While they will be closing for a few weeks for some remodeling, do come back when they reopen for some great Italian cuisine. Great owner, great chef, great staff. World class gnocchi and lasagna, using very high quality ingredients. Fish specials were great as well. Some of the best Italian food we have found in the OC. It’s a little hard to find in that shopping center on Laguna Canyon road next to the Sawdust Festival grounds. Worth the drive!

Restaurant recently changed ownership and was very understaffed with 1 inexperienced, forgetful server. New owner was friendly, food was good.

The IVORY has been our favorite restaurant in Laguna since taking it over from "Re-Mark" which was also a great place. We have dinner there at least once a month if not more. Unfortunately, they sold and there is a new "Italian" menu. We met the new owner and he is very charming... but the menu and food left so much to be desired. For $28 we got three scallops and a pile of mushrooms. Both of us women were still hungry after an appetizer of grilled octopus AND the scallops. My husband had the special Short Ribs which were so dry they were hardly edible. Let's hope that this type of review will correct some of the errors and make this a great haunt for the locals. It is a tough location and with the previous owner and staff... we never minded heading up the canyon for dinner. We hope that we find that again with this new ownership as we love supporting the local places.

They are in a transition period, to an Italian restaurant with a different name. We were disappointed that some of the items on their online menu were no longer being offered (false advertising), and they were out of several things that were on the menu. But overall, the food and service was very good.

Interesting evening. The restaurant had just changed owners a few days earlier. We checked the online menu beforehand and were surprised not to see anything on the actual menu that was online. That was when we found out about the change of ownership. The owner introduced himself and explained what had happened, apologized for the small menu and told us about the upcoming changes he had planned. We have been to Ivory several times and always enjoyed it. We look forward to the new menu and changes with the new owner, too.

Upon arrival, we were informed that since the restaurant had literally just changed owners, the menu was limited and different than the menu on-line. This was disappointing since we went expecting to order duck, but that was no longer on the menu. The food we did order (salmon and scallops) was tasty, though the servings were rather small. Wait staff was pleasant, but clearly a little flummoxed by the change in ownership. All in all, not a bad experience - we would go back, but we will give them some time to adjust to new direction....
