They offered an awesome assorted menu for Valentine's Day.
All the tapas that we had were underseasoned. It seems like someone is not putting salt on dishes. It was very underwhelming. Spanish food should be stronger on garlic but it was pretty weak. Our hanger steak was overcooked. Our server was awesome.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was amazing and at a great value. Service times could be improved, but I guess it is normal in a busy day like Valentine’s. Overall an amazing experience.
I always love the food and atmosphere at Jaleo. Knocked down to 4 starts because the service was subpar. We were yelled at for trying to get in at our reservation time because they were behind schedule, which I understand, but the manner in which they handled it was unprofessional. Will still keep returning for amazing food and drinks.
Waiter took 45 mins to bring us any drink or food, rarely checked in on us. Food was fine not great. Understandable because of Covid but not a great experience overall.
We sat outside (on the street) under the tent. Even though there was a heater right beside our table, we were FREEEEZZING!!! It took a few hours for my body temp to come back to normal after we left there. Definitely would NOT recommend sitting outside as it was not warm at all.
Other than this, the food was amazing, and service very good.
food as always was delicious. they did a great job with spacing tables and making everyone feel safe.
The Tapas menu is excellent. Very unique dishes. We will definitely return.
Jaleo is always great! The food is always delicious and never disappoints.
This is one of my all-time favourite restaurants in Washington the food never fails to disappoint and services always excellent
A very vibrant restaurant my girlfriend and I got lucky Valentine’s Day weekend in dc
Amazing spot! I wish the Bethesda location was still open. :/
Can’t talk about Tapas in DC without having at least eaten at Jaleo.
So disappointed with the food. Lack of simple seasonings, under salted items and generally bland. Didn’t know it was restaurant week, but that shouldn’t matter.
Restaurant week was amazing! Delicious food and great service.
Wonderful food and great ambiance! Would definitely recommend and will go back soon.
We sat outside under a tent during a cold evening. Food was great, service a bit slow but very warm and kind, the outdoor seating less so. Our heater wasn't really working (tank was eventually replaced after we asked about it a few times), and the speaker playing music was directly in front of us. Overall, it was a fun experience, but there needs to be a little more attention to the details outside.
Always love our meals at Jaleo... consistently wonderful food. They did a good job managing how to dine safely with current pandemic issues which we appreciated. Also, we are grateful that Jaleo has long made food allergen information clear on their menu. A family member has Celiac disease and Jaleo was one of the first places that made gluten info clear. Such a gift to be able to go out for excellent food and know that it's safe as well.
Exceptional food & customer service. My favorite restaurant to visit when in DC.
great tapas selection, portions not so small. We were there for restaurant week and loved it.
Great outdoor dining set up and all safety protocols make for a wonderful lunch! The cuisine is always top notch!
It was so nice to be back at Jaleo. I have missed them so much over the last 10 months. We sat outside, it was breezy on the day we were there, but the tents are three sided and the tables a little close together, but we felt fairly safe. The staff was as attentive as always and the food was fantastic as usual. A teeny sliver of normalcy in this crazy world!
Best meal I’ve ever had! Service, food, and ambiance were 12/10
Restaurant week. Fantastic menu as always. Great service
Food was great but outdoor seating was freezing!
The service was fantastic and attentive. The drinks were delicious (get the rose sangria!)
We went to Jaleo for the DC Winter Restaurant Week. The food and service was great as usual. The only thing I would recommend is to pick your own wines instead of doing the tasting.
Great service, atmosphere, and food was excellent. Went during restaurant week and food was amazing.
You can’t go wrong with the many choices - they do a great job with outdoor dining as well as incredible attention to outdoor dining.
Superb meal and superb service. Especially loved the carne asada and the shrimps with garlic. Our waiter made a great wine recommendation as well.
It's a bit sad to have the tables separated by large clear plexiglas, so you're safer...just less like the crazy controlled chaos of pre-covid visits. Keep this great restaurant open! You'll love it.
We did the tasting menu and wine pairings it was fantastic!
We loved the tasting menu. It was a great way to try a variety of dishes!
Incredible tapas and the outdoor seating was still warm even on a cold night.
Excellent food, excellent service! They took great safety measures and kept us warm outside! Awesome ambiance!
Enjoyed a special afternoon of drinks and snacks with dear friends in COVID safe outdoor, covered environment. Perfection!
Great out door seating for the winter and still a great place to dine as always during these trying times.
Great as always. The heaters for the outside dining made it very comfortable.
Choose the 5 course tapas with the chicken dish and Arroz con Leche for dessert. Excellent and you can't go wrong in this Jose Andres restaurant that continues creative and delicious choices as it has for years
I made a reservation for 830PM. My partner and I got there and we were told that only untented tables were available. This does not make sense given we made a reservation. We told a table under the tent would be a 30 minute wait so we opted for an outdoor table without a tent. The server sat us down. The server moved the space heater a bit, but did not turn it on. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. No one acknowledged us or asked us for our order although we knew what we wanted in 10 minutes. I could not take the cold anymore. And no one turned on the space heater for us. We walked inside and asked for a table in a tent. That's when we saw our server (dressed in black clothing) coming up the stairs from the bottom floor of the restaurant with another man. Overhearing the staff in gray clothing it sounded like the person who was supposed to serve us (dressed in black and tall guy) was actually downstairs for 20 minutes with a guy whose name started with the letter R. We got a table in a tent 20 minutes later. So now it is about 910pm, for a reservation we made at 830pm. We were assigned a new server, and he was great (small guy) and quick with asking us for our order and providing us with the food. Didn't like the chicken with mashed potatoes because it was too mushy. Although the flan was the best flan I ever had. My partner and I also really liked the garlic shrimp plate. We could have ordered two of the garlic shrimp plates. The people inside dressed in gray did not have anything to do. They would stand inside and just get some cards and order them. They just stood there. The people dressed in gray should really help with the food service instead of standing inside doing nothing.
We were impressed by how great the outdoor heating was!!! We weren’t cold at all :)
And of course, we love the food!!! Amazing expwrownce.
