Went there on the recommendation of "Open Table". Went for lunch/brunch and had a fantastic meal. The service was outstanding. The drinks were great. New to their menu was the meatloaf which I ordered. The chef nailed it. Perfect. Will be going there again for dinner.
Excellent food and service at this charming old inn in the heart of Long Island wine country. We enjoyed the soups to start (NE Clam Chowder and the special Butternut Squash). For our main courses we enjoyed the duck and pork chops. The service was friendly and attentive. This was a great place for a special occasion. Highly recommend.
Outstanding food and service
Beautifully decorated day by the fireplace
We always enjoy going but the food was definitely not as good as it usually is. All in all still a good time.
Featured a simple well curated menu with every single dish we ordered arriving hot and delectable. A wonderful experience.
Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Good atmosphere. nice place to celebrate an event.
Great food and service, the most beautiful dinning location on the north fork, we love the Jedediah Hawkins Inn. We had couple of drinks and some appetizers in the speakeasy before dinner which was very cool with the fireplace on, so many great aspects of this place.
Love this place! It's old world charm plus updated touches make it so appealing! Their food is great too! Great & cozy in the winter by the fireplace!
We went earlier than our reservation and went down to the speakeasy for a drink. Awesome vibe!!! We all really enjoyed our food and the server was super nice. We will definitely be back =)
This was my second time dining here, but the first time was several years ago. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was outstanding. I had the halibut entree which was fresh and delicious. My shrimp appetizer was underwhelming but ok. The wine selection was impressive, with lots of local options. I will definitely be back.
We dined on a Monday evening while visiting the area. It was Restaurant Week but this restaurant didn’t seem to have participated. We were the only dining guests and it felt odd - like why are the open on Mondays.
That said, we had good service although not as attentive as you might guess given the circumstances. Our food was timed well and arrived piping hot. Both of us thought highly of our entrees and the only quibble was the high cost. Not unexpected as we had reviewed the menu before visiting, but we left with the impression that the over-all experience didn’t quite live up to the pretense.
It may be because we were alone and so quiet that without some foodie vibe things felt off. I would give it another try to find out - maybe a weekend evening next time.
Last minute booking. Reviews indicated farm to table dining. My experience wasn't exactly that as the menu did not have much in the farm to table realm. Setting is beautiful restored historic home/inn. Quiet and romantic. Many fun rooms to see as well. Food was above average but not quite excellent.
I have been there a few times. The food is good. The service is very uneven as is the noise level. I think lunch is a better experience. The staff needs more hospitality, food service and customer interface training.
The food was excellent although a filet had to be sent back to the kitchen for being too rare when medium was ordered.we had to ask for sugar and a teaspoon when coffee was ordered. They both should have been brought with the coffee
I took my wife there for her birthday and could not of asked for a better nights.
From bartender to bus persons, every one friendly and attentive
Wonderful place for dinner with family or friends. Cozy, warm and delish !
We stopped by after work for a quick bite and a drink at the bar. Very good! She had andouille sausage with brie and mustard. And a very nice local Chardonnay. I had the duck wings and a local sparkling wine. Food was excellent and the wines were a perfect match.
Wonderful charming historic home atmosphere. Liked our table beside fireplace.
Salad, appetizer and entrees were fantastic. Warm friendly service.
We would definitely be back again if on Long Island.
We had a great time ! The food was delicious . Our hostess was very attentive to all of our needs . The house was beautiful and very clean as well as the grounds . We will be back at some point .
The restaurant is excellent. Local foods from the North Fork are used in their inventive dishes and they are executed perfectly. Mulled cider cocktail as well as the pear martini were both great to start. They offer wine from the local wineries. The duck was a standout dish. Excellent dessert menu as well.
Very nice place with good food. Scenic views nice place to have a special occasion at. Think the service could be improved a little slow on the weekends.
