Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.
Flauta de chorizo
Chorizo ibrico de bellota
Traditional chicken fritters
The ultimate Spanish tapa: potato salad with imported conserved tuna, carrots, peas and mayonnaise
Made a last minute reservation for a solo lunch. The almuerzo rapido was a great deal - 4 courses with a sangria for $25.
Super nice service. Great care was given to the table.
It's not the same level of execution at this time as it had been in the past. Is the food good? Yes. It is a good tapas bar. Is it the same level of dining experience that it has been in the past? No. If you want Jose's type of "gastronomy" from his days at El Bulli, this isn't the place anymore.
Jaleo DC is one of my all time favorite restaurants. My party & I went to experience the Tomatina Festival menu & it did not disappoint. Each food offering was exquisitely delicious. The service was impeccable & the atmosphere relaxing.
Jaleo is always a great place to celebrate. Food is simply amazing and service to match. They have done an excellent job with their safety precautions with hand sanitizing stations throughout the restaurant and protective plastic screens in between each seating section. All the staff were wearing masks and gloves. So happy to have celebrated my birthday there again for the second year in a row!
Tasty food and drinks in a fun setting. And great value with the menu traditional. All plates were really good, from the salal to the pollo to the carne asada to the flan.
The margarita donostiarra is delicious, must have if you like spicy drinks and mezcal.
Excellent social distancing pratices! Indoor seating: tables are separated by a nicely decorated plexiglass, all staff wears masks and gloves, hand sanitizer dispenser across the venue, and they even do an extra cleaning before you seat. Digital menu and payment options
Excellent food, service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Amazing.. One of the best restaurants in Dc. If you really want to try fresh Spain food you need to go here.
Jaleo is always great - food is delicious, wine is very good, and the service is always fast and friendly, without being intrusive. Whether you eat inside (socially distanced with plexiglas, etc.) or outside as we did this time, it's a great experience!
Excellent job on safety
Very uninspiring experience. All dishes were pretty bland, overcooked or just made lazily. It used to be our favorite restaurant when visiting DC. Not coming back. Very sad.
Our waiter, Faustino was fantastic! So friendly and attentive! Every tapas dish was beautifully presented, and tasted delicious. Jaleo is doing a great job in taking safety measures during COVID. It's become our go-to place in DC. Great wine list too!
The $35/ five dish classico menu is perfect! And food is consistently delicious. This was my second time in one week.
A friend and I who are long time patrons of Jaleo had a delightful dinner outside. We had our regular favorites and a few other things. Everything was terrific and we both thought it was even better than usual (which is a very high bar).
Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Delicious food brought out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
Had a great time with my girlfriend there. Our bartender was amazing he actually helps us more than the waiter so we ensured tip him as though he was the waiter because he took our order and all. Great place overall.
The food was FANTASTIC. I loved each selection more than the last.
I always recommend Jaleo to friends visiting DC.
Excellent food, great service, decor could be a bit more intimate.
Loved getting the tapas! They kept on coming and were amazing. Great people too.
Terrific value! Try the Rapido set menu and enjoy the sangria and staff!
Great food and quick service! Absolutely no complaints and will definitely come back
Great food, great service, the staff is very attentive
Considering the covid circumstances the staff still gave top notch service! We highly recommend Jaleo DC!
The food and service are always amazing at Jaleo. I highly recommend the cava sangria, garlic shrimp, and chicken croquettes. They have added additional outdoor seating in response to COVID with the ability to request outdoor seating when making reservations. Love this place and the investment they have made in the community!
We went to Jaleo for the first time ever and it happened to be during Restaurant Week. It was amazing and the price including drinks was less than we typically spend at brunch. The flavors were fantastic, the presentation was gorgeous, and the service was perfect.
Consistently a great dining experience. I appreciated all of the measures that they took to make the dining experience safe during COVID. Service was attentive, food was delightful as always. And it was a beautiful day to dine al fresco.
Food was incredible. Gorgeous ambiance. We went during restaurant week and it was such a great deal. Drinks are on the expensive side. Unfortunately had to wait 45 minutes despite having a reservation and showing up on time but management offered us an appetizer on the house so I really appreciate that they acknowledged our crazy long wait.
A bit hard to hear with masks but that’s to be expected. Really impressed with the hanging glass barriers between tables.
Took my mother here for her birthday. Happened to be restaurant week. Food was excellent, and the service
even better. Second time coming, one of my favorite restaurants in the whole country. Will continue to recommend to anyone and everyone.
This place looks like a 80s bowling alley and the creepy mural in the bathroom is horrific. Also, I missed my reservation by 10 minutes and I ended up waiting over an hour to be seated, totally my fault but god damn, Just tell me to leave. Food was fine. Wine pairing was horrible. I would only find this a value if it was restaurant week.
We did the Taste of DC Restaurant Week special. All the selections were wonderful and the wine pairings were perfect. If pressed we'd pick the Salmon and crispy egg plant as our favorites and the Le Naturel wine was so good we bought a bottle to bring home.
The service was relaxed and well co-ordinated. The staff took great pains to conform to the current CDC guidelines. We love this place!
It was restaurant week so we got to eat everything from an appetizer to the dessert. Everything we tried was delicious. The service was attentive & courteous. The price for the meal budget friendly. My guest & I would eat at Jaleo every time we visit DC. It never disappoints.
Great service and great food. Wine pairings from the sommeliers were great.
Food was amazing and service was great. Our waiter gave us extra of a few items no charge so we could try more things on the menu.
It was great to be back dining at this old favorite! The food and service remains excellent and they had really thought out their coronavirus protocols so that you felt very safe.
My friends and I went over for dinner and had a blast. The food and drinks were amazing! Most importantly our server Faustino made it memorable. Faustino & the team were attentive and the service was impeccable! Thank you for an awesome evening! Until next time! Keep up the great work and thank you for what you do!
Very good but food came out a bit rushed perhaps because we had the last seating at 9pm
A meal at Jaleo is always delicious, creative and lively! Dining out in late Aug 2020, my partner and I were more than a bit nervous. This was our first restaurant meal in 6 months. Wanting to celebrate our anniversary, we knew Jaleo was the spot.
The staff was all helpful, gracious, attentive and followed every safety guideline. We never felt nervous, rushed or worried.
Every item we ate and drank was perfectly prepared and presented. The patatas bravas were heavenly lil’ pockets of yumminess.
I was thrilled to see a Gin and Tonic flight on the menu! Each one was a revelation.
We particularly enjoyed the items our waiter recommended- from the goat cheese to the chocolate cake with brioche ice cream. Wow!
It feels good to support Mr. Andres and to have such a lovely night at the same time.
Food was really good, but pricey considering everything is style. The atmosphere is awesome inside and out.
One of the best places I've tried in DC. This is legit tapas style dining.
Timing for courses delivered came a bit quick at the start. Drink service was a little slow. Otherwise great food and good service. Liked our waiter
