Food was horrible. Greasy and over battered fish. Horrible crab…if you even get any out of the legs you get. Soggy fries. Warm coleslaw. Ran out of wine glasses and server said she didn’t know we wanted to use something else. Not many people there so not sure why no wine glasses. Terrible service. Will never go back. Used to be a fun place. Not any more

Friendly attentive staff. Festive atmosphere with nicely themed decor. Scenic harbor views from inside the restaurant. Parking lot is self-service, but with a fee and an attendant.

Service was good, but then again we were practically the only one's there on a Wednesday night at 7 PM. We both ordered the shrimp and seafood ensemble which was ok, but not a 4 🌟 entree in our opinion.

Joe's has always been a favorite. On this particular day everything was just average. It felt like no care was put into the quality of the food, it was second rate at best. The servers were nice but I could tell they were tired and overwhelmed. I blame it on the pandemic. I had to hunt down someone to take our orders once we were seated after 20 minutes of waiting...only a party of three at 4:30 on a Sunday. I have learned to accept less than great service/nowadays. I miss the days when good customer service was the norm...not the exception.

It was my birthday and we decided to come to our favorite place, Joe’s Crab Shack! Our server, TIFFANY, was AMAZING!!! LOVE HER ENERGY!! She made our evening so special, had us laughing and went above and beyond to make sure our evening was special!!! The food, excellent!! Reasonable priced!! Highly recommend!!

Staff was friendly and delivered our meals timely and made my sons 18th birthday party a blast!!

Excellent food. The fish and chips are great. Everything was served fast and fresh. Great service and we were patient as we knew they may have been short staffed. Great views. Thanks!

We have been Joe’s Crab Shack customers for years, specially this Redondo Beach location. I am saddened to say that this last visit disappointed the entire family. I will begin with the service provided by the server. He was rude and un-attentive. We always experience amazing customer service from the staff, but this time it was beyond disappointing. We sat for about 20 minutes before he came to take our drink order. The restaurant was not busy and his section only had 1 other party of 4. The restaurant was out of 3 of the 5 entree’s we always get. We settled for other items on the menu. The food took much longer than usual to arrive and even the rude waiter told us he couldn’t believe the food wasn’t out yet. The soup I ordered as an appetizer never made it to the table. When I asked the waiter about the soup he said, “oh, you still want it?”. Since they were out of my son’s original request, he settled for a cheeseburger which had hard, over heated bread buns. Food wasn’t the usual and service was terrible.

Had high expectations for Joe’s Crab Shack, and it didn’t deliver. We had never been before, and though we we mentioned that, and weren’t expecting hand holding, nothing was explained to us. We didn’t know how much food was good for 2 people, what a pot was, how was it different than the legs, how to get the meat out of the legs, etc. We figured it out, but for first timers, it would have been nice to know how to use the crackers, etc. The view of the marina was beautiful, and the food was tasty but not exceptional.

The service was poor. Waitress was scratching her unkept hair and handling food. When entree arrived it was cold. Sat for 20 min before waitress came over. I could go on.

Food was horrible it had terrible taste of old grease I had the shrimp sampler it was so bland there was only one server for the whole restaurant she was great overall me and my husband had bad stomach aches wouldn’t recommend anyone going here it was a bad experience I wouldn’t go back ever again .

‘Drawn butter’= warm margarine (yuk, tasteless)
Caesar salad was only cut up lettuce sprinkled with some parmesan and dressing on side. Hardly a ‘Caesar salad’.
Food took a very long time to come even tho restaurant nearly empty, then arrived cold

Our server was fantastic!!! Her name was Ray or Rae not sure how she spelled it. Wonderful experience and food!!

I made a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes, they had one server for the entire restaurant. We ordered the fish shrimp plate and it was absolutely terrible, I’ve had better frozen fish n shrimp. We were served w h no utensils, napkins, or ketchup. To spend $80+ on a terrible meal that didn’t stay in our bodies more than an hour is crap, I will never return to this place.

Very slow service, greasy food, no ambiance.

Service was not timely and for the amount of people in the restaurant. At the time of my visit there was about 10 people dining.

Battered fish was soggy and tasted off. Crab seafood mix was also soggy and same bad taste. Prices way too high for quality of food. Cole slaw was good. Ambiance awkward sitting next to an e tire section of tables with chairs turned over on the tables. Looked closed but it wasn’t. It should be!

We had a reservation for my birthday. Table was far from the window and under the A/C vent. We weren't offered a free birthday dessert. Most of the stuff we wanted to eat was not available. After asking the type of mushrooms were with the crab stuffed mushroom and said okay we'll have that, the waitress said, "Oh we're out of mushrroms." Then when I asked what type of vegetables came with the stuffed flouder, she said brocolli. Great, I'll have that. Then she said, "Oh, but our oven broken so we aren't serving that tonight." Shouldn't she have just told us they were out of mushrooms and that we couldn't get the stuff flounder before telling me the other things? Don't get me wrong, she was really nice, but not the best at communicating the menu choices. The food was just okay. Nothing to write home about.

I just really needed some shrimp and crab legs and I know Joe’s is reliable at filling that need.

How to keep asking the waiter for condiments reminder for food or drinks. Other waiters or friendly

Very accommodating for our handicapped needs. Food was good. Service was outstanding, especially since they only had 3 servers for a large facility. We were not able to get outdoor seating although we requested it on the reservation because of limited seating and staff. We would definitely come back when we are in the area. Beautiful setting and views of the marina. Food was fresh and hot as ordered.

Ordered lobster as an add on and did not receive it. When waitress finally came back, kitchen was closed and couldn’t get it. This was at 8:50 pm.

First time eating at Joe's Crab Shack. Darenise greeted us at our table and was very friendly and helpful with our menu questions.

Short staffed but ready to serve. Food was very good, 2 apps and 3 entrees, large portions for sharing.

Not the same value or quality. Disappointing

Though advertised as casual dining, a little too casual. We did enjoy our window seat, looking out over the harbor. Our dinner was very tasty, the clam chowder and lobster bisque excellent. Food delivery was slower than it should have been. Probably more a kitchen issue rather than wait staff. Tiffany was lovely. Menu was also different than what was advertised on the Open Table.

Tiffany made my brother's birthday memorable and the food was good.

The wait was ridiculously long. Despite having a reservation and ordering it takes over an hour to get your food on top of the servers not being attentive after they take your order you are left forgotten. We almost left, our drinks were given to another table who got seated after us as well as getting their food before us.

The food was very tasty but the server got my plate wrong and went back to get me my plate,while my party was already eating. You should do more value SPECIALS. Nice to be able to treat your FAMILY out to something special. You should do BIRTHDAY specials for the BIRTHDAY guest.

Screams of desperation and gives to concern about the quality of the ingredients served. Seafood needs to be fresh.

Lack of “toys” for the kids shark drink but charging the same price.

Joe's Crab Shack is a shell of its former self, no pun intended. Food was just OK, service was almost non existent, and that party like atmosphere with good music and happy employees is completely gone. When the hostess has to go clean tables to accommodate waiting customers, while other support staff chats amongst themselves off to the side, management of this place has certainly failed. Add to that a $4 fee for self parking, and 3% "dine-in" surcharge on every bill (a one liner explanation is on the menu at the very bottom) , you'll be paying more to get a lesser experience.
