Great service and very good unique dishes.
Excellent, first time in new decor - like a lot!
Lovely evening, great food and drink, stay for dessert!
So pleasantly surprised by how much my friend and I enjoyed our meal. We ended up sharing 3 courses, and the kitchen staff didn’t just bring an extra plate. Each course was perfectly sized and served individually. The carpaccio melted like butter in the mouth and had the subtle crunch of bread crumbs instead of the typical toast points. Our Cesar salad was nicely chilled and flavorful. We also shared the linguine with clams and could have eaten more. Our waiter never asked if we’d like more wine when our glasses were empty, but was otherwise very attentive. Excellent!
First time eating at this place and overall the food was very good. The hamburger was excellent although not sure why it did come with fries or a side dish. The Tuna entree was also very good but on the small side. The pizza appetizer was very disappointing however the breads were excellent. Overall a solid meal but they were out of a few dishes and would like to try the pasta next time. I did not give this place 5 stars because the pizza was so mediocre.
New name for the old Five. Service was great. Food was OK. There are too many other good Italian farm to table restaurants here. $25 corker fee is too high for St Louis. Expensive for what you get. Glad we came but we won't be back. There was nothing really outstanding out of six meals.
Great experience. Staff very professional, friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive without being pesky. Came back with a wonderful wine pairing after we ordered our entrees, for what ended up being a mid-range priced bottle on the menu. Can't wait to try more of their menu!
We had the best dining experience...the ambiance was great and the food was spectacular! Looking forward to their new re-opening!
Really great food beautifully presented, lovely 20s atmosphere, friendly staff, not stuffy, good wine... what's not to like?
What a terrific restaurant. Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent environment. It's changing name, menu and decor in 1 week. I hope they retain their essence. Eat here. It's kind of what Niche used to be in spirit, but possessing its own signature. Thanks for a TERRIFIC meal.

Excellent menu yet few choices. Attentive wait staff. Kitchen a bit slow but not drastically so. Amuse bouche and bouche finale were nice touches and delicious!
Food was fresh and delicious. Service was perfect!
On the many occasions we have dined here, each time simply brings new tastes and greater experiences than before. The couple we brought with us both spontaneously stated this was the very best meal they have ever had in St. Louis, and they dine out often.
The restaurant was chilly upon our arrival. The host and wait staff were friendly. All of us had off menu specials.
The food quality and taste was very good. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent and lacking.
Would be willing to give it another try.
Love this place! The food is always terrific, as is the service -- such nice people! It's also a huge plus that we can hear each other talk. There are too many places where that is not the case.
Grandma’ recipes on steroids, in a good way. Loved the focus on great local ingredients. Vegetables played a big role and were absolutely exquisite.
As always, Five Bistro provided amazing service, food, and atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again.
We enjoyed a lovely prix fixe dinner. Each course was delicious and the welcome and service were warm and accommodating.
We love Five Bistro! It is our go-to restaurant for special occasions or a chance to enjoy delicious, creative food in a place where we can actually hear ourselves talk! Family owned, warm and friendly, always excellent service and food.
As always, Five did an outstanding job on Valentine's Day. Jacob was really helpful with wine pairings.
Five Bistro has become a special, go-to restaurant for us - delicious, creative pleasant and quiet.
The special dinners they have with wine flights are amazing. Food is beautifully presented and delicious.
Thanks for a wonderful setting for our friends' get-together. Loved the food, the service and the quiet "private" room for our party of eight!
Awesome farm to table with a flare. Outstanding wine selections as well
Our server was very friendly but offered no explanation of why each course took an hour to provide. What we anticipated would be a 90 minute meal took over 3 hours due to painfully long delays between courses. No apologies or explanations were offered by the server or owners. The farm to table concept is nice but not when it is delivered at half speed. The charcuterie plate was excellent, the beet salad was good, the pumpkin soup was bland and under heated, the chicken leg was over salted. A disappointment and not worth the price. Fortunately we were with great friends who brought in their own great wine.
