Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.
Flauta de chorizo
Chorizo ibrico de bellota
Traditional chicken fritters
The ultimate Spanish tapa: potato salad with imported conserved tuna, carrots, peas and mayonnaise
Pretty good overall. Food was okay - the brussels sprouts were way too salty, and so was the bread with tomato. Service; however, was great!
Always love this place. I was impressed with how they are handling the distance between tables.
Safety precautions due to covid, were outstanding. I felt that every precaution was taken. Outstanding food, Service was amazing. Best dining experience I have had in years.
Had dinner here during CoVid19 era, sat outside. they had heaters and every table was socially distanced. mask required. will come back food and drink was awesome
This is my second time at this Jaleo location (the Crystal City one is lovely, too!). This time I brought my 10yo daughter for just a little girls' night out. The service was friendly, food always spectacular (you can't beat their patatas bravas), and we loved the extra accommodations they made to keep folks safe and clean.
Service was amazing. A person in out party has a dairy allergy and our waiter knew the entire menu and what they should not order. He was also super friendly.
Everything was stellar as always. I’ve been multiple times and never had anything that wasn’t delicious.
Nos faltó el pan y que las raciones fueran algo mayores.
We had Sunday Brunch on 10/11. There were only 4 items on the Sunday brunch menu - which I didn’t catch when I looked at the website. We were never told until our food was delivered that we could also order from the main menu - not just the Sunday brunch menu.
Part of the problem could have been we had some trouble getting service when we got there. I had to find someone to ask where our server was. A little unusual, since the restaurant had only a few seats filled.
The food was excellent - but a little disappointed in everything else Not a typical Garces experience. Maybe I just expect more from his restaurants.
Good social distancing for outdoor dining! Menu a bit shorter than usual but still very good!
Had a table outside on a beautiful evening. Service was excellent as was the food.
Pleasant outdoor patio & incredible service. Inconsistent food.
The food was good, nothing impressive but good. I tried some "bocadillos" that were good and a Paella Valenciana that was fine.
It was a really awesome experience. Will definitely come back :)
Olga was amazing!
Great service and good food. Great for outdoor seating as well.
Nice separation from guests. I actually forget to bring a mask and they actually gave me one during my visit. The Menu is now on your phone, so bring your phone.
The food was amazing but the service was slow. We had the tasting menu and the servers did not really explain what each course was.
The prix fixe lunch menu has terrific selections and is a great value. The creme brulee is to die for.
Weekday lunch was quiet but the staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was extremely tasty and the "pick 3 plus dessert" $20 lunch menu gave us both enough choices to have an interesting meal by sharing bites between us.
Absolutely incredible food, wine, and sangrias. The staff are very accommodating, and they're taking COVID precautions seriously. I can't wait for my next trip back!
Made a last minute reservation for a solo lunch. The almuerzo rapido was a great deal - 4 courses with a sangria for $25.
Super nice service. Great care was given to the table.
It's not the same level of execution at this time as it had been in the past. Is the food good? Yes. It is a good tapas bar. Is it the same level of dining experience that it has been in the past? No. If you want Jose's type of "gastronomy" from his days at El Bulli, this isn't the place anymore.
Jaleo DC is one of my all time favorite restaurants. My party & I went to experience the Tomatina Festival menu & it did not disappoint. Each food offering was exquisitely delicious. The service was impeccable & the atmosphere relaxing.
Jaleo is always a great place to celebrate. Food is simply amazing and service to match. They have done an excellent job with their safety precautions with hand sanitizing stations throughout the restaurant and protective plastic screens in between each seating section. All the staff were wearing masks and gloves. So happy to have celebrated my birthday there again for the second year in a row!
Tasty food and drinks in a fun setting. And great value with the menu traditional. All plates were really good, from the salal to the pollo to the carne asada to the flan.
The margarita donostiarra is delicious, must have if you like spicy drinks and mezcal.
Excellent social distancing pratices! Indoor seating: tables are separated by a nicely decorated plexiglass, all staff wears masks and gloves, hand sanitizer dispenser across the venue, and they even do an extra cleaning before you seat. Digital menu and payment options
Excellent food, service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Amazing.. One of the best restaurants in Dc. If you really want to try fresh Spain food you need to go here.
Jaleo is always great - food is delicious, wine is very good, and the service is always fast and friendly, without being intrusive. Whether you eat inside (socially distanced with plexiglas, etc.) or outside as we did this time, it's a great experience!
Excellent job on safety
Very uninspiring experience. All dishes were pretty bland, overcooked or just made lazily. It used to be our favorite restaurant when visiting DC. Not coming back. Very sad.
Our waiter, Faustino was fantastic! So friendly and attentive! Every tapas dish was beautifully presented, and tasted delicious. Jaleo is doing a great job in taking safety measures during COVID. It's become our go-to place in DC. Great wine list too!
The $35/ five dish classico menu is perfect! And food is consistently delicious. This was my second time in one week.
A friend and I who are long time patrons of Jaleo had a delightful dinner outside. We had our regular favorites and a few other things. Everything was terrific and we both thought it was even better than usual (which is a very high bar).
Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Delicious food brought out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
Had a great time with my girlfriend there. Our bartender was amazing he actually helps us more than the waiter so we ensured tip him as though he was the waiter because he took our order and all. Great place overall.
The food was FANTASTIC. I loved each selection more than the last.
I always recommend Jaleo to friends visiting DC.
Excellent food, great service, decor could be a bit more intimate.
Loved getting the tapas! They kept on coming and were amazing. Great people too.
