Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse - Lexington
It was wonderful to sit down and enjoy a conversation with wonderful food.
We dined at Jeff Ruby’s to celebrate our anniversary & were not disappointed. The food & service were excellent! Our server, Jordan was fantastic & was amazing at answering questions about the menu items regarding gluten.
We dined outside & were surprised to find heaters were only attached to the restaurant (on gave warmth to those sitting directly under them) & there were not any other heaters spaced throughout. Being kind of cold was the only downside.
Outstanding time we will be back. We were celebrating our recent marriage we are going to make it they’re often as a reminder
My wife had the wagyu steak and it sd on menu it was 38 $ our bill came and it was 318 for her steak. Wtf. Server should have enlightened me about this. Really dissatisfied with this gouge!
Birthday for my son! Server was very nice and recognized him several times! He also got a free very nice desert plate with 3 different great sweets!
Greatest meal in Lexington
Our server Amanda was amazing. Such a great dining experience. Will definitely be back soon.
Ryan was an excellent server and the food was amazing. He had vast knowledge of the menu and made excellent suggestions. We took his advice on the oysters and the carrot cake and we were not disappointed.
Love this restaurant!
Maybe they had a bad night. Service really slow and not very attentive. My husbands and my filet mignon came to the table cold. Waiter did not even bother to ask how our food was doing. Son‘s ribeye, ordered medium rare was on the very bloody side. As with KY basketball, this was a one and done.
We had my dad’s 81st Birthday there. Us 3 girls flew in from Fl, Va and Iowa.
3 people got steak and couldn’t hardly eat it. Said, it was like leather.
We had Gotten 2 Mac n cheeses. One we did not eat. Ask them to box it up for us.that they went to bag up along with some leftover potato’s. When we got home the Mac n Cheese wasn’t in the bag.
I made a reservation for 3 at a table outside. When we arrived, we were told we would be at the bar outside. After I offered 20 bucks a table was magically available. Very irritating.
They are not following COVID-19 guidelines. It was way too crowded.
It was my turn to plan our date night; I noticed an email in my inbox for Jeff Ruby's "$99 for two" special: 2 filet mignons and 2 lobster tails ending September 30th and couldn't pass it up. John, our waiter, and his team were fantastic. In fact, he was so thoughtful to take a pic of us and frame it; so sweet!
As for the food: the lobster was cooked to perfection as was the filet mignon. Asparagus could have used a wee bit of seasoning, but the homemade mashed potatoes (which was what pushed me over the edge to come) were smooth as butter and perfectly seasoned.
We did make room for dessert. Although our first choice was no longer available (the key lime pie) we went with the hubby's fave: the carrot cake. It was super moist and delicious!
All around great experience! I'm looking forward to November's special so I can have an excuse to go and celebrate my birthday!;-). Maybe they'll bring back the key lime pie by then....!:-).
I frequently bring clients to Jeff Ruby's and it has become my "go to" for an awesome experience. Alex, and Caroline are two of my favorites. They make it a point to know my name, my preferences in seating and drinks. I always feel like a Queen, yet at home when I walk into Ruby's. Thanks for coming to Lexington!
We went here to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! It was everything that we wanted and then some! Will definitely return!
I loved the music you played. The best filet I ever ate. We were celebrating two events and the white bourbon ball was the best ever. Our service was exceptional.
Waitress assistant was not very polite. Our Waitress, Shelby was excellent!
Great food, great service and the butter pie might be the best dessert I’ve ever eaten!
It was our first time visiting Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse and we had the very best time so we would definitely recommend Jeff Ruby's to all of our friends. We came to try out the restaurant because of the special but decided that we have to come back because the food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. We finished off the evening with the Big Blue Cake and the Carrot Cake which we split and they were the perfect ending to the evening. Great food, great atmosphere, great fun!