Have made a tradition of going out to dinner after the premier cocktail party at the orchid show (Missouri Botanical Garden). We try to hit restaurants close by. Five Bistro used to be on Manchester in the Grove, obviously 2 minutes from MoBot. For the last maybe decade, it’s been on the Hill, 3 minutes away! Any way, the place was deserted. My wife started with the pork ragu, really rich and tasty. Her entree was the roasted vegetable plate. Just OK in my estimation (yes, we tend to share bites). I had really good clams in a lemony, caper, white wine broth. My entree was scallops with mushrooms and beets. I was pleasantly surprised by this somewhat unusual combination. Bottom line for the evening: pretty good, but not the best we’ve had at Five or other places nearby.
I had pumpkin soup - really tasted like pumpkin! Not sweetened or curried, just good pumpkin. Home-made biscuit croutons and creme fraiche highlighted it well. Lentil and roasted beet salad equally good. Lots of different tastes together but not mashed together. And a charcutrie plate with a huge variety of items, maybe a dozen! Each one quite different, meat, pates, veg, cheese. When the waiter packed up my charcutrie leftovers, he put each item in a separate container so I could really enjoy it the next day. The best item in there was actually the apple jam. It tasted like fresh apples. I don't know how they managed to make jam without it turning brown and thick. It was applesauce colored and fresh tasting.
Continues to be one of the City's best dining experiences. Excellent and creative menu, attentive and friendly service professionally given, and a setting that is creative. FIVE is always an excellent choice.
We enjoyed the Chef’s tasting menu served by Olivia. Every course was a feast. We enjoyed the smaller dishes, sophisticated but not overwhelming.
For me the lentils with beets were a highlight and I am normally craving for meat!
No background music, good acoustics do a very move place to have a conversation over a meal.
Yum! I would highly recommend Five Bistro! The food was delicious. Our waitress, Olivia, provided excellent service.
Enjoyed a friend’s engagement at Five Bistro. The 4 of us shared a couple appetizers - the gnocchi was delicious. And we each found a perfect main course. Although the menu is small, the selections offer something for everyone. Chocolate cake to finish dinner off was perfect. The atmosphere is upscale but casual. The service was terrific. Tried my first locally made vodka. A great place to break bread with good friends!
excellent dining experience in a quiet, intimate, friendly atmosphere. the meal was extraordinary!! I cannot explain why we did not dine there sooner!!!
Five Bistro has become one of my favorite restaurants and reminds me of Gerald Crafts' Niche when it was located in Benton Park. The menu selections are fresh, local, and delicious! Wide and interesting beer, wine and craft cocktail menu. The service is attentive, Kevin is awesome, understanding the fine balance that allows you to enjoy a leisurely meal. It's a place where you are invited to take your time and savor the flavors of each item.
We love everything about Five Bistro. It is perfect for those special occasions.
We had reservations for New Year's Eve. We were seated promptly. We had the prefixed menu for that evening. The food was awesome, the service was spot on, my husband added on the wine flight and that was great also. It was very busy but everything flowed through the evening. We loved it. The scallops, the sirloin roast, the homemade breads and the dessert was to die for. We will be back.
5 Bistro offers a delicious, intimate dining experience using locally sourced ingredients. The service and personal attention are also very attractive features of this gem!
Food and service continues to be just outstanding. Meal was well timed and the presentations were perfect.
Fabulous as always. The Devotis are amazing people and they provide amazing food and atmosphere. Love their creativity with their dishes. There’s a reason it is our favorite restaurant in St. Louis.
Kevin our server was very attentive to our enjoyment I definitely enjoyed meeting the manager and I assum it was his wife they made you feel welcome. Warm and cozy place for a very cold night cocktails and the wine with delicious. Let’s not forget the meal very good enjoyable.
A delightful experience. Great staff and good food.
