Jacky Ray’s was suggested in response to my question of where to go for a “really nice” dinner. The recommendation did not disappoint!! The Braised Kamb Shank was phenomenal & my Mochiko Crusted Kanipachi was excellent as well. My companion’s comment is that our dinner was “fantastic!!” And I agree totally.

The restaurant sits a long block away from the water, but it is on a hill so you still get a sunset view. There is no glass on the windows, so feeling is very airy and light. The food was delicious and the service was great. This is the first time we had been here, and we would definitely go back. The one negative was that the mai tai was very non-traditional. The waiter, to his credit, warned us of this and explained the drink before we ordered. Just be aware, if you are going for a traditional mai-tai, this is not it. Other than that, the meal and ambieance were very enjoyable.

The food was delicious and excellently presented. Our Server, Kayla, was amazing and created a wonderful experience and because of her, we’ll be back.

This place did not disappoint. Coconut shrimp, goat cheese dip, and pork spring rolls appetizer were amazing. The filet was cooked to perfection and the potatoes au gratin were delicious. The mud pie was amazing for dessert. Service exceptional.

Our family had a wonderful time. We always make a point of going to this restaurant whenever we visit. The food is always delicious and service is great. We think this is one of the best restaurants on the Big Island.
