Jack's Bar & Steakhouse
food was not impressive in flavor, very bland. Steaks alacart, pay extra for any side are rediculousy overprice $8-10 extra, no salad, I realize they are prime, but they should be enbaraced at what they put in front of you. They did give us 2 pieces of stale bread
Drinks were at the norm for price.
Wines bottles started at the least expensive, $70, after that $100 and up.
We were attending the Shuburt theater that night, and had an offer for $25% off your check when you have tickets. This was a generous offer and brought our check to a more resonable price.
Was really hoping to like this place. We were looking for someplace new and good. Price would not keep us away if we like it, but the food was not up to par. I really expected more.
Service levels were very good
Wonderful dinner out! The server was attentive and the food delicious!
I ordered a bone in filet mignon. I ordered it medium and it came out rare. I sent it back and it came back slightly less rare-but rare. My wife ordered a NY strip. She ordered it medium rare and it came out medium -well. Diego our waiter was excellent, and tried to make things right. We didn't push, we just finished our meals and had dessert(which they comp $10). Overall it was a disappointment.
Went on a Saturday night - early. Still a little louder than I like, but everything else made up for that! Outstanding!
Well done. Thought we'd give this place a shot before a show. Shrimp cocktail, surf & turf, chicken milanese... all really good. Nice vibe, cool ceiling (I recommend getting a table in the back) and pleasant staff. I guess my only knock, and it's a small one because I'm a beer guy, was that the beer selection was so-so and a little predictable. My wife loved the wine choices and we even had an after dinner drink which we never do as we liked hanging out there so much. They even validated our parking because we were in the garage across the street!
Very kind wait staff... warm and professional.
Lollipop lambchop app cooked perfect. Would get it again.
12 oz filet was like butter or sushi grade soft would get that again. Very nice béarnaise sauce.
They make very cocktails as well.
Comparable to a ny steakhouse experience but not crazy packed. Relaxing atmosphere.
We were attending a show at the Shubert decided to go early for dinner. The food was amazing! We both had the app on the specials menu Peking duck leg confit unbelievably tasty. The rest of the meal was great but oh the confit.......The wait staff were very polite. I loved that we were not rushed and able to savor the meal. That said if you are in a hurry, you should probably plan to go elsewhere.
This restaurant is pricey, the portions are adequate, not huge, but the food is cooked to perfection, very favorful with good presentation. The service was ezcellent and the atmosphere superb.
Had a great experience. Enjoyed celebrating my dads birthday, as well as, the staff bring out a slice of cake with a candle.
The food and service were fantastic. We are definitely going back.
We all ordered our steak well done and when it came it was very salty and rare . The staff was very nice, but they never came back to see how our food was , so we didn't get the chance to tell them or have them take it back to the kitchen. Very disappointed.
I enjoyed it. I will definitely be back. The food was delicious, a little pricey, but worth it. I absolutely want to try a happy hour.
Answered “yes” but with reservations. Service was good. Ordered filet medium rare and it was overcooked. Ordered steak tips and not asked how cooked. They were well done and very dry. Pear arugula salad was delicious and Brussels sprouts were wonderful. We were going to the theatre so didn’t have time to send the filet back
The food was excellent, a bit pricey for the portions but definitely worth it.
Food and atmosphere was great, service was mediocre. I would definitely return.
The food and service was great. They were crowded but we got our food in a reasonable time.
Extremely busy restaurant on the weekend however we got in within five minutes with our reservation everything was delicious from the appetizer to the desert highly recommend the lava cake with caramel with vanilla ice cream on the side absolutely amazing
Awesome night, great Ambiance, crowd a little younger than I would like. Overall had a great night there. Owner very attentive and personable. Will definitely go back
Great Environment Very Professional Service and laid back vibe. Food was excellent great seasoning cooked perfect. Can’t wait to come back
We went on a Sunday night, so it wasn’t very busy. However, we had excellent service and excellent food! I’ve been before and will definitely be back!
The sirloin tips were awesome, but O have to say the crab cakes tasted like they were from a box from Mrs Paul’s. Very disappointing.
Service was excellent!
We had a reservation but others who had a reservation for the same time and number of people as our party but checked in after us were seated before we were. They were seated in the dining room; we were seated in the bar. Not fair!
The food was excellent.
This place is a mid level sports bar masquerading as a high end steakhouse.
- The service is slowwwwwww..... and not particularly attentive. If the lamb pops are three to an order say so when its a table of six. Tell people about the list of sauces. The poor bus woman literally came by to refill water ten times before the starters showed up!
- Table next to us said they had been waiting two hours for their food.
- Steaks range from $40 at the low end to $100 at the high end. These are not Luger, Wolfang's, or even Ruth's Chris caliber meat.
