The food has always been fantastic! This is our 4th time there and like it. However, the restaurant has always been extremely cold inside. We have commented to the managers, but it falls on deaf ears. Even our server said she is always cold and has told her manger but he told her the temperature was fine?? We dined there last night and if you looked around more than 2/3 of the patrons had jackets on. The cold takes away from a great dining experience. If you go there bring a parka :)

The restaurant is a bit difficult to find as it is tucked into the side of the Dream Inn. Parking is on the street where you feed a meter or at the Hotel via valet. It can be a bit of a walk for elderly people. There are stairs to navigate. Dress is casual business attire in the evening. Morning and afternoons are more relaxed. The noise level is a bit loud in the evening. There are a lot of hard surfaces and large glass windows to capture the beautiful view. The restaurant sit directly on the beach. It looks onto famous Cowles Beach and the Santa Cruz pier. It’s a beautiful view.. Make sure to ask for a window when you make your reservation with OpenTable. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar area and later moved to a window seat for dinner. We were seated on time. The servers were attentive and professional. They were able to help with small changes for dietary restrictions and recommended some great entrées. The quality of the food itself was excellent. It had a great depth of flavor and reflected attention to detail. The portions were large and we took some home to nibble on the next day. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our meal. There’s nothing like watching a full moon rise over a dark beach and glistening ocean.

Fabulous evening. We were catching up with family over a delicious meal. Summer was an excellent server for our table; a joy to have helping us!

Started off a couple of great cocktails at the bar, meal began with Caesar Salad, fresh oysters , entree was the rib eye perfectly cooked to perfection then crème brûlée for dessert and coffee to finish off the great meal this was a shared meal which was enough to satisfy both. The waiter was knowledgeable of the menu and recommended the specials of the night and also, his favorites. Jack O’Neill is always a favorite ending to a visit to Santa Cruz….Cheers!!!

As locals, we don’t often get to the touristy spots. Decided to try again after many years. Food was excellent! Much better than a few years ago. They have embraced the farm to table ideology, which I prefer. The flatbread is a must! Knife and fork appetizer and flavor is phenomenal! Heirloom tomatoes were Cherokee purple (my favorite). The halibut was amazing! Pasta, again, phenomenal. Try the ice cream trio, if you have room! The miso, peanut was amazing! am very picky about eating out. The dishes had such a clean ingredient deck! Felt as if all the sauces were made in-house, not from a restaurant supply. Not pretentious, very comfortable. Though it was a very foggy night (I love the fog) not a bad seat in the house! Looking forward to returning very soon!

Great place to view iconic SC wharf and Boardwalk. Menu is varied and modern. Service was friendly but had to ask for water refills and was never offered refills on soft drinks. At $6, one should expect automatic refills when glass is 80% empty, or at least ask. Prices were otherwise in line with what is expected at seaside resort establishments. Clearing of dishes was slow. First course empty dishes were left throughout main course dining making the table crowded and slightly unpleasant. Great historical photos of the namesake on the walls and modern decor.

Just a great experience. Amazing drinks. Lovely live music and the food was well presented and delicious. View for someone from Kansas was unbeatable!
