This was our first time on this venue. Great service. They were quick and food was very good as well.
I would not eat here again. I can make better food..
This was the perfect place to eat before Hamilton. We loved it so much we almost booked a room for that very evening!
Great service, great food and amazing location!
It's a hipster cafeteria or a convenient place to eat if you're staying in the hotel. The food was not great, not bad, but not great. No real atmosphere to speak of.
This location is not on open table and it is dirty. Bugs flying and in drinks dirty. Not worth the money
Food was terrible. Atmosphere was boring. Drinks took longer than the food (and weren’t even good). Price definitely did not match quality.
You don’t even need a reservation, it’s just a cafe with an order counter.
Thanks for dining with us! You're correct, while we almost always have room to take any walk-in group, we do like to recommend making reservations on the weekend for brunch (which yes is counter style service) or for dinner (which is traditional dining service) so we can make sure we have a table available. We hope you enjoyed your meal, and we look forward to seeing you again Warmly, Jane Q
Had the cinnamon waffles & smoke salmon. Good food.
Buenas recomendaciones de nuestro mesero. Buena comida.
Terrible service mediocre food high prices.
It was fine. It was less of a restaurant than we coveted. It is more of a drop by or take out. Maybe caused by COVID.
Food was very disappointing. Have had the steak there several times pre-pandemic, and it was delicious. This time both of our cuts were tough. Sprouts were delicious but not hot. Potato cube was also cold. I'm sad I forgot to order the delicious bread but it was probably for the best. We were too tired to deal with a redo...
I'm going to say that I would recommend JaneQ simply because I have enjoyed lunch and dinner in the past. I really enjoyed the two weeks stay at the hotel.
I'll be back, but I won't hesitate to return an unsatisfying meal.
We have had several meals at Jane Q in the past and decided, having not been there since before the March 2020 lockdown to return for dinner earlier this week. We were warmly greeted and all appropriate protective measures were in place. We ordered two salads including a gem lettuce caesar salad and we shared a steak. We had ordered the steak to be pink/medium, and it came to the table closer to medium well. It was still delicious but it was not cooked as ordered. The salad lettuce looked tired and brown on the edges. We were hungry and chose to just eat it. Giving it thought after the fact, we should have sent it back. As we left we noted that the chef was not the usual who has always been there before--the one with the abundant tattoos. We think he may have been a substitute. We will certainly return, though next time we will likely return food that was not up to par. Usually the food is great there, but this time the service shined and the food was disappointing. Hopefully it was a one time thing, and the regular chef will be behind the counter soon.
This hotel cafe is trying to be fancy and hip as befits its location just up the street from the Pantages on Hollywood Boulevard, but does not quite rise to its level. The best thing about it is that it is a roomy quite space to talk.
Wonderful food, great service and a perfect and convenient pre theater location.
The waiter gave great advice on drinks and entrees Jane Q had prepared. Appetizers and desserts were outstanding, overall positive experience dining on February 14th, 2020.
I came here to take my boyfriend out for a Valentine’s dinner. I read about Jane Q on Yelp and saw they had a pre fixe Valentine’s dinner. This place is so well done! Beautiful clean lines and great use of the lofty space. The lighting was perfect and romantic. Our server was friendly and attentive. My boyfriend (who rarely sends anything g back) had a flank steak that was over cooked and our server got him a new one and put the overcooked one in a container to take to our dog. Very thoughtful! Everything was delicious except for the raspberry pannacotta, which was pretty bland. After dinner we went upstairs to play pool at the bar/lounge area. Such a cool spot! We will definitely be back.
Very friendly staff. The food was really good.
We have been to Jane Q for lunch so thought it might be too familiar for Valentine's eve: my mistake. Jane Q amped up by creating a softly lit atmosphere, white tablecloths, sparkly lights and the evening sparkle of Hollywood's surrounding lights in the evening glow created a wonderful ambiance. The service is always good and my husband's grilled salmon was a "memorable" experience. I had the $45 3-course special dinner and loved the hazelnut, frisee, pear salad; roasted chicken and refreshing raspberry sorbet with accompanying fresh fruit. Thank you Jane Q for surprising us and giving us a memorable Valentine's eve experience.
Great Happy Hour throughout the dining room. You can order happy hour then at 530 the rest of the menu opens up to fill out your dining options. We love coming here before a show at the Pantages just a quick walk down the hill. We've been here twice before shows and will do it every time!
Good choice for the area; quality food, but pricey. Ambiance is nice and modern. Food is delicious and fresh. Bar offerings at the restaurant could be more comprehensive, but there is a full bar just above at the hotel lobby. Service is attentive but non-obtrusive. A short walk to the Pantages makes it a great pre-show spot.
