Great food. Wonderful service. Took great care of us.
Jackers is the place to go of you want quality and relaxed meals. Exelente customer service.
Again, they had no reservation for us. This is the THIRD time this has happened with this restaurant. I will no longer use Open Table to make reservations here.
Waitress was on point very friendly
We were seated ten steps from a bathroom door. Yuck. They accommodated when we asked to be moved, but seemed a bit annoyed. Once moved to the patio, the ambiance was great. We enjoyed our meals. The brisket was tender and flavorful but on the cool side. Meatloaf was fantastic. Mud pie was fantastic. Should there even be a table that close to the bathroom?
Everything was great except they had no reservation for me. This is the second time this has happened with open table.
We go to Jakers from time to time and have always had good service. We went on Fat Tuesday to enjoy an early dinner. We were seated promptly but then had to wait at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged and brought water. We ordered drinks but clearly this server's heart was NOT in it that night. Never asked if we were part of the Jaker's E club
( we are)....took away my salad plate even though I had clearly not used it yet. I pointed this out to her and she gave a little laugh and said it’s like autopilot for her to clear dishes if she sees them. She never came back to ask if we wanted anything else so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. This is not the service we have had or expect from this restaurant....sad.
Service was Great! Food was Fantastic! Definitely the place to go on your birthday!
Overall food was good - our server was a little lacking.
Typically have always had great food & service from Jakers however this time was an exception. Cocktails, salads, scones were great as usual the only exception was my Lemon Garlic Shrimp was missing the zucchini and mushrooms. It did have plenty of shrimp and penne pasta though. My first sub par experience there so definitely will give them another chance.
We took our friends to celebrate a very special birthday. Reservation was made at least 2 weeks in advance. We arrive and are handed a buzzer to wait. We are then seated and do not see our server for at least 10 min. It was incredibly busy in the bar area, I imagine due to Happy Hour specials. Took forever to place a drink order, even longer to receive the drinks. Appetizer was a no show, then when it was discovered to be lost the shrimp were like rubber. Asked for additional scones/bread, never came. $200 tab and couldnt be more disappointed.
We’ve always had a very good experience at Jakers. This particular time was, unfortunately, just ok. We felt overcharged for our meal, our very expensive steak was ordered medium, and when it was delivered, it was raw. Sent it back, and then when we finally got it delivered again, it was on the verge of being well done. We were so hungry and we had already been there for over an hour, we just ate it. Usually, we are in and out in an hour, but an hour and a half later, we were finally asking if we could pay our bill. The food was unusually sub-par that night, and we felt a little ripped off. There were some other things that night that made our dining experience less than pleasant. Like I said, usually, we love dining at Jakers. But this particular visit made us second guess going back again.
This was the second visit to Jakers and again everything about my experience was spectacular. The steak cooked to perfection. My wife, brother and I had a wonderful evening. This has to be the best steak houses in the Boise area, if not all of Idaho.
Our meals at Jakers are always exceptional, and the service is top notch. Prime rib Sunday is a favorite, with the gluten free vegetable soup the best we've ever had, and don't forget the honey scones! Jakers is one of the areas very best restaurants.
Good server with good knowledge of the menu. Very attentive. The food was pretty good as well.
Great food and good service but a few things need attention. First, when the customer is done eating it's just as important to clear the table as it is to bring great food to the table. One thing most wait people neglect is not finishing the job and it's the difference between good and excellent service. Secondly, when I went to use the restroom there were no paper towels to dry my hands with and had to go back to the table to dry my hands with my napkin. Wondering what the employees do? Wipe their hands on their dirty cloths or what. Both of these sound critical but if fixed would make a difference and I will be back as the food is delicious.
As always we had a very nice meal. Steaks were cooked perfectly and lobster bisque was amazing. The restaurant is fairly loud which generally isn’t a problem unless someone in your party has hearing issues. All entrees were really tasty! Highly recommend this restaurant
Great food! And the portions were big enough.
We had a reservation for 6 people at 615pm. We arrived about 610 and i gave them my confirmation code and they said they didn't have a reservation at all. They said we could be seated in 45 min. We complained and they offered to seat us right away then they offered my aunt one of the 6 people a free drink. She declined and said its her sisters bday how about a drink for her? No drink was ever offered or given. My moms medium steak was very very rare and my medium burger was burnt with black burnt char covering the entire patty. They made my mom a new one to go. My boyfriend ordered seafood fetichini alfredo and they were out of fetichini pasta. It took about 40 min to get our drinks and about an hour and 15 min to get our food. We had multiple waiters come over who thought they were waiting on us. It was just a very disappointing disorganized and the food was just ok.
We visit Jakers once a week. They have become our favorite dining experience. They never disappoint.
Our server was great, gave us plenty time to visit and available when we needed it
Seated at reservation time. Cocktails were at half price.
