   Rib-eye was top notch as were all the sides. I usually get the crab cakes which are always delicious but wanted to try out the steak. The service wasn’t as great as usual but it was Mother’s Day so it’s understandable. We’ve never had a negative experience. Great work guys!

   We had a very lovely meal at J. Gilbert’s! We went on Mother’s Day. They did have a special menu for Mother’s Day, but we didn’t get that. The Blue Cheese potato chips were amazing and the portion was huge! We also got oysters Rockefeller and it was wonderfully presented and delicious!!! Our steaks were done to perfection! Wonderful seasoning! I also highly recommend the lamb rack. Delicious! On top of it all we had an amazing waiter. He was funny, helpful and attentive. Our experience was excellent and we can’t wait to return!

   They made the great decision of opening early to accommodate Mother’s Day diners. Service was fantastic, Justin was attentive, made great suggestions (and jokes!) and even took family photos for us after our meal. This meant a lot as we traveled 600 miles just to see my mom and have this dinner. The meal itself was fantastic- the steaks were on point -cooked to temp and well seasoned, the fish and seafood mixed grill was great as well. To be on your ‘a-game’ during a holiday service says everything about this restaurant- and we’ll be back on future visits.

   It was an off day for J Gilberts. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation time. The restaurant was less than half full and had three servers in the bar area with no apparent tables. We waited 10 minutes before being seated. It was 10 minutes before our server arrived. Our salad was good and timely. Our server came back after 30 minutes and said he was going to check on our meal. He returned to say it was going to arrive in three minutes. I ordered the steak medium rare and it arrived well done and at room temperature. We had one of the other servers summon our server. He quickly made an accommodation and said the replacement would be there in 8 minutes. The replacement was great! We’ve typically saved J Gilberts for special occasions, but this time was an anomaly.

   This was our first visit. We were celebrating birthdays. The wait staff was cheerful and attentive. We started with drinks, one cucumber lemonade and one raspberry martini 👍👍 Our meal started with the pretzel coated onion rings. I love onion rings and these were wonderful and they came with three different delicious dipping sauces. I had the salmon with asparagus and a side of the au gratin cauliflower. The au gratin cauliflower may have been too salty but I'm used to low or no salt so that may have made the difference. I finished them anyway 😁. My date had the 14oz bone in sirloin which was cooked to order. He thought it was average for the price. He enjoyed the asparagus and air gratin potatoes very much. And for dessert we shared the apple dessert with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream, yum! Parking was a little stressful as there was an event at The Steelhouse and we were unfamiliar with the parking garages but once we found one it was an easy walk. Definitely recommend J.Gilberts-Wood Fired Steaks & Seafood.

   Came here for happy hour but they just changed their menu for the worse. They sadly removed good staples. We got the burger sliders, they were fine, and prime rib egg rolls (not great-it's resting in some sauce that just makes the egg rolls soggy). I ordered 1 of their cocktails (Viva la Mango) and it wasn't even filled half-way, we both wondered if they screwed it up. Apparently not b/c we asked. So this particular experience wasn't great, however, we've had many great experiences here. Lamb chops and pork chops are fantastic!

   We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was exceptional from start to finish. Our server was superb and went above and beyond when we told him of our food allergy and finding dessert options that would work for us. Thank you J. Gilbert's for making this a memorable evening.

    Draeger was our server and very well presented. He presented us options and recommendations without us asking and making us feel very welcome to the establishment. We chose to order a little differently and went with some food that we normally didn't have in Australia. The Wagyu egg roll was a little interesting which was simply a spring roll with wagyu beef inside. It was a little bland, but some sauce added some flavour. The oysters were extremely small in comparison to ones we've had in Australia being Sydney Rock Oysters, so that was a little disappointment. The fillet mignon steak however was very well cooked and super tender. Ordered medium rare, you could still cut it with a butter knife. The full rack of ribs was tasty, but I overestimated how much my partner and I could eat. Overall, this was a fabulous experience.
