Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.
The menu and drink selections are all delicious and very diverse. This is our favorite restaurant in Penn Quarter. They are doing an outstanding job managing COVID. Love it!
Excellent service! Taking all precautions for COVID protection
Amazing food and excellent service as always!
That was our third time at Jaleo. We love this place, amazing food and great service. We'll repeat for sure!
A very eclectic offering of tapas in a colorful very modern decor. The tables were spaced far apart and separated by plexiglass sheets. A very good meal.
Great as always. All of his restaurants are amazing
Food and wine tasting were great
The staff was wonderful
We had a wonderful experience
One of our favorites in DC and had a delicious experience, as always.
Our waiter, Felix, was fantastic! Love the food and always appreciate José Andres and the work he is doing to feed the hungry!
Beautifully done authentic tapas service, with wide range of items: pork, seafood, chicken, vegan. Artisanal cheese plate from Spain outstanding. Gourmet seafood--shrimp, scallops, salmon exquisitely prepared. A treasure!
Sat outside because of Covid. Felt very safe. Don't even remember thinking about it, just focusing on the food and company.
Went for lunch. Great 4 course meal, delicious food.
Nice patio seating. Definitely will go back
Lo único bueno fue el servicio por que todo lo demás no fue de mi agrado
Absolutely spectacular evening. Dined outside -- easy to get reservations on a Tuesday. Easy to find parking! Jaleo consistently delivers great food and great fun.
Waiter was attentive without being a nuisance. Food was delicious and nice amounts per serving. Sad to see downtown so empty.
Jaleo is a good restaurant - the dishes are good, although this time, the spinach was a bit overcooked, but I didn't complain. I'm sure they would have done it over if I had. The service is always great - the servers are always so friendly and attentive! We sat outside so it was kind of loud but that wasn't Jaleo's fault. Apparently, there are some bikers riding up and down the street outside there and you have to shout to have a conversation at times - it's a bit odd and I'm not sure what's going on with that. Also, it did get chilly and the heaters weren't on but it could be me being cold sensitive.
Lunch was wonderful. I always make a point of dining at Jaleo when in DC. The restaurant staff works well and service is always flawless. The young lady that had our table was very sweet and took good care of us. I also love what Jose Andres has done in terms of helping people affected by disasters by feeding them. A meal is more than just food to people. It is memories and time spent with family and friends. A meal during time of strife gives people hope and for a few minutes a sense of normalcy.
Looking forward to my next meal at Jaleo.
Pretty good overall. Food was okay - the brussels sprouts were way too salty, and so was the bread with tomato. Service; however, was great!
Always love this place. I was impressed with how they are handling the distance between tables.
Safety precautions due to covid, were outstanding. I felt that every precaution was taken. Outstanding food, Service was amazing. Best dining experience I have had in years.
Had dinner here during CoVid19 era, sat outside. they had heaters and every table was socially distanced. mask required. will come back food and drink was awesome
This is my second time at this Jaleo location (the Crystal City one is lovely, too!). This time I brought my 10yo daughter for just a little girls' night out. The service was friendly, food always spectacular (you can't beat their patatas bravas), and we loved the extra accommodations they made to keep folks safe and clean.
Service was amazing. A person in out party has a dairy allergy and our waiter knew the entire menu and what they should not order. He was also super friendly.
Perfect ambiance, with great food. Our server was so respectful of protocols, but was always there!
Everything was stellar as always. I’ve been multiple times and never had anything that wasn’t delicious.
Nos faltó el pan y que las raciones fueran algo mayores.
We had Sunday Brunch on 10/11. There were only 4 items on the Sunday brunch menu - which I didn’t catch when I looked at the website. We were never told until our food was delivered that we could also order from the main menu - not just the Sunday brunch menu.
Part of the problem could have been we had some trouble getting service when we got there. I had to find someone to ask where our server was. A little unusual, since the restaurant had only a few seats filled.
The food was excellent - but a little disappointed in everything else Not a typical Garces experience. Maybe I just expect more from his restaurants.
Good social distancing for outdoor dining! Menu a bit shorter than usual but still very good!
Had a table outside on a beautiful evening. Service was excellent as was the food.
Pleasant outdoor patio & incredible service. Inconsistent food.
The food was good, nothing impressive but good. I tried some "bocadillos" that were good and a Paella Valenciana that was fine.
It was a really awesome experience. Will definitely come back :)
Olga was amazing!
Great service and good food. Great for outdoor seating as well.
Nice separation from guests. I actually forget to bring a mask and they actually gave me one during my visit. The Menu is now on your phone, so bring your phone.
The food was amazing but the service was slow. We had the tasting menu and the servers did not really explain what each course was.
The prix fixe lunch menu has terrific selections and is a great value. The creme brulee is to die for.
Weekday lunch was quiet but the staff was very attentive and helpful. The food was extremely tasty and the "pick 3 plus dessert" $20 lunch menu gave us both enough choices to have an interesting meal by sharing bites between us.
Absolutely incredible food, wine, and sangrias. The staff are very accommodating, and they're taking COVID precautions seriously. I can't wait for my next trip back!
Made a last minute reservation for a solo lunch. The almuerzo rapido was a great deal - 4 courses with a sangria for $25.
Super nice service. Great care was given to the table.
