They advertised “join us for dinner and stay for the fireworks”. Well, there was no view of the 4th of July fireworks from this location. As an out of towner, I feel like this was false advertising. My daughter says we were catfished. Being able to view the fireworks was the main reason we booked this place.

I have been to this restaurant many times. Granted, this was Fourth of July weekend in Boston, a busy weekend! However, the upstairs where we sat was a mess. There’s none of the ambience of downstairs. We each ordered a lobster roll. I had the traditional lobster roll with mayonnaise, and my niece had the hot lobster roll with butter. She did not like hers and mine was probably the worst lobster roll I’ve had in the 30 years I’ve lived here. It came out very quickly, so I feel like it was sitting there prepared ahead of time. The bartender and wait staff were very accommodating and kind. However, overall, this was not a good experience.

We recently had lunch at Joe’s Waterfront and overall enjoyed the food and setting. Everything we ordered—from the lobster roll to the salads and fresh fish—was delicious and well-prepared. The restaurant itself is beautiful and offers a great view, but it was very crowded during our visit. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress was slow and inattentive, which really impacted the experience. Had the service been even halfway decent, this could have easily been a five-star meal. Still, the food and location are worth a visit—just be prepared for possible delays if it’s a busy time.

We had a wonderful time at Joe’s Waterfront- thank you! Our server was fantastic & the food was delicious- and the location was perfect for the Harborfest fireworks! Wow!

Service was slow. Server forgot the appetizer and it ended up coming out after entree. Drinks took more than 15 mins to get.

The salmon was excellent and they even celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a free warm cookie and ice cream! Our server was great!

Been to this location for a decade+. It's been in a minor backslide but the location and bar continue to be great and their space is hard to beat. Entrees are overpriced for portion pair with taste. Either portions need to increase or taste needs to increase to justify price. Apps make more sense. They continue to have an optics issue with their plating leading to an imbalance in perception of value. Small quantities on a large plate are supposed to suggest high-quality but they aren't reaching that level so if not increasing food quantity, decrease plate size. My plate last night looked comically empty when it was placed down and they aren't a Michelin star restaurant.

We loved Joe's American Bar and grill we dined at there other locations through the years, however this was my birthday 🎂 and so what a disappointment (the food was good I had the lobster roll however I didn't appreciate they put lettuce in it) and my wife loved their chicken salad and my daughter loved their Mac n Cheese dish but, what stays in our mind was the waitress she didn't seem cheerful on numbers of occasions she served us at our table when we asked her why so down she said "I worked last night" so just one customers opinion.
