MODERN MALAYSIAN FARE IN THE HEART OF PECKHAM
Welcome to Janda Diner. We are anything but your average Malaysian restaurant.

Here, you can tuck into both classic Malaysian dishes and some fun, creative twists. Our Head Chef and owner, Ady Yacob, is the genius behind it all. With a Grand Diplôme from Cordon Bleu and a huge love for his home cuisine, Ady teamed up with his buddy Lanny to bring you a dining experience that’s truly one of a kind.

We are known for our signature dishes: amazing rich beef rendang, spicy moreish milk fried chicken and sumptuous grilled seabass.

In our first year we were honoured as a best in the city restaurant by Time Out London.

So, what’s with the name ‘Janda’? It means female divorcee in Malay. Some folks might wonder why we chose it, but us, it’s all about freedom and empowerment, not judgment. It’s about being proud of who you are and celebrating life. We really hope that passion shines through in our food and service!

Service is somewhat lacking. Needs to be a bit more attentive. Noodles were quite soggy compared to those I’ve had in Penang, Malaysia.

Flavoursome food, nicely presented. We were late due to transport issues and they still managed to accommodate us which was great as phone number went to voicemail (wasn't sure if this was direct to restaurant or to open table). Service was attentive - lovely Sunday evening meal.

Wonderful authentic Malaysian food and great atmosphere. Staff very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Limited wine selection but corkage is possible so we brought our own. Will definitely return!

We had a table reserved. The staff clearly forgot our order and we waited an hour for prawn crackers. Tables that arrived 15-20 minutes after us were finishing their food before we received anything. Our drink order was also forgotten. The steak was overdone. Then we had to wait 15 minutes extra because the restaurant had made issues giving our bill to another table. This was recommended and was our anniversary meal. I haven't left a bad review before but it really was not a satisfactory experience. It was £85 and over two hours for essentially one decent meal.

Lovely spot and brilliant service. Delicious food and lots of GF options. A bit smoky with being near the kitchen, but that didn't put us off. Worth a visit, we'll be going back!

Very buzzy place - great authentic food as always (this was our 4th visit and we love Janda's food) - pretty noisy and slightly cramped on a Friday evening but this is Peckham!

I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic—every bite was bursting with flavor, and I can honestly say I’ve never had anything quite so delicious. The standout for me was the fish dish, which was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The seasoning was spot on, and the freshness of the ingredients really shone through. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back with my friends!

We went for a late lunch on Sunday as a group of 8. The food was divine - so fresh, so flavourful and so unique. We all loved it. Staff were very attentive to my friend’s allergies and the non alcoholic drinks were fab. You must try the sea bass and the milk fried chicken.
