Staff were absolutely fantastic - especially Holly! Great food, comforting and warming. Bar staff also very helpful and kind, will mix up anything you desire!
Absolutely fantastic. Special kudos to hostess Victoria for remembering us from prior trips and to server Carmen that remembered we always come for our anniversary!
We would come back. Service and ambiance was excellent:)
We were able to sit outside on the patio of Jefferson's which was great. Menu and food were wonderful. Great wine choices and Neville was an awesome waiter. Beautiful evening.
Special thanks to Colleen, Victoria and Carmen for their excellent service during our multiple visits to Jefferson's during our anniversary trip.
Highly recommend and hope see you all soon .
Great and respectful service!!! Waitresses were superb and very knowledgeable of food. Very careful about food allergies. Delicious selection of food and beverage.
We applause them with all restrictions and CDC guidelines great approach.
Highly recommend to do reservation!!!
Hope to see you all soon :)
Although I was disapointed that the main dinning room at the Homestead was closed, the our dinner at the Jefferson was a wonderful experience. The staff took the time to recognize the fact it was our anniversary. The service was impeccable and the food exceeded our expectations. I had the bone-in ribeye - most restaurants tend to under cook this cut of meat - I was very happy that the chef at the Jefferson prepared mine to perfection. Although the atmosphere at the Jefferson is different than the main dinning room - it still is a lovely setting for a special occasion.
There are not many choices at The Homestead and the menu is currently very limited but our meals here were delicious. The crabcake appetizer was delicious! We went back just for this dish. The drinks were very good and the service was excellent. The portions are very generous as well.
I waited for several weeks to right this review. I know that during the current times nothing is normal. But, that does not mean that servers cannot provide adequate service. We ate in this restaurant 4 times. Our experience each time was pretty much the same. We felt as though we were an inconvenience. The person at the host stand did not great us with even a simple hello. Our waiter did not seem to know anything about the food or wine menu. In the middle of taking our order another couple was seated several seats away and our waiter just stopped taking our order and walked over to the other couple. We were polite, generous tippers and not demanding so I'm not sure why our experience at this restaurant was so unimpressive. One evening we just wanted to get drinks in the bar before dinner but were told we couldn't sit in the bar unless we ordered food so we ordered an appetizer?
We love visiting the Homestead and food at Jefferson’s was great.
This was our first venture eating in a restaurant since March (we did this on 8/30). We didn’t know how it would go, but overall it was lovely. The service felt a little rushed, but it’s for the best not to linger indoors. The food was high quality, beautifully presented, and delicious. They didn’t push things we didn’t want and I think it was a good experience.
The food was top notch. Service was pretty good- could be a little better. We will definitely return!
Our family of four dined three nights, three breakfasts and a two lunches at the Jefferson. Every meal was freshly prepared with extraordinary taste and quality. Chef Roderick (and Ryan) came to our table to personally design a vegan meal for one guest at our table for each meal. She was beyond pleased with the effort! Honestly, the many orders of filet of beef, the New York Strip, the Allegheny Trout, the seared Salmon on a bed of puréed English peas and the vegan dishes were all extraordinary. The sides of mashed potatoes, spinach and Mac and cheese were happily fought over. And this coming from world travelers and DC restaurant locals! Wine list was considered and good values were found and enjoyed each night. The service was impeccable, even on the busier days and nights. All of the wait staff have been there for 10-24 years and happy to serve us and share their history of The Homestead. Very charming!! The staff accommodated us in finding a select table in the Jefferson lounge one night when we decided to dine earlier than planned and could not be seated in the busy resturant at the earlier hour. We were happy as clams! For lunch, the turkey club was big enough to share with some of the best French fries we have ever tasted! The turkey was “just carved”, the bacon thick and crispy. The vegan salad of arugula, quinoa and hummus was devoured quickly. For breakfast, the Western Omelette with melted cheddar on top was ordered multiple times as was the gargantuan avocado toast and the short stack pancakes. All in all, no disappointments. None.
We have eaten at Jefferson’s a number of times, and it continues to satisfy. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The food was wonderful; we had a party of six; everyone loved their dinner. We will be back.
Food from limited selection was good, well presented, proper temp., good taste; but didn't have any greatness for the price. Service ok but lacked any sense of enthusiasm.
The staff seemed a bit inexperienced, probably due to being closed for awhile for COVID-19. My grilled salmon came out close to raw which tells me the kitchen staff was green as well.
We were on vacation and visited Jefferson’s. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Our server was very attentive to our needs. Our son has celiac disease and they went above and beyond to ensure he had quality food to eat.
Until dessert (key lime pie) everything was pitch perfect. The key lime pie was just not up to the standards of this restaurant. Sad to end on such a note. Otherwise it was wonderful.
We had looked forward to our usual wonderful experience at Jefferson’s and were very surprised and disappointed to be seated in the lounge instead of the main dining room. The lounge is a lovely and casual space but not at all a fine dining environment which is what we expected. The ambience significantly detracted from our experience.
Food overpriced and average at best. Service was marginal. The whole experience had the feel of place past it’s prime trying to hang on.
Young Lady was beyond accomadating and very helpful. Dish was undercooked to my taste, and they immediately made it right.
The restaurant handle spacing during Covid very well. Table are nicely space, wait staffs wearing glove and mask at all times. Food qualities are excellent, even my kids chickens stripe was great. The only 1 minus for us is for the $48 steak it should at least come with 1 side. The chef did a very good job on the steak , my husband ask for Medium and it was perfect. My trout was excellent, flavor and temperature was just right.
Beautiful outdoor dining - setting, food, service were all solid.
Great service, though Covid has resulted in a reduced menu.
We had dinner here while visiting the Homestead for our mini honeymoon. The staff was super accommodating! Especially Colleen who had helped our friend surprise us with a bottle of champagne!! Food was incredible. Definitely need to save room for dessert the cobbler and apple pie were SPECTACULAR
Jackie is the best waitress ever!
We have eaten here several times and the I always order the filet mignon. It is consistently the best steak I have ever eaten.
Meal was delicious. The service was a tad slow, given they're just reopening but we didn't mind. The server was very friendly and helpful. We greatly appreciated all the efforts to keep guests safe and socially distanced.
Very good and felt they followed covid rules very well.
The Jefferson Grill was very nice, Steven our waiter was excellent, the food was delicious.
Asked for asparagus plain. Came soaked in butter. Only complaint. Everything else wonderful
The hotel has just reopened so we packed our patients. But nothing could’ve prepared us for what was a two hour wait for food. I had requested a table outdoors
Great food and service!
We had a delightful time and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable while implementing social distancing protocols. The menu items were interesting and well executed.
Steve took great care of us 😊
The food was delicious, the service was great, we really enjoyed the meal and the experience but it was far too expensive. The price of the entre would have been fine if it included a salad and side but it did not include anything else. All sides, including salads, were separately priced and overpriced to also. Except for the price, everything was great.
Great food in a great place. Limited menu for “tweens” and teens.
Good service & great food! Couldn't ask for any more!
Great dinner. Cowboy ribeye or filets are great choices.
