Jalapeno Inferno - Park West
The service was horrible management was nonexistent but the food was alright
In comparison to the DC Ranch location this was a bit of a disappointment. We had a reservation and it was noted that it was for an anniversary but no one ever mentioned it at the hostess station or wait staff...we weren't even offered a dessert menu to order a dessert from for the couple we took to dinner.
The menu pages had not been cleaned very well and there was dried salsa on 2 of our menus. The wine glass was spotted as well.
The food was good overall and our waitress, although only on her 3rd day of work there, tried very hard to do a good job and was very friendly but overwhelmed as we only saw her a couple of times and had to wait for water a few times. Also, someone should have been assigned to clear the dishes between appetizers and meal as well as end of meal but since there wouldn't be dessert offered, I guess that didn't matter.
Not a "we'll be back" dinner for sure.
Food was good. Service seems like it's everyone's first day.
Amazing restaurant! Great salsa, both mild and hot! Waitress was very helpful on picking out new foods, and didn’t disappoint! We will be back many times over!
Had a pretty flawless meal. Service was great as was the food. Seated us right away and everything just felt right.
After being seated waited at least 10 minutes for service. Then once served continually were out of drinks and chips.
We were first timers and the name had us a bit intimidated. But, the four of us were very happy with our meals and will definitely return. Our waitress was very accommodating to all of our special requirements.
Portions are over priced for what you get. False advertisement, menu says 10 inch burrito and its only 5 inches long. Cooks don't pay attention to orders, management could care less to rectify an issue and still leaves it on your bill. This is the second time we have been to this location and both times have really sucked. There won't be a third time. Will make the 50 mile drive to North Scottsdale where we know we will be taken care of right and the food will be great. Stay away from Glendale location, atmosphere is more like a coffee shop also instead of a Mexican restaurant.
Great food and service. Amazing drinks! Will be back
First time at this new location. Been to their others. Very nice outdoor patio seating around the building on both sides and front. Vibrant chic decor inside. this may be a Mexican menu with a flare but different decor. It is nicely done, calming colors, open spaces and a very comfortable lay out. Bar area good size, nice booth seating and tables. All spaced right now. The menu is a good size of many selectins, something for everyone apps, guac, salads, enchiladas, fajitas, combos, customer favorites, specialties. It was not easy to decide. But in the process of looking over the menu a nice margarita and a beer went very well with their really great chips and salsa, 2 types of chips, the usual corn warmed and the soft light crisp which is so tasty can't get enough of those. And it all keeps coming. Went with the Chimichanga lightly fried that ate Nogales. Took the shredded beef. There was mounds of beef inside, very nicely cooked in a large tortilla rolled. Rice and beans on the side. Not an overwhelming amount of beans or rice, focus on the entre plenty of it, rice and beans very good. Also had the Signature Fundido with the chicken, nicely grilled small pieces with nice sautéed peppers and onions. Wrapped in a very light fried very large tortilla. had a nice crisp. Came with cheese on top and Jalapeno Cream Cheese. Our great server James suggested to get it on the side just in case the heat may effect. I had no problem with it, was so tasty and dipped every piece in it . Great to have them in this side of the valley in the new remodeled and up and coming Park West complex. We will be back. Make a reservation for the weekend diners. We went for an early dinner and no problem. Staff very welcoming, accommodating and friendly, give you time to enjoy. Plenty of parking all around the whole complex.
Outstanding food and service could not have been better. Will definitely be returning!
From the second we walked in, I was disappointed. Servers were grumpy, host was seem yelling at a customer, busser didn't bring chips and salsa as requested, "manager" was heard yelling under his mask "I wish someone would bus table 15", drinks were awful, they were supposed to bring us a new one and never showed up, lighting was horrible, lights flickered every time someone opened the door and the lighting was bright & white rather than low and warm. Everyone there just acted is if they hated their jobs and were miserable to be working. Then all the sudden at 9:40pm on a Friday NIGHT they stopped the music. Super awkward. When we asked what happened, they said they closed an hour ago???!!!! WHAT?? What new business in the midst of a pandemic would "close" while they had over 25 people actively eating and drinking? So odd. General Manager Dave, you must do better!!! Peoria deserves better than this! We shouldn't have to drive to North Scottsdale to get good service. The food was okay, but if you are looking for a warm & welcoming place this is not the spot.
I’m glad we decided to try this place. Our server was sweet and attentive. We chose outdoor dining on a cool night but the heater kept us comfortable. The food was delicious. I had the green chili pork enchiladas. They were tasty with just the right amount of spice. The street tacos were also very good. Will definitely go back.
As a New Mexico transplant my husband and I are always looking for restaurants that offer Hatch green Chile on their menus.
We ordered the tamale appetizer hoping we would have found a new favorite spot. We were very disappointed - the tamales were sweet, like a corn fritter and all of the food we ordered that pointed to Hatch green Chile had no flavor.
We had such a disappointing experience that we both agreed we won’t be back. Too bad!
Terrible service, terrible lighting, terrible food, terrible drinks, and terrible atmosphere. Everyone walks around like they don’t know what they’re doing and that they don’t know how to talk to people. Cheap food priced really high. Took us 40 mins to get our first round of drinks. I will say the manager was nice and check on us a few times and our waiter was nice at the end of the night but it felt like she was just fishing for a tip. Do yourself a favor and just go to an Applebee’s or Chili’s, skip this place.
