Dungeness Crab, Bay Shrimp, Oysters & Crayfish
Food was exceptional. I ordered the swordfish; my wife the black cod. With a bottle of Riesling, the bill came to just over $100. Also complementary dessert for a birthday celebration made it that much more special. Good seats near a side window. Very satisfying.
great filet, wine selection. Amazing dinner!!!!
You expect a steak house to deliver a delishious steak, and Jake's Grille did not disappoint. But the sides were outstanding, particularly the garlic mash potatoes and green beens. The horseradish sauce and au jus were also excellent (we both had prime rib). Finally, our service was outstanding!
Wonderful place, great food great service
Excellent service, kind and patient wait staff. Food was excellent.
We were seated quickly, and the food was prepared quickly. We enjoyed the battered cod and shrimp scampi.
Party of three. I spilled a glass of icewater but the server cleared and reset the table in short order. We all ordered filet's and loved them. The mashed potatoes were so good, too. Almost as good as the steak! Our server was perfect.
Great food and service.
Quiet and traditional. Good brunch great adult beverages and stellar service.
It can be easy to forget Jake's Grill is a sister restaurant to the McCormick & Schmick’s on the waterfront, but if you like the later, you should give Jake's a try. The atmosphere and menu are fairly different, but the staff are equally fantastic, the food is of a consistently high quality, and you could spend hours going through the wine list - it is that extensive. Unfortunately, very few wines are available by the glass, so bring company with you to finish a bottle.
If you've been here before, but never on the weekend, you're missing out on a small, but excellent brunch menu, and their iconic Sunday Prime Rib. Like McCormick's, Jake's is owned by Landry's, so don't forget your Select Club card if you are a member.
Overall good experience, however my halibut was not seasoned well and the lobster risotto was unimpressive. The restaurant is in a nice older building with Art Deco features and the service was excellent.
I definitely recommend Jake's Grill. Their menu has a nice variety and I've always had great service there.
The food and service were excellent. I will definitely return
The food was awesome and the service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Times are tough, hard to find employees, profit margins are small. Beef prices are rising, while over fishing and climate change are dwindling sea food supplies. No restaurant is immune.
The food was amazing and the service was great!
Our group greatly appreciated the calm and welcoming ambiance of both the environment and staff. Thank you for the hospitality!
Great service, beautiful clubby ambience. Food was delicious.
Steak is great! Service outstanding! Not busy on Monday evening.
One of the landmark restaurants in Portland.
Still standing and hopefully for a long time.
Loved to see it busy on a Monday night.
The food was excellent, atmosphere very noisy, service pretty slow! Probably won’t come back
Ribeye steak had an incredible crust, really can't recommend it more!
Two in our party enjoyed the oysters and i had a wonderful jumbo shrimp cocktail for a first course. My date and I both had the scampi for our entrees an enjoyed them and our guest had a steak, whick she enjoyed very much.
Our evening was marred by a man abruttly interrupting our conversation and telling us that we had to leave immeditately so that the cleaning team could begin working right away. We were shocked that our lovely evening was ended so rudely. The head waiter or someone could have approached our table and politely explainted the situation to us and the need to wrap up our evening. Our high regard for Jakes was lowered dramatially that evening.
The server was especially nice, and cheerful. The Ribeye was cooked perfectly.
Took our daughter to dinner before we left her in Portland for college. Easy to make reservations on Open table and got seated right away. Food was good, great service and price was reasonable. Would definitely go back the next time we’re in town.
We were sat at a lovely table right near the window and were greeted by our server promptly. We shared a Cesar before our entrees and some delicious bread they brought over. We each had steak (top sirloin and filet mignon) and both were impeccable with great potatoes and veggies. We finished with a creme brûlée for a little sweetness. We enjoyed our meal with a lovely pinot noir from the Willamette Valley region of OR. Would love to come back next time we're in Portland!
Met friends in Portland for dinner, who indicated that Jake's Grill was a landmark and a must visit; I couldn't agree with them more! A throwback beautiful restaurant with spot on service and food that matched. A strong wine list, a full bar and just a great feel from the first moment to the last. Steak and seafood was delicious and the Dungeness Crab dip was to die for. . .
The restaurant had wonderful ambiance, excellent food (the crab lobster artichoke dip was fantastic) and an exceptional staff.
Oysters were fantastic. Everything was good except Caesar salad.
Food and service were superb!
Service was excellent. Easy to make a reservation. We didn’t have to wait too long.
Beautiful place, great service and amazing food. It was our anniversary and everyone on the staff knew and wished us a happy one. Great place!
They also make a great Buffalo Trace Old Fashion - * 5 stars
The clam chowder was amazing and I wished I had gotten a bowl and not just a cup. We enjoyed all the food and the Creme Brûlée finished it off perfectly.
Waited at the door (the first customers of the day) for a bit. Service was a tad awkward. Caesar salad dressing was bland + unimpressive and the salmon on top was over cooked. Overall not impressed with the lunch menu and won't return for lunch in the near future.
The service is great and tentative. Blue plate is of great value.
Good overall experience even during a kinda sad time. Beef Stroganoff was amazing.
We were seated in a timely manner, but it definitely helped that we had reservations. Would recommend setting up reservations before going here. The food and drinks were so delicious. I got a steak and it was so tender I did not even need a steak knife to cut it. Also, the cocktail I ordered was so good I had to have two!
We had a lovely dinner at Jake's. My date enjoyed the oysters and I liked my crab cocktail. We both had the halibut entree, which was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were great! A really enjoyable evening - thanks to our waitperson Anna. We can always count on Jakes for a great, quality meal.
