    Delicious food as usual - shrimp tapas, piquillo peppers, Iberia ham fritters, asparagus, hangar steak, pan con tomat, and more, tho the beet salad was a bit wilted. We sat outside on a lovely night. Only complaint was that the food and drinks were a bit slower to arrive than what we’re used to at Jaleo.

    A great catch up dinner with an out of town friend. We both ordered the Jaleo Classics Chef’s Tasting Menu and it was fabulous. A good mix of favorite dishes and items I had not tried before. We enjoyed every dish! The spread gave us lots to talk about. As Jaleo is celebrating Sangria Summer, I had a cava rose sangria, which was light, bubbly and summer in a glass. My friend went with a classic, a Spanish gin & tonic with watermelon that was fabulous.

    Fabulous, fun, delicious, and very accommodating to special dietary issues. There's a separate menu for allergies and sensitivities, and it was handled in a very matter-of-fact "no big deal" kind of way. And of course, anything with Jose Andres' name on it is not going to disappoint. We had a wonderful lunch, and my guests -- who were able to eat some of the things that I could not -- reported that their plates were fabulous as well. Gazpacho was a big hit. I had pollo con pisto y salsa de ajillo, and it was rich and unctious without being overwhelmed by garlic. You can't go wrong with patatas bravas, either. Among the other plates we ordered were chorizo ibérico de bellota, and paletilla Ibérica de bellota -- and the paletilla was well worth the splurge. I hesitated at first to apply five stars to any of my reviews because I've read that algorithms actually "demote" five-stars as hyperbole. But in the end, I have to be honest and my honest take is that we had a five-star lunch. My only non-five-star observation was that it got a little loud...but what do you expect in a popular lunch spot? I would not hesitate to go again, or to recommend that you go as well.

    Somos de España, y siempre que visitamos Washington, intentamos comer en el Jaleo. Nunca hemos salido decepcionados, es como estar en casa. La comida es perfecta, el servicio increíble, y el cariño y la admiración que sentimos ante el Chef José Andrés, hace que la experiencia sea insuperable. Esas patatas bravas, esas croquetas, el pulpo, los buñuelos de bacalao, la chiatorra, los postres......hasta poder tomar una cerveza de España es un placer:) Volveremos!
