Friendly and accommodating staff, excellent and attentive service. Atmosphere dampened a bit by Covid distancing precautions but altogether a great experience!
Food quality was mixed, Wedge salad was drenched with dressing to the point of approaching soup. Steak was good.
Service very poor. Hostess seemed overwhelmed, first said she could seat us 10 - 15 minutes early as requested (our reservation was the last time slot available), then she said to get a drink and wait, then she told to leave and come back. We were fine with any option, but it was a little difficult to sort out what she wanted us to do after getting three sets of instructions.
We were seated and ordered. Salad arrived, but we had no silverware until we could flag down our waiter to point this out. He forgot our drinks, he forgot a side dish my son had ordered as an appetizer (ultimately arrived after main course), and he almost forgot our wine, as it was brought much too far into our meal.
Great waitress and ambience was wonderful. We were celebrating our 25th Anniversary there. The other couple we were with were also celebrating their 25 th. We all enjoyed our food and thought it was excellent. The only thing is my fillet was a little dry and one of our friends got the wrong steak. It was fine though and we loved our dessert they sent us on the house. Great great service.
It had been a while since I had been there to eat and I will say it was one of the better meals I have had in a long time. The food was excellent and I will be returning very soon.
Mixologist skills needed
2 days in a row my breakfast order was wrong or clearly sitting under a heat lamp for a very long time (pancakes). The dinner we had was very good, but not sure the breakfast is worth it.
Wife got the Crab Cakes, said they were the “Best” she ever had.
We went here because the main dining room at the Omni was closed. Atmosphere is very nice. Service is friendly and attentive. Food was good not the best we've had but pretty good. We'd eat there again. They had a decent wine selection and they didn't try to kill you on prices.
Awesome time for our birthday (my husband and I share the same birthday)! The staff was nice and the food was perfect!
Great service! They even brought out a fabulous dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
Second time to Jefferson's Restaurant, and it was as good as the first. We had a bone in NY strip and a filet along with wedge salad and 2 sides. Everything was top notch. It's priced as you might expect for a high-end resort, but well worth the cost as dinner was superb. Can't wait to come back again.
Excellent food but on the expensive side, especially for dinner. Kids meals excellent too - healthy options and large portions.
We enjoyed excellent service and really great food. The crab cake was the best ever. Thank you to all who made our dining experience memorable!
Jefferson’s is a nice restaurant with good food! When I was there earlier this year I had excellent service. This time our server was not professional or knowledgeable. He obviously had not been well trained. It really put a damper on a what was supposed to be a fun dinner with friends. I expect more from a restaurant at The Homestead.
Anniversary special dinner
Every single staff member and server were just over the moon with top notch everything
Food was good and service was very good except for one mix-up with a check which took over 10 minutes to fix.
For starters the service was outstanding, and the menu provided a sufficient number of good choices. I planned to share the honey glazed fried chicken with my spouse, the our server divided it for us! The vegetables were served family style, and we had an excellent meal.
Disclaimer: we understand how difficult it is in Covid time to be open, as we are in the industry. And we arrived with no expectation other than we wanted to have dinner on premise.
The soup was served piping hot in a cast iron bowl. I burned my mouth with the first sip. You either serve it warm in a cast iron vessel that keeps heat or in a ceramic or porcelain bowl if you want the soup sent out piping hot.
Both steaks, one filet and the other bones in ribeye, were sent back after two bites. The filet Mignon was slathered in a heavy garlic butter. We couldn’t get past it. The beautiful bones-in ribeye was over salted, even so for someone who uses MSG. The chef was kind to offer a replacement. We asked for a ribeye with just a pinch of salt as seasoning and it was perfect.
The wine list was entirely too safe. If one third of the menu is expensive steaks and people clearly dress up for dinner, perhaps pull the wines from the still-closed Dining Room? We would be glad to pay for a good bottle or two. But the wine list is safer than the two restaurants across the street from the public pool in the village.
Just okay! Which is not good enough for the prices you pay.
We were staying at the Homestead and ate 3 meals a day at Jefferson’s. Because of Covid, this was the only open sit-down restaurant at the Homestead. All of our meals there were very good, and the service was good. In fact, I thought the meals were better than the meals I’ve eaten at the main dining room, which is currently closed.
Staff were absolutely fantastic - especially Holly! Great food, comforting and warming. Bar staff also very helpful and kind, will mix up anything you desire!
Absolutely fantastic. Special kudos to hostess Victoria for remembering us from prior trips and to server Carmen that remembered we always come for our anniversary!
