   They hustle customers for tip! Said it was a minimum requirement that we change our tip to at least 18% or more. I had changed my tip amount on my bill and was not happy about that.

   Very disappointing. After reading the reviews, I thought that this place was going to be very good. We even cancelled Sansei to come here, and that was a mistake. Very over priced for the low quality sushi you get, and the service was chaotic, and that’s putting it mildly. Honestly, avoid this place since there are much better options s around.

   We went to the one in Pearl City, Hawaii. Got seated after 5-10 minute wait. We got the Sashimi Matsuri eventhough the waitress and waiter was nice to tell us they didn't have that much of a variety in season (it was our first time in hawaii and we were staying in Honolulu, so we weren't going to come back anytime soon so we wanted to try it out). They were quick to take our orders and were attentive and was super nice with recommendation questions. Since the sashimi was prepared fresh, the wait was long but worth it. The Sashimi Matsuri had otoro, but it was more like chutoro - not as oily as the otoro in Japan. But overall the sashimi was super fresh - even the scallops were super sweet and juicy, the uni was fresh and plump, madako and maguro was delicous and tender.

   Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Cute little restaurant located in a Japanese food court. Like everything else in Hawaii, it's pricier than you would pay in other places, but there were tons of options and the service was quick (we were in and out in 45 mins max). Great for parents that want to eat their fill without spending 2 hours somewhere with impatient kids.

   Too many people and not enough service. Food took forever to arrive. Was compensated with a free beer.

    Izakaya Kia is a somewhat pricey, but really good sushi and Japanese dining restaurant located on the lower level of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza in the Japanese food gallery. The place was busy, and lively, the staff greeted us enthusiastically and sat us promptly. The restaurant is clean, and staff were instantly buzzing around. At least three different servers checked on us for our drink order, and again constantly throughout our meal. And while air was excited to see they had Suntory on draft, the pours were a little light. The menu might give you a little bit of sticker shock, but the sushi really was quite good. It’s not elaborate, it was fresh, savory, and very well prepared. If you prefer the highly stylized, saucy, flavored rolls, this probably isn’t what you want. For fresh sushi that doesn’t try to hide the flavor of the fish, this is some of the best.