The staff here are what makes it so pleasant. They are friendly, attentive and most accommodating. I really enjoy the food and the Happy Hour is wonderful.
Nice food, casual atmosphere. Seems more appropriate for breakfast at a hotel than a nice evening out. Walking distance to Pantages so that is convenient. Food was good but nothing stellar.
Thank you kindly for the review!
This restaurant accepted a reservation for my night, and then without letting us know, closed the entire restaurant for filming. The only other option was to eat at the noisy, crowded bar. Don't have open timeslots if you are gonna close your restaurant.
Excellent service. Accommodating and pleasant and helpful. We had our 3 year old grandson with us and the waiter brought food immediately.
Excellent meal and service in this restaurant. Ideal for pre theater dining and delicious food and goos portion options.
The food and service we're fantastic! The servers were very friendly and food tasted great!
Glad to hear your experience with us was fantastic! We look forward to having you again!
It was empty which should have sent me away. And yet they were all out of pizza. There was a DJ in the adjoining room which made it impossibly loud. I get the deal about serving shared dishes as soon as they are cooked but they brought a hamburger well before the other mains. The smoked salmon appetizer was very good. Eggplant parm tasteless. But there was no read for the restaurant to be open adjacent to a dance floor.
I appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback. At the moment, we are currently working on pushing back the music times to give diners more of that relaxed vibe. I apologize that we had no pizzas on the night of your visit. I can assure you that its a rare occurrence especially since pizzas are a big commodity here in Jane Q. Come join us for our brunch hours which are everyday until 3 PM. You'll find it to be more relaxed with our counter service and delicious array of espresso drinks.
This was very convenient for a pre-theatre dinner for an event at the Pantages. The menu is short and to the point and the 3 of us really enjoyed our food. The service was good and very welcoming.
Your pretty standard cafe, coffee and pastry place. Although a beautiful setting the food was fine but not fantastic. Service was outstanding and delightful.
Starter was just ok. Pizza for the kids was good. Fries were cold. My husbands steak was poor quality for the price. My mussels were so over cooked they had just about evaporated.
Hotel had v hip aesthetic. We were looking for restaurant near Walk of Fame....in hindsight we should have eaten on the Walk of Fame as it was quite a walk. Service staff looked v surprised that we had made a reservation as it had a v casual vibe and was not necessary....there were lots of free tables. Wasn’t quite what we were expecting from reviews, bit more casual than we had thought, but would definitely be good to eat there if you are staying at hotel. That said, the food was tasty and the staff made a lot of effort to make the evening pleasant.
We were looking for a restaurant near the Pantages. We were dining with two other couples. We saw this place listed and decided to try it. What a wonderful surprise! We made it in time for happy hour. The food was amazing. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The biggest surprise, the man we were dining with happened to be the architect of this Establishment and hand never eaten there. He was very happy that everything turned out. Would definitely go again.
Great food with a casual experience. Bar area which provides live music on weekends and special events is open to the restaurant below creating a nice after dinner option as well
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We ordered from the DineLA menu. Would definitely recommend the chicken, pork meat balls and salads. The desserts were also fabulous. I will definitely go back for dinner or brunch.
Good pizza, not a good burger. Great gin with blackberry. Not muddled. A bit watered down. Ot was good though.
Wife had a vodka and soda, but if there was vodka in the drink it fooled me.
had the best time at Jane Q, everything was outstanding from service to food & the portions were a great bang for our buck. Can't wait to go back and lounge at the upstairs bar!
I was a bit underwhelmed by this place. We made a reservation to eat there before a show at the Pantages. The salmon rillettes were very different than we thought they would be by the menu description and the beet salad was just okay. I ordered the salmon entree and although it was good, I wondered where the rest of it was. It was literally a 3 inch square piece with some fennel and olives. That is all for $32? My husband got the cheeseburger and added bacon. That was over $20 and came with nothing else.
That being said, the service was great and I think the Happy Hour deals seemed pretty good. I just found this place expensive for what you get, albeit very convenient if you're going to the Pantages.
Great food, great space, great service
Jane Q is a modern restaurant that is part of the Kimpton Hotel. We dined during happy hour which made pricing awesome. 4$ Pinot Noir and 6$ appetizers that were very good. The dinner menu is limited, but the options we tried were really good. I had the salmon with a beet salad. Delicious. Our server was very helpful in making decisions and recommendations that fit our taste and budget. The happy hour is the best deal and highly recommended. Very nice and friendly staff. I would definitely dine here again.