We would come back. Service and ambiance was excellent:)
We were able to sit outside on the patio of Jefferson's which was great. Menu and food were wonderful. Great wine choices and Neville was an awesome waiter. Beautiful evening.
Special thanks to Colleen, Victoria and Carmen for their excellent service during our multiple visits to Jefferson's during our anniversary trip.
Highly recommend and hope see you all soon .
Great and respectful service!!! Waitresses were superb and very knowledgeable of food. Very careful about food allergies. Delicious selection of food and beverage.
We applause them with all restrictions and CDC guidelines great approach.
Highly recommend to do reservation!!!
Hope to see you all soon :)
Although I was disapointed that the main dinning room at the Homestead was closed, the our dinner at the Jefferson was a wonderful experience. The staff took the time to recognize the fact it was our anniversary. The service was impeccable and the food exceeded our expectations. I had the bone-in ribeye - most restaurants tend to under cook this cut of meat - I was very happy that the chef at the Jefferson prepared mine to perfection. Although the atmosphere at the Jefferson is different than the main dinning room - it still is a lovely setting for a special occasion.
There are not many choices at The Homestead and the menu is currently very limited but our meals here were delicious. The crabcake appetizer was delicious! We went back just for this dish. The drinks were very good and the service was excellent. The portions are very generous as well.
I waited for several weeks to right this review. I know that during the current times nothing is normal. But, that does not mean that servers cannot provide adequate service. We ate in this restaurant 4 times. Our experience each time was pretty much the same. We felt as though we were an inconvenience. The person at the host stand did not great us with even a simple hello. Our waiter did not seem to know anything about the food or wine menu. In the middle of taking our order another couple was seated several seats away and our waiter just stopped taking our order and walked over to the other couple. We were polite, generous tippers and not demanding so I'm not sure why our experience at this restaurant was so unimpressive. One evening we just wanted to get drinks in the bar before dinner but were told we couldn't sit in the bar unless we ordered food so we ordered an appetizer?
We love visiting the Homestead and food at Jefferson’s was great.
This was our first venture eating in a restaurant since March (we did this on 8/30). We didn’t know how it would go, but overall it was lovely. The service felt a little rushed, but it’s for the best not to linger indoors. The food was high quality, beautifully presented, and delicious. They didn’t push things we didn’t want and I think it was a good experience.
The food was top notch. Service was pretty good- could be a little better. We will definitely return!
Our family of four dined three nights, three breakfasts and a two lunches at the Jefferson. Every meal was freshly prepared with extraordinary taste and quality. Chef Roderick (and Ryan) came to our table to personally design a vegan meal for one guest at our table for each meal. She was beyond pleased with the effort! Honestly, the many orders of filet of beef, the New York Strip, the Allegheny Trout, the seared Salmon on a bed of puréed English peas and the vegan dishes were all extraordinary. The sides of mashed potatoes, spinach and Mac and cheese were happily fought over. And this coming from world travelers and DC restaurant locals! Wine list was considered and good values were found and enjoyed each night. The service was impeccable, even on the busier days and nights. All of the wait staff have been there for 10-24 years and happy to serve us and share their history of The Homestead. Very charming!! The staff accommodated us in finding a select table in the Jefferson lounge one night when we decided to dine earlier than planned and could not be seated in the busy resturant at the earlier hour. We were happy as clams! For lunch, the turkey club was big enough to share with some of the best French fries we have ever tasted! The turkey was “just carved”, the bacon thick and crispy. The vegan salad of arugula, quinoa and hummus was devoured quickly. For breakfast, the Western Omelette with melted cheddar on top was ordered multiple times as was the gargantuan avocado toast and the short stack pancakes. All in all, no disappointments. None.
We have eaten at Jefferson’s a number of times, and it continues to satisfy. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The food was wonderful; we had a party of six; everyone loved their dinner. We will be back.
Food from limited selection was good, well presented, proper temp., good taste; but didn't have any greatness for the price. Service ok but lacked any sense of enthusiasm.
The staff seemed a bit inexperienced, probably due to being closed for awhile for COVID-19. My grilled salmon came out close to raw which tells me the kitchen staff was green as well.
We were on vacation and visited Jefferson’s. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our server was very attentive to our needs. Our son has celiac disease and they went above and beyond to ensure he had quality food to eat.
Love everything about The Jefferson!
Until dessert (key lime pie) everything was pitch perfect. The key lime pie was just not up to the standards of this restaurant. Sad to end on such a note. Otherwise it was wonderful.