We were not even greeted by any part of the service staff for 15 minutes. Then we got some water and it was another 10 minutes before our server arrived asking if we were ready to order. He never asked if we wanted cocktails or anything else to drink. Once we ordered drinks it took 15- 20 minutes for them to arrive and they were watered down which indicates they were ready and sitting for a while before the server brought them to us. The food was alright, but not worth what we paid for. Ordered coffee after dinner, it didn’t come and had to ask for it again. Service was SLOW but should not be an excuse since they were not really busy!!! We watched other parties sit down and wait for the server to arrive, they never did, so they got up and left. We had eaten here twice last year due to good experiences, but we will be returning to Tony’s instead after this dinner.
Great atmosphere and great food. We sat at the bar. So warning! Did not get the most attentive service. Server was also the bartender, so knew she was going to be spread thin, but were introduced to two other people who were "helping". They never showed back up to assist her in anyway. Had to bus our own table and move plates and use the same silverware for each course (had appetizers, salad, and main). Disappointing for the price that we got not the best service. Would rather go to Malone's and get better service. Overall though experience was fun and they gave us a present for celebrating a birthday!
It was my birthday dinner and from the beginning I made reservations for six outside seating, three days before I called to confirm, I was told I had only make reservations for four. I was lost for words, one thing I hate is to look silly when checking in.
Long story short I asked if I could add one more person,I was told I would get a call if someone canceled but never got that call. I called back to ask if it started to rain what would be the next steps I was told that I would not be accommodated. So i guess that meant I would spend over 200 dollars for food and eat in the rain? No!
Fast forward dinner night I checked in and was told my party no longer had to sat outside, Thank god because 10mins later it started to pour down raining.
Once in side the atmosphere was amazing and the service was over the top!!! The food was horrible!!!! For the price of my steak, I felt like I got a lump of coal. Overall the service was impeccable, but I beg the differ when it came to dinner.
Belated Anniversary dinner. Every thing was great. The staff was very attentive to our table. Our food was excellent.
Food was amazing, waiter was knowledgeable of products, and overall experience was excellent.
Restaurant is very nice, service was spectacular. Outdoor seating comfortable but loud due to emergency vehicles and aggravation from flies, but those are uncontrollable. Food was good, not sure the steaks are worth hardly what they are priced. Had steaks just as good from other less expensive restaurants. Nice location to try though for a special occasion. It was for my wife and I’s anniversary so we had a good time trying a new place.
By far the best restaurant in Lexington! Great atmosphere, great food, amazing staff!
Wonderful evening. Always a great experience. Highly recommended
Excellent experience. Dinner was delicious. Great for special occasions.
Outstanding Food and Service!! Pricey but worth it!
1st time visitors it was interesting. Mezzo in Midway Ky is better
The service and food was outstanding. Excellent Burger, Caesar Salad and Blueberry Cake.
Enjoyed a cowboy steak, Mac and cheese, sushi, couple of cocktails outside at the bar with Matt B. Amazing meal, catered by consummate professionals. Amazing!!!
As always, great time
Steven was an excellent and well informed waiter. Food was excellent.
We sat at the outdoor patio table and my only thought is they should have tablecloths like a patio table in Europe. It would add further to the elegance of Jeff Ruby's.
Loved everything (again) today. Our server was amazing. Hostesses were welcoming and engaging. Food was stellar, as usual. Thanks for a great birthday dinner!
The steak and lobster was fantastic. Great service.
We ate on the patio and I like the addition of the tents. The food was excellent, the service good, and the ambiance was, as always, pleasant. Thanks for another great evening!
Jeff Ruby’s is my absolute favorite restaurant and that’s coming from a non meat eater! I hope you always keep the sea bass on your menu. My husband and son say your steaks are the best. This was our first time dining at the Lexington location - we typically go to Cincinnati. The top notch service and ambiance matched what we’ve experienced in Cincinnati. We’ve decided to make eating at all your locations a goal! Thanks for being so terrific!
