ItalX, an avant-garde Italian restaurant, is now open for weekend lunch and dinner six days a week at City Center. The restaurant is located at 160 West Main Street. The team draws inspiration from Italy's emphasis on simple, fresh, quality ingredients and inspired hospitality in a warm and inviting space. The food here was absolutely fantastic. Packed full of flavor without being too overly chaotic dishes. The menu was short but had great options. The wild fig old fashioned was a smash hit.

The ambience and environment is fantastic, though the food and drinks are just mediocre. The meatballs tasted like beef jerky, which was very odd. The carbonara was flavorless.

First time diners. A lovely place to celebrate Morher’s Day. Excellent service. Beautiful setting. Terribly noisy from street traffic (the doors were open to Main Street and even on a Sunday, traffic was miserable). Three of us had chicken piccata, which was terrific and perfectly apportioned. One had the ItalX version of spaghetti and meatballs and claimed it some of the best he had ever eaten. Our last had an egg special offered for the occasion and ate every bite. My only quibble was that the focaccia was not a true focaccia - it was more a small, round loaf of bread and lacked the dimples and crispness usually associated with focaccia. The taste was acceptable, especially with olive oil, but not what I was expecting (being a bread person) or really wanted. If you want a real focaccia, you will be disappointed. We were too full for dessert. Overall, a great experience and worthy of a visit. I will be back.
