My wife stayed at the Lodge 70 years ago with her family. Little has changed except the price. What was an authentic western resort has become the darling of upscale urbanites who think nothing of throwing money at these increasingly rare western experiences. The restaurant provides very good service but the food, other than the red pepper soup, was ordinary. Our steak was tough and not very flavorful. Definitely overpriced, even by very overpriced Jackson Hole standards.

Stayed at the property and had breakfast and dinner twice. We had dinner there in 2019 that was outstanding. The service once you arrive is awesome. The managers are friendly and visible. The servers take their time and time out the courses really well. The feel of the dining room is very old fashioned and there isn’t a wide variety of age groups. There is really no longer a dress code. Those things weren’t that important to us because you’d be comfortable in a tie or tshirt there (we dressed up). The food isn’t in line with the price of the meal overall. We eat out at high end restaurants and I agree with other reviewers that you can do better $ and taste wise in Jackson. But, you don’t have the view and the same nostalgia. We really appreciated the opportunity to bring our own wine and they were very accommodating in that regard. Dinner had smaller portions which were fine as it’s 5 courses, but it feels like they had limited flavor (need salt and moisture) and offered very small protein portions for the price. Lots of pre-plated (cold) items and braised meat vs full cut preparations. Maybe eliminate the soup course and work with less entree options to help increase the value. Desserts were middle of the road and we were often full by then. The breakfasts were good overall. Standard offerings and lots of choices. They will also make what you really want/need, that’s nice! We hope the menu and price will have some evolution before we try again down the road.

So accommodating… half our group hiked over while the rest drove. The hike estimation took longer which pushed our reservations back. Everyone very understanding along with making sure the toddler’s food was served quick. Kudos for a wonderful experience- Come visit Music City

This was our third evening at the Lodge. Our experience was about the same. The menu is interesting and fairly well executed..but we both think that less would be more - fewer options better executed. Each night the signature salads were plated well in advance …so they were wilted and lifeless when served. (Same with the breakfast avocado toast- cold),. The veggies served with the steak were the highlife of dinner- delicious true flavor. Maybe it was the butter! The chicken Marsala was very forgettable. Ice cream was great and the pavlova was chewy - it should be airy and crisp. I think this dining room should evolve to a simpler fare and not try to stretch to something it cannot achieve with excellence. And simple good food is all we need in a place like this…not give aspirational courses that don’t quite make it to the marketing hype. Less is more.

The last place in Grand Teton National Park that is STILL FANTASTIC! They maintain the great service, fine cuisine, and ambiance that has always made Jenny Lake Lodge world class. Nothing else in Grand Teton or Yellowstone Parks is even close. Enjoy.

We are here at lodge for three nights. Dinner yesterday was pretty much the same experience as night before . Menu is varied with very interesting offerings. We had the bison short rib - which was under seasoned again . Nice and tender but bland like an average pot roast. The surprise was the chicken saffron soup. Really pretty presentation and unexpected smooth flavor. Had a mushroom character which may have come from the natural earthiness of the saffron. Ice cream was delicious. Bread pudding was ok , unique biscuit like presentation with crème anglaise and bananas foster. A bit dry on its own- needed the crème for sure. We ordered decaf coffee with dessert. We think it was caffeinated because we both were wide eyed and sleepless well into the early morning - after a full day of hiking biking and swimming. Service and ambience very nice. Dress code is confusing. Some gentlemen in jackets and others in shorts and sandals. I packed an extra suitcase (small) at the last minute when I read the dress code just before we left home. We are hiking etc do we had no nice clothes packed. We were ready to leave for airport when I checked dress code on a hunch and then scurried to throw in collared shirt and nice shoes for husband and resort casual for me. It seems that many guests did not do this. I certainly did not expect to dress for dinner given the location of the lodge. Still…it felt kinda nice to clean up after a day on the trail.! The dress code should be clearly communicated when making lodge reservations so guests can pack accordingly.

Five course meal- interesting menu offerings. The squash blossom exceeded expectations- nicely executed. Roasted veggie salad nicely presented but a bit dull on flavor- needed a peppy dressing to brighten the flavor. Scallops were nicely done. The pasta dish made with bison, elk and venison was disappointing- it was under seasoned and reminiscent of bland pot roast. The house made huckleberry ice cream was distinctly blueberry in flavor. Espresso ice cream was delicious. Found a hair in my tiramisu 🤨 and although the tiramisu was fresh and house made it was missing typical moisture from espresso and whipped cream- it was on dry side - did not melt in my mouth. The ambiance is very western, like every lodge in the Tetons. Waiters were great.

This highly “touted” experience is extremely over rated and extremely over priced! Wife entre was 3 oz of salmon; my meal was 3 oz of chicken. Unique and artistic servings—-but not worth the most expensive meal ever @ $316, including tip. It was a single menu, multi-course meal——-but we were astonished at price! We are extensive travelers and have dined at very fine restaurants in Hong Kong, Rome, Quebec’s City, and Lake Louise——so our experience is vast. Jenny Lake lodge is just not at the premium and we highly recommend you skip this Jenny Lake Lodge dining experience!

The dining room is charming, our server Charles was attentive and friendly. Pretty table by the window as we enjoyed our anniversary lunch. The food was a bit disappointing, quite a limited menu. And rather flavorless, bland chili and a side not included with burgers? The setting is really lovely though.

We had an amazing dinner at Jenny Lake Lodge. They rotate a five day fixed price menu and on our visit we had the following especially memorable dishes - beet root hummus (sounds weird but it was delicious) and the braised bison short ribs. Huckleberry ice cream was wonderful as well but the bananas foster bread pudding was a bit cold. The view out the windows was amazing and the service was attentive but not intrusive. The last time we dined here was 35 years ago but we will not wait another 35 years to dine again here!

Jenny Lake Lodge is a special place. The five-course dinners are great and part of your stay when you lodge there. It’s so fun to see what options await you on the menu each night. The portions are just right because with five courses, you don’t need huge portions. The staff is exceptional and makes the experience very enjoyable. A great meal and overall atmosphere nestled in the middle of the great outdoors.

We heard dinner at Jenny Lake was not to be missed. Sadly, this was the worst fine dining we have ever experienced. Smelly scallops, plain plates of greens called “signature salad” served with 1/2 a grape tomato, and small, inconsistent portion sizes (3 of us ordered the same selections) that were not offset by flavor and plating artistry. Even the dessert of warm chocolate chip cookies didn’t save the meal because the dough tasted store-bought. The elk entree was very good. Our waiter was nice but service was mediocre. Maybe he was new? The price was reasonable for a good 5-course meal, but because the experience was poor, the price felt very high. We love a great meal, and we are not super picky. We so wanted this meal to be a highlight of our trip. I hope the Jenny Lake Lodge we’ve heard about is suffering from post-COVID impacts and will return with time. Regardless, we will never go back. $115 per person was too much for such a poor dining experience. We had fabulous meals and impeccable service at restaurants in nearby Jackson, WY.