My boyfriend and I had an extremely bizarre experience here. First, we couldn't figure out how to get in from the back parking lot as it was extremely dark and there were several doors. My boyfriend went in through the handicapped entrance and had to make his way through the rooms to find me since I went through what may have been the front door. When I walked in, I couldn't figure out if I was in the right place as I walked into a bar party which seemed like it was a bunch of "finance bros" and their wives. I finally got the attention of the bartender who told me to wait for someone. 5 minutes later, a waitress came and took us to our table which was in a small quiet room off the bar. From the time we sat down, it felt like they were trying to get rid of us. This was especially strange since the room we were in was not filled and I know that there are other rooms for dining as well and it was definitely not busy there (It was a Wednesday night). Our food came EXTREMELY quickly like under 10 minutes which is very strange for a restaurant of this caliber. It makes you think that they use microwaves. My boyfriend said his pasta was delicious. My salmon was just ok (I've made better). Despite all of the rushing, our waitresses were very nice. I say waitresses because there were 3 people waiting on us. Asking us the same questions one after another. Other things to note- the music that was playing was terrible (bad 90's one hit wonders) and completely didn't work with the decor or the vibe the restaurant seems to be going for. Also, a woman dining solo came in after we did and she did not seem to be rushed like we were. Perhaps they take care of their hotel guests better than their diners. Maybe it was good that they rushed us as I was very happy to be out of that Twilight Zone episode quickly. It was just an all in all bizarre experience.
I would try them for brunch as I feel that it might be better during the day. But I will definitely not be going back for dinner.
Always our favorite spot when we visit the north fork, the food is consistently spot on and the service is friendly, attentive and professional. Always recommend!
The meal was one of the best that I ever had. Wife and M-I-Law had butternut squash soup and I had the New England clam chowder. Both were delicious. Entrees were Parpadelle with peas and mushrooms, halibut and the tenderest pork chop that I ever had. The food , service and ambiance were all top notch. It was worth the 65 mile drive to get there. We will be back to stay at the Inn and have dinner again.
Every year my husband and his siblings plan a day trip to the vineyards on the North Fork of Long Island. This year the weather would not cooperate and we wound up having to find a place to have brunch. We stumbled upon Jedidiah Hawkins and lucked out. A charming B&B with a lovely Victorian ambiance, but most importantly, great food. From the drinks through main course to dessert, everything was inventive and exceptionally tasty. Besides being delicious, the portions were huge. Everyone left with a doggy bag. We are now going to incorporate this restaurant into our annual trek. Try it, it's worth it.
Me wife and I got married here last year and made it a point to come back for our anniversary. This place is so unique and special with amazing food and service.
We came here after apple picking. Glad we did! Started with crispy shrimp w/ a tasty dipping sauce, scallop sliders w/ an apricot chutney (amazing!), and mussels. Moved on to duck and chicken. Finished with chocolate cake and sorbet. Accompanied by drinks from local wineries. Excellent food. Very good service too. We'll be back at holiday time!
I was a bit underwhelmed. While the pear and walnut salad was SUPERB, the rest of our food was good but not great and pricey. Service was polite but absentminded (no spoon for the soup?) And being seated in the greenhouse half-filled with tables with kids did not say "fine dining."
Last time there food was not good at all
New chef is excellent will go back soon
A romantic setting if you get there early or late when all the tables aren't full. The rooms of the inn are relatively small so it doesn't feel as if your in a typical restaurant. Can't wait to return!
Such a beautiful place, food and service was amazing! New favorite restaurant!
Always a delicious meal at Jedediah! I'm a regular! Staff is exceptional.
Good food charming Would have been nice if our anniversary was acknowledged ( that I did specify)
We were there on a Friday night. Very nice dining room and setting...Dinner was very good..we started with the clam chowder..great flavor but would have liked more potato and clam piece..it was pretty well puréed .. my husband started with the scallop crudo, tasted very fresh but needed a little more seasoning.. For entrees we had the ciopinno and bass..both were very good..the mussels were huge which I could not eat but my husband ate them ..bass came with a really nice risotto or something similar and fish had a nice seasoned crust on it. Dessert was the apple crisp..good! Started with the special old fashion ..very delicious!
Only critique would be the Pace of the service..a few times we felt forgotten.. there seemed to be just one server for the entire dinning room.
Very pleasant venue. The food is good, Not exceptional, but the location and decor make up for it
We had dinner with my sister and her husband, and it was excellent. The four of us split some appetizers (duck wings, shrimp, and scallops), and we then had the cioppino (2 of us), the duck breast/leg combo, and the salmon. Each dish was delicious and a good sized portion. We finished with chocolate cake and the brownie sundae. We ordered several wines that paired quite well with our food. All in all, outstanding food and service (in a glass enclosed sunroom).
Really nicely done inn with fine food. Ambiance was great and very quiet, which we appreciated.
could not complain about anything. Staff was attentive food very good, all and all a lovely experience.
Exceptional cuisine presented beautifully...A friendly On point staff there to greet you....The landscape surrounding JH makes you feel like your in Northern France in April....I keep returning to dine with my friends... Kudo's to the entire staff @ JH....see you real soon.....thx a million !!