AWESOME experience and AMAZING SERVICE. They made heater adjustments every 10 minutes for us Lol, accommodated my special dietary needs, had urgency, and both had terrific senses of humor - much needed in the world today!!!
I was in town for work from CA, with 2 local girlfriends- and they both said they would be returning 😊
The food was great ! I loved the inferno sauce and the Chile relleno was fire. I would recommend this place to a friend. The server I do not recall his name he was also the bartender. He was very kind to us. The manager spoke to us as well and was very welcoming. We will be back for more.
Great experience & great food. I felt really safe
Great food and ambiance! Love the cool vibe at Park West now with all the new restaurants.
I didn’t think we should have been sat where there was traffic coming in and out of the kitchen, when there was so many empty tables.
Everything was wonderful and right on point. Will definitely be visiting again, and hopefully often
Food was ok, salsa was really bland and chips were very thick. Ordered an appetizer the waitress forgot about it so we got it after the food. My husband ordered the giant burrito it was about the size of a Taco Bell burrito. I ordered enchiladas and the rice on the side was very small only three bites and it was gone. Drinks were ok but why have a margarita in the rocks with no salt on the rim? The special margarita of the month was better. I like sitting outside and it was clean. Pretty pricey for food that was just ok. I honestly will not return there are so many other Mexican food places that are better.
First time at the new location and we will definitely be back!
The staff was awesome! We received a tamale because it was our first visit. That tamale was the best I've ever had! Everyone kept coming by the table to commenting...oh that is my favorite dish...do you like it? It was a lot of fun and very inviting. Whoever is running the place is doing it absolutely right! the food was amazing, the quacamole and fundido was super!
Seated in patio. Waited 20 minutes for. server to come get our drink order. I had to go inside to hunt for a server. The server I asked for help said “Yes I’ll get you someone.” The restaurant was not busy and we were the only patrons in the patio.
After that our server was fine but it was a strange first impression.
The food was good, but the service kind of ruined our night! Our server wasn’t knowledgeable about anything. He was also very forgetful. Not to mention the manager just stood at the bar talking to a young Lady our whole stay.
Thisbis one of my wife's favorite restaurants. However, we live in Surprise, AZ and before the Park West location opened the nearest location was Scottsdale. That means we weren't able to go very often. So, we tried the new one (Park West).
Just as good as Scottsdale but closer to home.
Excellent service and food and social distancing was excellent!
The atmosphere was awesome but the food quality is poor. This is not Mexican cuisine... hardly even Tex-Mex... not sure what this was. Won’t be back.
Excellent service! We were greeted and immediately after sitting, water, chips and salsa was brought over. The drinks were strong and delicious. The food taste was amazing! Customer service was great!
Food portions and flavor were no where near expectation. Have gone to the Pinnacle Peak location for years and have always been satisfied. Half price appetizers was half the size, full size burrito and chimichanga was like a frozen burrito. Called and spoke with manager next morning and he apologized but offered no compensation to make it right. Seems like a typical west side flop.
They have Great food, and delicious strong drinks.
This is a local chain. The food was ok The service was good. I ordered a specialty margarita - a smoky pineapple margarita. I typically hate sweet drinks but this drink was so smoky and bitter - there wasn't enough pineapple flavoring. It was; however, strong, so i did finish it. LOL The chips were odd as they serve 1/2 corn and 1/2 fried flour tortillas as chips. The flour chips do NOT work. The fire roasted salsa was ok and the chicken tortilla soup was not.
First visit and was not disappointed. The food was outstanding to go along with a comfortable, laid-back atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Be sure to try the award-winning tamale . . . perhaps as a shared appetizer! Good stuff.
We had a great experience. Creative drinks. Friendly waitress and Sevice. Great food. Everyone liked their food. The BOH burrito while healthy was very good. We forgot our leftovers and they remade the meals for us. I would of given this rating before that but that was really above and beyond by the manger.
We had reservations and was seated immediately. Server was very helpful since it was our first time share some of their popular items. Food came out quickly and was very good. Will be back soon.
Ambiance and service was great! Food was very flavorful (some really spicy hot!) could have been just a bit heat wise hotter but overall very tasty! Drinks were awesome! Will definitely go back to try some more of their delish menu!!
We've been going to Jalapeno Inferno on Scottsdale Rd. for years. It's our favorite Mexican Restaurant. We live on the west side and they just opened another location at Park West at 101/Northern. We were extremely pleased that it was the same great food and service. The new restaurant has a totally new, modern and inviting ambiance. Lots of great outdoor seating which is perfect now for AZ fall weather and certainly COVID social distancing. Definitely will be back!
The food was great, setting was great, service was great. Only thing was the football game was being played outside at another restaurant so that made it noisier than it normally would have been.
I loved the decor and atmosphere. They have a welcoming open air concept and a huge comfortable bar with lots of space for social distance dining. The service was awesome. I really loved that the manager (or owner) came over to ensure that we were enjoying everything. The drinks were amazing, I enjoyed the margarita of the month which was a blueberry vanilla margarita and I had their signature jalapeño Inferno margarita. The sampler Platter was very tasty! I especially loved their chips and salsa and guacamole mainly because they offered flour and corn tortilla chips which is something I haven’t seen from a restaurant in a while. I ate their tequila lime shrimp taco and green hatch enchilada. Both were simply delicious. This is definitely a restaurant I will be frequenting.