- Sides are meh, average to fine.
- Party of 6, with only two alcohol drinks and unlimited tap water was $525 so the value is bad.
- Added in a 20% gratuity but makes no reference to it on the menu, and has the nerve to have a line for 'additional gratuity' on the menu.
- Had virulent diaharrea and had to pull over on the way home to use the bathroom off the highway.
Went to Jack's with my mom and son. Always a great meal, and this time did not disappoint either. We all had the filet, which was extraordinary. I feel like they used to have a different bread (in a skillet, nice and hot) but I may have mis remembered that. At any rate, it was great, and I definitely will return.
Food and service are great. Probably better for 20 yr olds as it seems like a true sports bar.
Food was average, I got ONE shrimp as an add on. My steak was burnt and considering the price and that it was a steakhouse i expected the presentation to be much better. Also my wife got a salad and her plate was sticky and hadn’t been thoroughly washed as was my wine glass which I sent back. The waiter was good and the service was good but I wouldn’t go here again and I still can’t believe they would only give you one shrimp as a side without specifying that it was one shrimp
Everything great! The service (Diego) fabulous! The food was the best we’ve had in a while. I would def tell others about it. Thanks
We had a 7:45 reservation for dinner. We were placed in the bar at a high top table and were never told that they were going to try to rush us to flip our table for the change from restaurant to night club. At 9:30 the wait staff was moving tables, looking at us constantly to see if we were finished with our meal. Although very polite, at 9:30 we were just considering a after dinner drink with desert and didn't wish to be rushed especially after spending $$ for the meal. The steak is well prepared and is worth the price offered. The business needs to identify itself as either a steakhouse looking for the older customer that can afford the price of the menu or for the younger crowd that wishes to be entertained with drinks and a DJ.
Steak was excellent. Our table tried 3 different cuts at different temperatures and everything was perfect! Very nice job.
The food was excellent. The steak was some of the best we have had. Nice to have a steakhouse in the area. Sides were all delicious and chocolate lava cake was delicious! Staff was very friendly and attentive.
After having had a great dinner a while back we decided to try their brunch.
The Crispy Pork Belly was awesome as was the Lobster Benedict.
We decided to get the bottomless cocktails and that made it a bargain.
Our waiter and busing staff were all very attentive and on the ball.
Will return again soon!!
Had a date night steak dinner here Saturday night. We were seated in the bar room and our waiter, Diego, was outstanding. We each got a glass of wine that were nice pours and tasty. We split a wedge salad which was the perfect size and well dressed, and the charcuterie plate, which was a bit expensive for what it was, but delicious just the same. Steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great. We got tots off the small plates menu since sides looked a bit boring otherwise... a good choice. Bar area got very loud while we were there. Would go back again for a good meal.
This restaurant is usually best all around. That is exceptional service, decor and Food quality, but this weekend the service was unexceptional and didn’t equal the quality of the food. Our server was very slow and not attentive. I am just hoping that it just was an off night.
Came in for brunch. Party of 4. First time. Our server was “ok” but had no sense of urgency. Our starters took about 20 mins to come out, and they were all gross with the exception of the lamb lollipops which were subpar. Our entree’s took another 45 minutes after that, All of those horrible as well with the exception of the Kobe beef burger which was bearable at most and the child’s French toast, bacon and scrambled eggs which were actually pretty good. The French fries were hard as ROCKS! The crab cake is AWFUL, nothing but filler and over seasoned, accompanied by the worst hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. Mind you the restaurant was nowhere near full so no excuse for such a long wait and horrible food . There were probably about a total of maybe 13 people in the entire place. Unacceptable. I will never return. I take being a food critic very seriously. I just wish Jacks did the same with their food.
We found Jack's on Open Table what a gem I am not from the area so I was so Pleased
The staff was so nice Great value Food was good They did not rush us out of the restaurant It turned into a College Bar After 10 It was great I recommend it
We ordered the Tomahawk Steak medium it was cooked to perfection( the burnt ends were eyes roll into the back of your head incredible) With 2 sides it was the perfect amount for 3 people. The Calamari side was light, fresh and perfectly crispy while the Slab of bacon appetizer was a beautiful mix of fattiness, saltiness and burnt in just the right spots. I truly enjoyed dinner there and while it's not an everyday place because of price it is the perfect place to treat yourself every now and again. Well done
Diego, our server was the kindest, best service we have encountered since our recent move from the DMV.
The food was excellent & will definitely be back.
Wonderful meal! Hubby said it was the best steak he ever had. My beef short ribs with risotto was also amazing. Service was great, didn't feel rushed at all. Went on NYE and had a great night out.