Made reservations although I obviously didn't need to due to day and time it wasn't busy. Made reservations for seven and they literally added a chair to the end of a very small table. There were open larger tables that wouldn't have had our group juggling our plates around.
Out of seven people one person actually enjoyed their food. Most of the steaks tasted like they straight cooked them on charcoal. not one person's steak was cooked to the requested temperature.
The server was the only good part of the meal, she was very attentive and understanding of our slowness to order.
Appetizers were also pretty good. Recommend the cream cheese and shrimp wontons.
Service was very slow and inconsistent. 10 minutes for drinks to appear. No offers for refills. Dinner showed up while we still had our salad plates and soup bowls in front of us so we had to shuffle things around to make it fit. The petite fillet looked like a round steak it was so thin; I actually think they served the wrong item. The salmon was overcooked. The dinner took over 2 hours - and it shouldn't have based on our orders.
I made reservations, evidence from Jakers acknowledging my res. By email. My parents anniversary and we're told there isn't a reservation. The hostess got us at a table, plenty at 4 on Sunday. But no waiters. Got seated started off well. But then we hardly see the waiter. For refills. We had to ask someone else to help us. Then we waited and waited for the bill, then waited to pay. The food was average. Soggy tempra shrimp. The. Prime rib was o min at. It didn't look like anything we saw on line. Salad bar ok hard ti get around others with the dressing in the middle. Great soup bar. We got and side order of onion rings, looked great online, normal-average at best. The price and charging so much for the extra. Very disappointed. I dont mind paying for top notch when it is. But pictures online are misleading, for fancy.
We had a casual birthday celebration and my husband wanted a good steak. Jakers in Meridian was recommended by a couple people as a good alternative to going into downtown Boise. Location is good; easy to find and plenty of parking. Decor is casual and comfortable and the noise level is medium so you can have a conversation without having to strain or yell.
The menu is good, with lots of choices. Portions were decent but not overboard. My husband went with the signature Jakers steak; he says it tasted good. My son had a rib-eye and said it was excellent. My daughter-in-law had a mega salad which she said was great. I ordered fish and chips which, unfortunately had a hair fried into the batter on one of the pieces (it tasted good until I hit the hair).
The waiter apologized and comp'd the fish and chips; other than that, we had a very comfortable meal. We'll go there again and would recommend you give it a try. I probably won't order the fish and chips again ... silly me ordering seafood in landlocked Boise!
Bad evening due to order error...Love Jakers...writing off this evening to holiday season and parties taking place...
Jaker's has become our favorite spot for meals -- their prime rib is excellent and the service is always friendly!
Every bite so delicious
Our waiter so on the ball
Wished my husband Happy Birthday and both of us Happy Anniversary. We had a wonderful evening
Service was rushed or non existent. Drink order in excess of ten minutes. Water or drink refill was nonexistent. Food order took a very long time and when asking for help to wipe up a mess my father made was like pulling teeth . I will not return and pay for a meal there again .
We ate at Jakers 3 times last week. Two dinners 1 lunch. The staff is amazing and they make the experience really fun. The menu is varied and everything is good. The salad bar is the best in Boise/Meridian. If it was a little quieter it would be perfect.
We were put in the back of the restaurant next to the bathrooms and it was awful. I help a table with open table so we could have a nice seat. Nothing says ambiance like seeing the inside of the Womens restroom.
We each ordered a fillet they were over cooked and for the price of our meal we could have gone to chandlers. The bill was over 100.00 with a decent tip. All the meal had was a tiny potato, side salad and a fillet. I was very disappointed with them this time. I do not know that I will be back.
Biggest reason for not saying service was 5 star is was never asked if they could refill my ice tea. Outstanding otherwise
Thanksgiving buffet was excellent!
Great food and service. Happy, friendly and very helpful wait staff.
Took my 91yr old father out for Thanksgiving
We always enjoy eating dinner or having drinks at Jakers; they also have a great seniors.
Staff was very pleasant, responsive and skilled. Noise level was good so we could all hear each other! Food was delicious and very awesome portion sizes!
Even though we made reservations a week in advance we were seated 20 mins after our requested time. The server indicated no prime rib was available and the table next to us were served prime rib. Our scones were not cooked even after having to ask for them 3 times. One of the meals was not cooked to order. It was by far, the worst experience we've had at Jaker's.
We went to Jaker's to celebrate a birthday. The steak, prime rib(very tender and delicious) and halibut were all cooked to perfection. Special requests for food preparation were graciously honored. Happy hour at Jaker's has some great deals and generous wine pours. Our server Justin was awesome!
We have enjoyed Jaker's for years. The crab stuffed avocado and deep fried zucchini are my favorites. Always excellent food and service as well as wonderful atmosphere.
