience. I had the western burger and forgot to tell them medium instead of well done. My fault. The wife had the blackened salmon and she said it was ok. The greatest part about this place is the ambience, it’s not overcrowded but Austin not empty, just perfect setting.

We arrived early and were seated right away. They seemed a bit short-handed and the service was a bit slow. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't bother us much. It did take a while to get our initial drink order. The food came out hot and was better than expected for essentially "bar food." We enjoyed the meals and the entertainment. We had reserved a table near the stage and were pleased. If you want to have ongoing conversations, I suggest seats further from the stage. We enjoy being up close. We will definitely go back.
